Episode 2

The following morning, I packed my bags to the car. I had a few hours to leave for my first day at Derek's penthouse; there wasn't time to make breakfast, so Mom decided to pack it to go. She hugged and advised me dearly during my stay with Derek. And most of the things she advised me against were never to disappoint her.

I carried my food flax, got into the car, and it took me to Derek's penthouse. I arrived there late than expected; it was a two-hour drive, and that's aside from the traffic jam in the city.

"Good morning,".

I said to the young man standing at the gate.

He didn't know who I was, and so I was asked to show my ID card. I showed it to him, and I was let into the huge mansion of my boss.

My bag was taken in by one of the maids. She said Derek had already given her instructions to get me settled in before his arrival from the gym. I was also given a heavy breakfast. I didn't even bother eating the food my mom had prepared with love just for me.

"Ma'am, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me or anyone else."

The beautiful-looking maid spoke to me.

She was nice enough to arrange my wardrobe; I didn't have much clothing, so it wasn't much work to arrange my clothes into the wardrobe.

A few hours later, I got news that Derek had returned from the gym, and he wished to see me.

I came to his office, and he was just getting off from a phone call. He placed the phone on his table and said to me, "Good morning, Sarah... How are you this morning?".

I moved a bit closer to his chair as I replied.

"I'm good, and thank you for the opportunity.".

I extended my thanks to him.

Derek looked at my face and smiled.

"That's okay, welcome." He said.

I nodded my head back and then left his office. I was back to my room to change. I got into something comfortable and then went to the car and waited for him. Derek took his time in getting dressed, and it was only then were we able to leave and attend to the business of today. He has so many interviews lined up, and as his assistant, it was my duty that he go to all of the business meetings and come back home on time.

"Sarah, Derek needs his latte.".

Justin, his manager, pulled the earphone from my ears and stopped across a coffee shop. His instructions were to get Derek his coffee on time before his interview begins.

I got inside the coffee shop and went straight to the beautiful lady taking the order. I was after a young man, and so I had to patiently wait for when it was my turn. The man finished getting his coffee, and it was now my turn. I paid for the coffee with my own money and brought it to the venue, where Derek will be having his interview. Justin saw me coming and single-handedly took the coffee from my hand; he then asked me to go stand at the corner and observe everything...

And an hour later. The network went for a commercial break, but that was after the interviewer asked Derek to perform his latest song. I haven't quite listened to it, but there are a lot of comments that like the song.

There was a wardrobe malfunction before his show, and Justin and the stylist had a fallout. Justin asked her a lazy worker, and Gena wasn't in the mood to listen to any of those words; she grabbed her bags and quit.

And her quitting was definitely going to be a disaster; there wasn't anyone who'd take up the responsibility of dressing Derek.

"Shit, what do we do?"

Derek asked his manager, since he was the one who decided to annoy his stylist by calling her life lady and unstylish.

"I don't know, but don't worry, I will fix it."

Justin promised and hurriedly left to see what he could do. .

I was standing next to the luggage of the stylist, and it was almost time for the commercial break to end. Justin was yet to come back, and with my knowledge of male fashion, I seized an opportunity by taking a chance on my job as an assistant.

When I told Derek that I was going to be the one to style him, he got a little bit disappointed but still allowed me to do my job. I got him stylized with simple jeans, trousers, a rocker top, and a leather jacket.

Derek had already gone on the show after the commercial break when Justin arrived with a man.

"Wait! Did Gena come back?".

He stepped forward to me and asked.

"No, she didn't." I replied.

"Okay, so who styled Derek?". He kept on asking questions.

"I did; I stylized him." I came clean and was unsure about his reaction...

Derek's performance was top notch, and everyone loved his new look; it was more appealing with a bad boy persona.

For the next interview, Justin allowed me to style Derek, and it was so until we finished the entire interviews and headed back home.

"Wow! What a day.".

As he implored me to take the luggage to Derek's bedroom, he exclaimed.

I was just keeping the luggage at the corner of the wardrobe when Derek walked in.

He saw me keeping his luggage next to the wardrobe and said,.

"Thank you for looking out for me.".

He took off his jacket and aimlessly tossed it on the chair inside the room.

"It's okay, I was just doing my job." I accepted his thanks and smiled. He then came forward, and just as his hands were almost touching me, I shifted and left the room.

My mom called me shortly after I came back from Derek's room; she wanted to know how I was since we haven't gotten the opportunity to talk with each other throughout the day. There I was assuming that she must've been lonely; it was at that same time that I heard our neighbor's voice from the background.

Mr. Adrian and his daughter, Frankie.

"Mom! Are you having dinner with Frankie and her father?".

I interrogated my mom despite knowing the truth...

She laughed and said.

"Yes, baby. Mr. Adrian invited me over, and I couldn't say no." She gave herself a well-thought-out excuse, something that would be believable and no one would ever suspect.
