Chapter one
Lia's POV I rub my hands together as I wait impatiently for the pack doctor. I stomped my feet to the ground while staring at the door. It's been fifty minutes since I have been waiting for my faith. I have been sick for a while now. At first, I thought it was just a fever, but it struck me that my period was three weeks late. I can't get pregnant. Levi would never accept it. He may be my husband but I know better than to expect anything good from him. "Luna," The pack doctor called and I jerked up. "Yes," I answer, taking a deep breath. I clasped my hands together to calm my nerves. "Congratulations, Luna, you are two weeks pregnant. I'm so happy__ I tuned him out, not hearing a single word he was saying. The words he just said rang in my ears. I'm two weeks pregnant with Levi's baby. I staggered a bit and fell back on the chair. "Luna," The pack doctor rushed to my side. "Are you okay?" He asked, his voice laced with concern. "I'm fine, I was just a bit startled." I flashed him a smile. He stares at me for some moment, not convinced but steps back. "Okay, Luna. I'm very sure the Alpha will be very happy to hear the news. I sigh, rising to my feet. "Thank you, doctor," I forced a smile on. He nods then turns away. I walked out of the pack doctor's office and took a long stroll around the pack house. I got tired after a while and took a seat on a bench in the garden. Several thoughts ran across my mind. I had no idea how I was going to break the news to Levi. My husband and I don't have an ideal relationship despite being married. He had changed a lot from the man I fell in love with. He wasn't the same man who saved me from that accident two years ago. Who was so gentle and took great care of me while I was in a coma. He even cleared all my medical bills without asking for anything in return. I had developed a soft spot for him because of his character. We kept in touch with each other. When he proposed to me, I accepted within a heartbeat because I was in love with him. And I believed he loved me too. We weren't mates, but I didn't think much of it at the time. I wish I had. I learned the truth behind our marriage after his father, the previous Alpha, died. He began showing his true colors. Levi had only proposed to me to fulfill his father's last wish of seeing him married before he died. After much deliberation, I made up my mind to tell Levi about the pregnancy. It wasn't like I could keep the pregnancy a secret while still living under his roof. But I didn't know how I was going to break the news to him. I got discouraged the more I thought about it. I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration. I took a deep breath to calm myself. Whatever happens, it would be worth it. I am going to tell Levi about his unborn child. Holding on to the thought, I stood up from the bench and made my way to the pack house. The hallway was lined with maids who were going about their daily business. They would stop and occasionally greet me. I returned every greeting with a tight smile. I made a sharp turn to the hallway that led to Levi's room. It was empty, which meant he wasn't home. The hallway would bustling with people if he was home. I drew a long sigh and strolled to my room. ____ I decided to take a nap before he came back but I couldn't because of how tense I was. I had been pacing around my room for three hours now. 'is he not going to come home today?' I thought rubbing my forehead. "Welcome Alpha," I jolted up as I heard the announcement. "He is back." I took a deep breath before strolling down the stairs. Sweat rolled down my back as I approached him, but I didn't turn back; I must do this and at least hear his response. Levi was standing in the middle of the living room, his broad shoulders tightening and relaxing every second in the white tux he was wearing. He was discussing something with the pack Beta, Dave. I inhale and exhale before calling his name. "Alpha Levi.” He turned to me and I took a few steps back. His jaws tightened as he stared at me, anger flashed through his eyes. "Is...is something wrong? I asked him. Dave threw me a pity stare and I grew more worried. "Yes," He snickers, prowling towards me like a predator. He stood before me and stared down at me. "Everything is damn wrong!" "What...what do you mean?" I can hear my heart beating hard as I struggle to find my voice. I wondered what I did wrong this time. "I'm done with this marriage, this loveless marriage. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore." My jaw dropped and I stumbled backward, losing my stamina. "What do you mean? Levi, did I do something wrong?" "You did everything wrong, Lia; you know this is a loveless marriage." He spat in anger, closing the distance between us. "I can't be in this marriage with you, now that my father is dead." He says each word with spite, I have never seen him look at me with so much hatred before. "Levi, we can sort this out," I pleaded. I have not told him about the pregnancy and he is saying this. "You need to know__ "I want a divorce.”Chapter 2 Lia's POV"You want a divorce?" My brows knitted in confusion. “Why do you want to divorce me, Levi? I haven't done anything wrong." voice quivering as I spoke. "How many times do I have to repeat to you that I want a divorce, is that how dumb you are?" He shouted in my face.I gasped, his words hit me like a bullet. I knew our marriage was doomed to end one day but I didn't expect it to be this soon. Not now. That I had a baby on the way. I must reconcile with him for my baby. Tightening my fists, I fell to my knees without thinking much of It. Tears stung at the corner of my eyes but I blinked them away. I grabbed a hold of his leg. "What the hell are you doing?" He screams in my face as he tries to yank his leg from me, but I hold on tight. "Lia." He groans.Tears fell from my face as I lifted my head."Levi, please don't do this. Please. I'll stop bothering you, I promise. I'll do whatever you want me to do. Just please don't leave me. I can't live without you
Chapter 3 Lia's POVI broke into a run as I stepped out of the pack house. I ran deep into the woods, my vision blurry with tears. My whole life had turned upside down in just a few minutes. I got divorced and betrayed by someone I loved so much. Now, I was going to be a single mother with no one to care for me and my child. Kira's words stung each time I remembered it. I wanted to scream to her at the moment that I wasn't barren. I wanted to tell her that I was carrying Levi's heir at the moment and watch the colors drain from her eyes. But I couldn't. I couldn't even bring myself to talk. No one would believe me anyway. I couldn't get pregnant earlier in my marriage because of the accident I had. The entire pack expected an heir and were slowly losing faith in me. I had prayed to the moon goddess for a child. I finally got pregnant, only for my husband to divorce me and shove his mistress in my face.Levi and Kira's make-out scene flashed across my mind, and I almost threw
Chapter 4 Lia's POVIt's been three days since I was discharged from the hospital. The man who helped me three days ago brought me to his mansion after he learned I had nowhere to go. I found out his name was Johnny. I was hesitant about coming here at first but slowly caved in when he offered because I didn't know where to go. I couldn't go back to Levi's pack. It was obvious that I wasn't welcomed there. But also, I didn't know Johnny well. I made up my mind to only stay here for a few days until I figure things out. I hadn't seen Johnny since he brought me here and asked his workers to help me settle in. The maids told me he was on a business trip. I decided to wait patiently till he was back before I left. But aside from his absence, everything else was nice. The food was nice, the people were very welcoming, and I was treated very well. A bit more than when I was a Luna. Despite all these, I couldn't stop wondering about the last words Johnny said to me at the hospital.
Chapter fiveLevi's POVA smile tilted at the corner of my lips as I admired my reflection in the mirror. I ran my fingers through my hair. I felt different now that Lia and I were no longer together. I was happier with Kira. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and stepped out of my room. Everything was going well for me at the moment, except for the fact that the pack didn't have a Luna. I knew it was only a matter of time before the news of my divorce with Lia spread through the pack. I needed to act fast and make Kira my new Luna. But first, I needed to get her in with the pack elders. “Hey, handsome.” Kira walked up to me in the hallway. I flashed her a smile. My gaze swept through her body as I took in her appearance. She wore the dress I got for her. It was a red dress with a thigh-high slit. She looked stunning in it. “You look so beautiful,” I whispered into her ears. Her cheeks turned red as she blushed hard. She linked her arm with mine and we descended the stairs to
