I want a divorce

Chapter one

Lia's POV

I rub my hands together as I wait impatiently for the pack doctor. I stomped my feet to the ground while staring at the door.

It's been fifty minutes since I have been waiting for my faith. I have been sick for a while now. At first, I thought it was just a fever, but it struck me that my period was three weeks late.

I can't get pregnant. Levi would never accept it. He may be my husband but I know better than to expect anything good from him.

"Luna," The pack doctor called and I jerked up.

"Yes," I answer, taking a deep breath. I clasped my hands together to calm my nerves.

"Congratulations, Luna, you are two weeks pregnant. I'm so happy__

I tuned him out, not hearing a single word he was saying. The words he just said rang in my ears.

I'm two weeks pregnant with Levi's baby.

I staggered a bit and fell back on the chair.

"Luna," The pack doctor rushed to my side.

"Are you okay?" He asked, his voice laced with concern.

"I'm fine, I was just a bit startled." I flashed him a smile.

He stares at me for some moment, not convinced but steps back.

"Okay, Luna. I'm very sure the Alpha will be very happy to hear the news.

I sigh, rising to my feet.

"Thank you, doctor," I forced a smile on. He nods then turns away.

I walked out of the pack doctor's office and took a long stroll around the pack house. I got tired after a while and took a seat on a bench in the garden. Several thoughts ran across my mind. I had no idea how I was going to break the news to Levi.

My husband and I don't have an ideal relationship despite being married. He had changed a lot from the man I fell in love with.

He wasn't the same man who saved me from that accident two years ago. Who was so gentle and took great care of me while I was in a coma. He even cleared all my medical bills without asking for anything in return.

I had developed a soft spot for him because of his character. We kept in touch with each other. When he proposed to me, I accepted within a heartbeat because I was in love with him. And I believed he loved me too.

We weren't mates, but I didn't think much of it at the time. I wish I had.

I learned the truth behind our marriage after his father, the previous Alpha, died. He began showing his true colors. Levi had only proposed to me to fulfill his father's last wish of seeing him married before he died.

After much deliberation, I made up my mind to tell Levi about the pregnancy. It wasn't like I could keep the pregnancy a secret while still living under his roof.

But I didn't know how I was going to break the news to him. I got discouraged the more I thought about it. I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration.

I took a deep breath to calm myself. Whatever happens, it would be worth it. I am going to tell Levi about his unborn child. Holding on to the thought, I stood up from the bench and made my way to the pack house.

The hallway was lined with maids who were going about their daily business. They would stop and occasionally greet me. I returned every greeting with a tight smile.

I made a sharp turn to the hallway that led to Levi's room. It was empty, which meant he wasn't home. The hallway would bustling with people if he was home.

I drew a long sigh and strolled to my room.

    ____

I decided to take a nap before he came back but I couldn't because of how tense I was. I had been pacing around my room for three hours now.

'is he not going to come home today?' I thought rubbing my forehead.

"Welcome Alpha," I jolted up as I heard the announcement.

"He is back." I took a deep breath before strolling down the stairs.

Sweat rolled down my back as I approached him, but I didn't turn back; I must do this and at least hear his response.

Levi was standing in the middle of the living room, his broad shoulders tightening and relaxing every second in the white tux he was wearing. He was discussing something with the pack Beta, Dave.

I inhale and exhale before calling his name. "Alpha Levi.”

He turned to me and I took a few steps back. His jaws tightened as he stared at me, anger flashed through his eyes.

"Is...is something wrong? I asked him. Dave threw me a pity stare and I grew more worried.

"Yes," He snickers, prowling towards me like a predator. He stood before me and stared down at me. "Everything is damn wrong!"

"What...what do you mean?" I can hear my heart beating hard as I struggle to find my voice. I wondered what I did wrong this time.

"I'm done with this marriage, this loveless marriage. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore."

My jaw dropped and I stumbled backward, losing my stamina. "What do you mean? Levi, did I do something wrong?"

"You did everything wrong, Lia; you know this is a loveless marriage." He spat in anger, closing the distance between us. "I can't be in this marriage with you, now that my father is dead."

He says each word with spite, I have never seen him look at me with so much hatred before.

"Levi, we can sort this out," I pleaded. I have not told him about the pregnancy and he is saying this. "You need to know__

   "I want a divorce.”
