Chapter 3
Lia's POV I broke into a run as I stepped out of the pack house. I ran deep into the woods, my vision blurry with tears. My whole life had turned upside down in just a few minutes. I got divorced and betrayed by someone I loved so much. Now, I was going to be a single mother with no one to care for me and my child. Kira's words stung each time I remembered it. I wanted to scream to her at the moment that I wasn't barren. I wanted to tell her that I was carrying Levi's heir at the moment and watch the colors drain from her eyes. But I couldn't. I couldn't even bring myself to talk. No one would believe me anyway. I couldn't get pregnant earlier in my marriage because of the accident I had. The entire pack expected an heir and were slowly losing faith in me. I had prayed to the moon goddess for a child. I finally got pregnant, only for my husband to divorce me and shove his mistress in my face. Levi and Kira's make-out scene flashed across my mind, and I almost threw up while running. I slowed my pace until I stopped running eventually. My legs ached from how fast I ran. Sweat trickled down my forehead. I darted my gaze around and realized I was surrounded by trees. I slowly started to trace my steps and finally came out to the main road. The whole place was so unfamiliar. I sank on a bench I saw by the side of the road, panting heavily. I had no idea what to do from here or where to go. My parents were dead, and I have no relatives that I know of. I sighed. My head hurt the more I thought about it. I decided to keep walking. I might get help somewhere to spend the night. I forced myself to stand up from the bench and dragged my feet forward. My head felt heavy but I endured the pain. I only made it a few steps before I slumped to the floor and blacked out. *** I slowly open my eyes, feeling weak and disoriented; I look around, squinting my eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness. I dragged my gaze around trying to make sense of my environment, and I realized I was in a hospital ward. I tried to sit but fell back into the bed. My whole body ached painfully. "You are awake." My eyes landed on the doctor strolling towards me. I tried to sit up again but winced slightly as I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. The doctor rushed to help me up. “Thank you,” I muttered. I held my head as it throbbed painfully. I tried to remember how I got here but got nothing. “How are you feeling now?” He asked. “A little sore, but I'm fine.” “How did I end up here?” I asked. “You were brought in last night. You were under a lot of stress and passed out. Luckily, you hadn't sustained any major injuries.” The doctor explained. I sighed. Then I remembered something and I stared at the doctor. “My baby? Is my baby okay, doctor?” I asked, holding my breath as I waited for his response. “Your baby is in perfect condition, ma'am. There were no complications during your treatment.” “Thank you. Who brought me here?” “The Alpha brought you in. I'll inform him that you've regained consciousness, then you can meet him.” He said. He walked out shortly after. I was left wondering who the mystery ‘Alpha’ was. I wanted to thank him for rescuing me. My mind wandered to my present predicament. - How do I survive with a growing child inside me? I didn't have a job or any savings. I left all of my belongings at the pack house. I made a silent prayer to the moon goddess to help me and my unborn child. The door creaked open and a man walked in. He was very good-looking in his fine tuxedo and perfectly styled hair. "How are you feeling now?" He asked, walking closer to my bed. "I'm feeling better now. You don't seem like a doctor. Who are you?" I asked. "Well, I'm not. I brought you in last night." He said, his hand traveling to the back of his neck. "Thank you so much for saving me. I appreciate it." "It's a pleasure. I'm glad you're okay now." His lips tilted into a smile. "If you don't mind, can I ask you some questions?" "I don't mind at all. Feel free to ask." "How did you find me?" The road I was on earlier was unfamiliar to me and it doesn't seem like people tread it often. It was full of potholes. "I was just passing by when I saw you conscious by the side of the road. I couldn't just leave you. Long story short, you're in my pack house. I hope you don't mind?" "I'm in another pack?" I jolted in surprise. He gave me a simple nod. "How far is it from Blood Moon Pack?" I asked as I swallowed hard. "Well, we're on UK soil now, so I'd say pretty far." "UK soil? Did you bring me from the Blood Moon Pack in Virginia to the UK? That's kidnapping," I half yelled. "It's called saving your life, ma'am. I told you I was just passing by. I didn't know any hospital near the place I found you. Since I was coming back to my pack, I did the most reasonable thing, bringing you along. But you're not being very appreciative right now,” He said, his brows creased in irritation. I understood him. I was been ungrateful right now. But was I supposed to do it? I had never left my pack ever since I joined one, and now I just realized I was transported to a new country entirely. It was overwhelming. "I'm sorry. I was just a bit shocked." His face melted into a smile. "It's no problem. I understand that. I'm sorry for bringing you here without your consent. I can get you back to your pack when you're fully recovered." He said. "Thank you." I smiled. "Uhm... I know this is too much to ask of you, but when I found you in the woods, you had nothing on you. I just wanted to let you know that if you need a place to crash before returning home, you're welcome in my pack." He was being kind to me. He was so kind that it made me feel so uneasy. He didn't even know me, yet he was willing to help me. It was how I fell for Levi in the first place Levi. I groaned as I remembered him. "Is something wrong?" He asked, his voice laced with concern. I sucked in a deep breath. I hope I don't regret this. "Can I ask one more insensitive question?" "Go ahead." "Is there something you want from me? I know you're been kind but I just can't help myself." The question was very rude and I knew it, but I couldn't risk getting hurt the second time. The situation felt too familiar. He cocked an eyebrow. "What makes you think I want something from you?" He asked with a hint of amusement in his voice. "I don't know. I mean, you don't know me, and you decided to save me and also bring me to a strange country. I just feel a bit unsettled about it." He gave me a creepy smirk as if excited at the prospect of me being unsettled. The smirk was gone as fast as it came and it made me wonder if I had imagined it. He stood up from the chair and strolled to the door. "You didn't give me an answer." I stopped him just before he stepped out. He turned around and gave me a dark stare and the creepy smirk from earlier. "You'll know what I want after you're better and out of here." He stepped out immediately, leaving me confused with several questions in my mind.Chapter 4 Lia's POVIt's been three days since I was discharged from the hospital. The man who helped me three days ago brought me to his mansion after he learned I had nowhere to go. I found out his name was Johnny. I was hesitant about coming here at first but slowly caved in when he offered because I didn't know where to go. I couldn't go back to Levi's pack. It was obvious that I wasn't welcomed there. But also, I didn't know Johnny well. I made up my mind to only stay here for a few days until I figure things out. I hadn't seen Johnny since he brought me here and asked his workers to help me settle in. The maids told me he was on a business trip. I decided to wait patiently till he was back before I left. But aside from his absence, everything else was nice. The food was nice, the people were very welcoming, and I was treated very well. A bit more than when I was a Luna. Despite all these, I couldn't stop wondering about the last words Johnny said to me at the hospital.
Chapter fiveLevi's POVA smile tilted at the corner of my lips as I admired my reflection in the mirror. I ran my fingers through my hair. I felt different now that Lia and I were no longer together. I was happier with Kira. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and stepped out of my room. Everything was going well for me at the moment, except for the fact that the pack didn't have a Luna. I knew it was only a matter of time before the news of my divorce with Lia spread through the pack. I needed to act fast and make Kira my new Luna. But first, I needed to get her in with the pack elders. “Hey, handsome.” Kira walked up to me in the hallway. I flashed her a smile. My gaze swept through her body as I took in her appearance. She wore the dress I got for her. It was a red dress with a thigh-high slit. She looked stunning in it. “You look so beautiful,” I whispered into her ears. Her cheeks turned red as she blushed hard. She linked her arm with mine and we descended the stairs to
Chapter oneLia's POV I rub my hands together as I wait impatiently for the pack doctor. I stomped my feet to the ground while staring at the door. It's been fifty minutes since I have been waiting for my faith. I have been sick for a while now. At first, I thought it was just a fever, but it struck me that my period was three weeks late. I can't get pregnant. Levi would never accept it. He may be my husband but I know better than to expect anything good from him. "Luna," The pack doctor called and I jerked up."Yes," I answer, taking a deep breath. I clasped my hands together to calm my nerves."Congratulations, Luna, you are two weeks pregnant. I'm so happy__I tuned him out, not hearing a single word he was saying. The words he just said rang in my ears. I'm two weeks pregnant with Levi's baby. I staggered a bit and fell back on the chair. "Luna," The pack doctor rushed to my side. "Are you okay?" He asked, his voice laced with concern. "I'm fine, I was just a bit start
Chapter 2 Lia's POV"You want a divorce?" My brows knitted in confusion. “Why do you want to divorce me, Levi? I haven't done anything wrong." voice quivering as I spoke. "How many times do I have to repeat to you that I want a divorce, is that how dumb you are?" He shouted in my face.I gasped, his words hit me like a bullet. I knew our marriage was doomed to end one day but I didn't expect it to be this soon. Not now. That I had a baby on the way. I must reconcile with him for my baby. Tightening my fists, I fell to my knees without thinking much of It. Tears stung at the corner of my eyes but I blinked them away. I grabbed a hold of his leg. "What the hell are you doing?" He screams in my face as he tries to yank his leg from me, but I hold on tight. "Lia." He groans.Tears fell from my face as I lifted my head."Levi, please don't do this. Please. I'll stop bothering you, I promise. I'll do whatever you want me to do. Just please don't leave me. I can't live without you
