Chapter 3
Lia's POV I broke into a run as I stepped out of the pack house. I ran deep into the woods, my vision blurry with tears. My whole life had turned upside down in just a few minutes. I got divorced and betrayed by someone I loved so much. Now, I was going to be a single mother with no one to care for me and my child. Kira's words stung each time I remembered it. I wanted to scream to her at the moment that I wasn't barren. I wanted to tell her that I was carrying Levi's heir at the moment and watch the colors drain from her eyes. But I couldn't. I couldn't even bring myself to talk. No one would believe me anyway. I couldn't get pregnant earlier in my marriage because of the accident I had. The entire pack expected an heir and were slowly losing faith in me. I had prayed to the moon goddess for a child. I finally got pregnant, only for my husband to divorce me and shove his mistress in my face. Levi and Kira's make-out scene flashed across my mind, and I almost threw up while running. I slowed my pace until I stopped running eventually. My legs ached from how fast I ran. Sweat trickled down my forehead. I darted my gaze around and realized I was surrounded by trees. I slowly started to trace my steps and finally came out to the main road. The whole place was so unfamiliar. I sank on a bench I saw by the side of the road, panting heavily. I had no idea what to do from here or where to go. My parents were dead, and I have no relatives that I know of. I sighed. My head hurt the more I thought about it. I decided to keep walking. I might get help somewhere to spend the night. I forced myself to stand up from the bench and dragged my feet forward. My head felt heavy but I endured the pain. I only made it a few steps before I slumped to the floor and blacked out. *** I slowly open my eyes, feeling weak and disoriented; I look around, squinting my eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness. I dragged my gaze around trying to make sense of my environment, and I realized I was in a hospital ward. I tried to sit but fell back into the bed. My whole body ached painfully. "You are awake." My eyes landed on the doctor strolling towards me. I tried to sit up again but winced slightly as I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. The doctor rushed to help me up. “Thank you,” I muttered. I held my head as it throbbed painfully. I tried to remember how I got here but got nothing. “How are you feeling now?” He asked. “A little sore, but I'm fine.” “How did I end up here?” I asked. “You were brought in last night. You were under a lot of stress and passed out. Luckily, you hadn't sustained any major injuries.” The doctor explained. I sighed. Then I remembered something and I stared at the doctor. “My baby? Is my baby okay, doctor?” I asked, holding my breath as I waited for his response. “Your baby is in perfect condition, ma'am. There were no complications during your treatment.” “Thank you. Who brought me here?” “The Alpha brought you in. I'll inform him that you've regained consciousness, then you can meet him.” He said. He walked out shortly after. I was left wondering who the mystery ‘Alpha’ was. I wanted to thank him for rescuing me. My mind wandered to my present predicament. - How do I survive with a growing child inside me? I didn't have a job or any savings. I left all of my belongings at the pack house. I made a silent prayer to the moon goddess to help me and my unborn child. The door creaked open and a man walked in. He was very good-looking in his fine tuxedo and perfectly styled hair. "How are you feeling now?" He asked, walking closer to my bed. "I'm feeling better now. You don't seem like a doctor. Who are you?" I asked. "Well, I'm not. I brought you in last night." He said, his hand traveling to the back of his neck. "Thank you so much for saving me. I appreciate it." "It's a pleasure. I'm glad you're okay now." His lips tilted into a smile. "If you don't mind, can I ask you some questions?" "I don't mind at all. Feel free to ask." "How did you find me?" The road I was on earlier was unfamiliar to me and it doesn't seem like people tread it often. It was full of potholes. "I was just passing by when I saw you conscious by the side of the road. I couldn't just leave you. Long story short, you're in my pack house. I hope you don't mind?" "I'm in another pack?" I jolted in surprise. He gave me a simple nod. "How far is it from Blood Moon Pack?" I asked as I swallowed hard. "Well, we're on UK soil now, so I'd say pretty far." "UK soil? Did you bring me from the Blood Moon Pack in Virginia to the UK? That's kidnapping," I half yelled. "It's called saving your life, ma'am. I told you I was just passing by. I didn't know any hospital near the place I found you. Since I was coming back to my pack, I did the most reasonable thing, bringing you along. But you're not being very appreciative right now,” He said, his brows creased in irritation. I understood him. I was been ungrateful right now. But was I supposed to do it? I had never left my pack ever since I joined one, and now I just realized I was transported to a new country entirely. It was overwhelming. "I'm sorry. I was just a bit shocked." His face melted into a smile. "It's no problem. I understand that. I'm sorry for bringing you here without your consent. I can get you back to your pack when you're fully recovered." He said. "Thank you." I smiled. "Uhm... I know this is too much to ask of you, but when I found you in the woods, you had nothing on you. I just wanted to let you know that if you need a place to crash before returning home, you're welcome in my pack." He was being kind to me. He was so kind that it made me feel so uneasy. He didn't even know me, yet he was willing to help me. It was how I fell for Levi in the first place Levi. I groaned as I remembered him. "Is something wrong?" He asked, his voice laced with concern. I sucked in a deep breath. I hope I don't regret this. "Can I ask one more insensitive question?" "Go ahead." "Is there something you want from me? I know you're been kind but I just can't help myself." The question was very rude and I knew it, but I couldn't risk getting hurt the second time. The situation felt too familiar. He cocked an eyebrow. "What makes you think I want something from you?" He asked with a hint of amusement in his voice. "I don't know. I mean, you don't know me, and you decided to save me and also bring me to a strange country. I just feel a bit unsettled about it." He gave me a creepy smirk as if excited at the prospect of me being unsettled. The smirk was gone as fast as it came and it made me wonder if I had imagined it. He stood up from the chair and strolled to the door. "You didn't give me an answer." I stopped him just before he stepped out. He turned around and gave me a dark stare and the creepy smirk from earlier. "You'll know what I want after you're better and out of here." He stepped out immediately, leaving me confused with several questions in my mind.Chapter 4 Lia's POVIt's been three days since I was discharged from the hospital. The man who helped me three days ago brought me to his mansion after he learned I had nowhere to go. I found out his name was Johnny. I was hesitant about coming here at first but slowly caved in when he offered because I didn't know where to go. I couldn't go back to Levi's pack. It was obvious that I wasn't welcomed there. But also, I didn't know Johnny well. I made up my mind to only stay here for a few days until I figure things out. I hadn't seen Johnny since he brought me here and asked his workers to help me settle in. The maids told me he was on a business trip. I decided to wait patiently till he was back before I left. But aside from his absence, everything else was nice. The food was nice, the people were very welcoming, and I was treated very well. A bit more than when I was a Luna. Despite all these, I couldn't stop wondering about the last words Johnny said to me at the hospital.
Chapter fiveLevi's POVA smile tilted at the corner of my lips as I admired my reflection in the mirror. I ran my fingers through my hair. I felt different now that Lia and I were no longer together. I was happier with Kira. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and stepped out of my room. Everything was going well for me at the moment, except for the fact that the pack didn't have a Luna. I knew it was only a matter of time before the news of my divorce with Lia spread through the pack. I needed to act fast and make Kira my new Luna. But first, I needed to get her in with the pack elders. “Hey, handsome.” Kira walked up to me in the hallway. I flashed her a smile. My gaze swept through her body as I took in her appearance. She wore the dress I got for her. It was a red dress with a thigh-high slit. She looked stunning in it. “You look so beautiful,” I whispered into her ears. Her cheeks turned red as she blushed hard. She linked her arm with mine and we descended the stairs to
LIA POV“I understand it's too much for you to comprehend, but you have to understand that now is the time when I need you.” I furrowed my brows, my eyes staring at him as he knelt, an atom of shock still on my face.“Be my Luna for a year,” the words were in my head, and I just didn't know how to go about it.My heart hammered in my chest, Andi gulped, sweat forming on my forehead.“You're really funny. I know you're worried, but the expression on your face is something else. I didn't ask you to do something crazy, but be my Luna,” his words reached my ears again, making me stand to my feet.“I'm sorry. I'm just really shocked. That's an unusual request for someone who you just met. Do you want to spend one year with me?”He sighed pushing himself back on his feet, his eyes on me. “That's why you're perfect for the job. One year with a total stranger, who knows?” Johnny paused.“Don't worry; you don't have to worry; I've got you covered. All I need you to do is say yes.” I pressed
Levi's pov.KIra's frustrated sigh left my lips, and I found myself gulping the last content from the bottle of whiskey I opened about thirty minutes ago.Kira wasn't happy ever since I told her I didn't want to marry her now because of what the people would say. She didn't want to look at things from my light.“Why can't she see that I'm trying to protect both our images? I am an alpha and a very successful businessman. People would say I divorced my wife just to be with my side cheek, and I didn't even wait to showcase her.” “Well maybe because you chose her.” I ran my hands through my hair and even sighed. She has helped me throughout the times I was married to that chest, and that's why I decided to be with her because she was really honest, but now I was hurting her.I immediately stood up, pacing around. “Maybe you should pay her a visit.” my wolf suggested, making me sigh. She had refused to come out for breakfast, and when I asked, I was told she didn't eat. She even s
Kaiden’s pov“Ugh!” I growled, slowly trying to get on my feet. There was a lot on my mind, my heart raced, and I was trying my best to not feel pain, but my body ached badly.I almost had her. She would have been mine if he didn't come to save her. Wherever it was that has saved her was surely a strong person because he had the ability to knock me out. Standing up from my bed, I walked towards the door. It was the knock that had called me to get from my bed because I had been in pain for the last couple of days.Upon opening the door, I found Kira standing there. She had a serious look on her face, and a frown on her face as well. Her hands were crossed over her chest and she was trying her best not to kill me with her eyes.“You really have to be calm. I don't see a reason why you show up looking this pissed.”“Why are you still here? I thought you said you were going to disappear with her, right?” Kira asked, and I sighed, turning my back towards her as I walked back into my house
Lia’s POV“Mmm…” I groaned as I struggled to sit up on the bed since I had just woken up.Last night was fun. It was the best time of my life since I faced only pain most of the time before. I was still in thoughts, recalling what happened last night when my eyes were directly towards the door.I heard the handle being pulled open, and I was shocked to see Johnny there with a tray in his hands. It contained a lovely breakfast that smelt absolutely heavenly“Good morning. Someone really looks happy. How are you doing?” He asked, as I passed a small smile. I was shocked that an alpha who was supposed to be on a contract with me as his girlfriend was taking it a bit personal. Too personal.“I'm fine. How was your night?” I threw back the same question to him, and he smiled. Indeed he was trying his best to ensure I was well, maybe he meant every word he said.I thought as I watched him close the door with his legs, and walk closer to where I was with his smile still on.“You were really
Johnny's POV“Let go of me, stop it now!” Once we were out of the room, my elder sister Belle, yanked her hands off mine, and was breathing hard. Because of how she struggled, she got her hair messy, so she fixed it up, cleaning off her sweat with her handkerchief before glaring at me.“You're not fine. Is this what I expect from you? You told me you can handle the kingdom, but it seems like you're slowly turning into a servant!” She screamed at my face again, and I tried to plead with her to lower her tone.“You want me to stop talking? Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You are really something. How can an alpha be holding a tray, and then–” “She's my girlfriend.” At that moment, she paused, and for a second or two, there was total silence until she laughed.“You must be crazy. Are you fucking kidding me?” I asked with raised brows, and she stopped laughing, glaring at me with anger. The seriousness on his face made me have a lump on my throat.I wasn't scared of my sister, but she
Lai’s pov I was feeling really anxious, and even when I really wanted to stay in bed, I wanted to know what Johnny's sister was going to say about the situation.I didn't know what else to say. I was really really worried. My heart kept drumming, and my eyes were fixed at the door. If only he knew what was on my mind, he would have come to clear my doubt.I rnw my hands through my hair, and tried to get on my feet. My heart drummed hard, and my lips were dried. If only he knew what was going on.As soon as my worry increased, the door was pushed open, gaining my attention. My eyes were fixed on the door, and he was standing there.Seeing him excited me. I was so happy I was over the moon. Pushing myself up from the bed with the little strength I had gained, I rushed towards him, and hugged him tightly. “Are you sure you're fine? You seem anxious. I know you're worried about my sister.”He expressed, his hands touching my hair. I noticed that there was something about him. It was as
Lia's pov“You can't tell me there's nothing going on here, and he's just a client. Why are you so tense?” He asked, and I turned to him with my chest pacing.“I ran out of the meeting hall because I don't feel so good, and he came closer to check up on me, nothing else. Now, would you please let it go?” “No I can't! I really care about you, but you don't seem to understand what the matter is.” “Care?” Levi asked. He didn't seem to be helping matters as he was asking too many questions which aroused his suspicions.I wasn't really bothered about the whole thing. All I needed now was a way to ensure that things were alright again. I turned to Levi, and frowned. I knew what he was trying to do, but why now?“Maya?” I faced the person I really needed to talk to. She widened her eyes waiting for my command. “Please ensure that all of his board of directors alongside Mr Levi is escorted out of the meeting hall. I am in no mood to talk to clients today.” Levi furrowed his brows. “You'
Lia's povIt was finally time for another meeting. Last week was stressful, but this week was a new way to start. I didn't want to stress so much, but this company leader coming to see me was so big.“How are you doing?” Maya walked into my office with a cup of coffee. I was worried about the way things were going to be today.“Fine. You're late. The meeting is going to start in one hour, and you came late.”She nodded. “Yeah. I'm sorry. I had a rough night with my boyfriend. I realized the morning was closer than I thought. I'm really sorry about the way things are.”I sighed, rubbing my hands through my hair. “Have you gotten all the documents ready? We don't want to keep our clients waiting. Today marks another big day for the company.”She nodded with a smile on her face, and then moved out of the office after handing me the coffee. I stared at the coffee with a sigh, and then I picked it up, making sure to take a sip.As soon as I took a sip, I felt somewhat refreshed, but for so
Levi's povMy life had been all thorns since I chased Kira away, and even when she tried many means to return, I didn't just want to see her.She had tried pleadings and eventually, she knew I didn't want her anymore. I was so tired of her. She was more than all I needed. The worst part of it all was that things weren't going well for me. For me to get sane, I had to drink alcohol.Drinking to forget my sorrow.“Hello, handsome…” My thoughts were interrupted by a girl in the club. She was hot and was putting on a sparkling dress that was above her knees.“I see you're alone. Would you like me to join you?” She asked with raised brows, and I nodded with a serious face.Indeed, I wanted her to join me, but then I didn't think I was going to spend time here. Besides, it was worse than usual. Today's loneliness was all about why I had left Lia.“You seem troubled. Do you need someone to help you forget all those worries?” She asked and then placed her hands in a purse. “I brought some thi
Johnny's pov.“Yes? Really?!” He exclaimed, and I smiled, nodding my head to his words.“Yes. I know that you are have been trying for too long and besides, the kids are already use to you. It would be nice to also give love a chance. You understand what I mean right?”“Yeah. Thank you so much. I appreciate all you have said. I'm so happy. I don't even know how to express it.”“You can express it anyhow you want to, I don't mind.”His eyes widened. “Should I kiss you on public?”I immediately choked on the drink that I had been sipping all the while.“What?”“Yeah, you asked me to do whatever I want to, and i choose to kiss you. What's wrong with that?”“Nothing. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not bad to kiss your girlfriend in public, but then we just started dating. I literally just answered yes.”I bowed my head, and he smiled. “Well, it seems someone's shy. Your cheeks are burning up red, and you need to see how tensed you are,” he commented, making me sigh.“I know t
Lia's povIt had been six months, and I didn't know what else to say. My life had been wonderful. It had been filled with different new things, and my children were doing extraordinarily well.“I know you're bothered about some things. I feel a lot of things are on your mind.”“Yes… there are a lot of things happening. You can't seem to understand. Things are not as you see them. Johnny is being a good dad, but then I don't think I want to marry him.”“But why don't you want to marry him? He's a good guy, he made you the woman you want to be, and he also wants you to think about it. He wants you to be sure about your decision. I'll be shocked if you can't make the right decision at this point.”“The kids love him, and it seems like there's a lot to understand from this. If you can give him your heart I'm sure everything would be alright.”“Really?”“Yes,” Maya added with a smile. It seemed that she was certain about the fact that Johnny loved me.Anyone would be certain. I guess many
Kira's pov“Doctor please do something!” I growled, watching how he struggled with his life. This was the only ticket I had towards him loving me again.“We're doing all we can. Please relax…” she explained with worry on her mind. It seemed as though things couldn't work out already. My heart was drumming fast, and I seemed a bit confused about all that was going on. It seemed as though my life wasn't in the right state of mind anymore.I had my hands through my hair, and I was breathing hard. My whole life seemed to be awkward.“Please…” I begged, breathing hard. My bad deeds want to catch up with me.I didn't expect all my plans for the past five years to come rumbling down. There was no need for the things to worry. I was worried about the way he was going to react. As soon as I reached there, I paused. My heart drummed like never before, and it seemed as though I was about to die. After many hours, the doctor came out. He was looking pale, and it made me concerned.“What’s wrong?”
Levi's povI didn't even know what to think. What did they mean that there was a possibility that the boy I had trained up as mine was a fake?I was feeling really bad. It felt like my life was about to crumble. How could she do this to me, knowing fully well that I loved her?“It's not what you think, I swear it's not. I know that you've worked on a lot of things, I can tell, but he's your son. I swear to you, he's your son.”I ground my teeth, and my hands remained fisted. I wasn't sure she could trust her. Not after what happened. She was never to be trusted again.“We'll talk about the matter when you get home,” I said, attempting to walk away. However, she held my hands to pull me back. I could see the serious look on her face.“You're leaving because of some stupid test result? Your son is there fighting for his life and you're leaving?!”“My son? You call him my son? I don't even think he has my blood running through my veins. You've been lying to me all these years,” I said an
Kira's povI was seated at the house when one of the guards rushed to me. I was worried and didn't expect things to get worse when he spoke.“Luna Kira, there seemed to have been an accident at your son's school.”My eyes widened, and I stood up from my seat. It seemed like I didn't hear him well enough, or maybe it was my head playing tricks on me.“What did you just say to me? What did you mean by all you have just said? No!” I growled. My hands were shaking.“Hope my son wasn't affected? I asked, wanting to clear the air. He had earlier said there was an accident, and even when there was tension among other children, I cared about my son.”He started shaking. There was something the guard wasn't telling me, and it was making me sick.I was already tempted to do something, but I didn't have enough information about it“What are you trying to say?” I asked with raised brows. “You are keeping quiet for too long. Was my son affected?!” I screamed. The guard, who seemed confused about
Lia's pov“What do you want to call them?” I was shocked by the question because I didn't know what to answer. I was so shocked that I had given birth to triplets. It was so funny how things had turned out to be.“Well, you have to name them. We have kids now, but you can give them names as the mother you are.”I smiled at his words. He was right. I was now a mom, and I had to take a stand on what was going to happen. It didn't matter how.“Hmm, I wonder what I should call them,” I explained, and he smiled.Johnny didn't want to rush me, I was sure, but according to him, the names were needed for the birth certificate.“Can I be given just a little while? I'm sorry that I can't think of a name now because I am stressed.”“Alrighty. There's no problem. I can ask the nurses to give you a few hours to think about it.”I nodded with a smile. A few hours sounded fine. At least I would be able to think of something before then.A smile rested on my lips, and I finally decided to rest my hea
