Chapter five
Levi's POV A smile tilted at the corner of my lips as I admired my reflection in the mirror. I ran my fingers through my hair. I felt different now that Lia and I were no longer together. I was happier with Kira. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and stepped out of my room. Everything was going well for me at the moment, except for the fact that the pack didn't have a Luna. I knew it was only a matter of time before the news of my divorce with Lia spread through the pack. I needed to act fast and make Kira my new Luna. But first, I needed to get her in with the pack elders. “Hey, handsome.” Kira walked up to me in the hallway. I flashed her a smile. My gaze swept through her body as I took in her appearance. She wore the dress I got for her. It was a red dress with a thigh-high slit. She looked stunning in it. “You look so beautiful,” I whispered into her ears. Her cheeks turned red as she blushed hard. She linked her arm with mine and we descended the stairs together. I felt powerful with her beside me. She was elegant and very classy. “Are we meeting with the pack elders today?” She asked. “Yes, my love.” “Do you think they will like me?” She asked in a low voice. “I'm sure they will love you.” I grabbed her chin and gave her a deep kiss on the lips. “Someone is being romantic.” She threw me a seductive smile as we broke the kiss. I suddenly became rock-hard just staring at her highly seductive body. She saw the lust in my eyes and smirked. “Let's get back from the party, mister. Don't hurl me over your shoulder and carry me to the bedroom, please.” We shared a laugh. I opened the car door for her to step in and then got in after her. She places her hand on my chest and leans closer to my body. "You know that," Her hot breath brushes through my skin. *** "Hi, Alpha Liam," I shook hands with the middle-aged Alpha of West Stone. He was one of the most respectable Alpha in the werewolf community. He was loved for his easy going lifestyle "Alpha Levi," He answered, pulling him into a hug instead. "It's been a while since we last saw each other. How have you been?." “I've been doing good. How are you? You look so handsome than the last time I saw you. Your wife must be taking good care of you.” I gestured at the woman beside him. “You can say that again. She spoils me too much.” He laughed. "Alpha Levi," His wife greeted. “Amelia. You look stunning as always.” I said. “Thank you, Alpha.” She made a slight bow. Kira tugged at my arm slightly. She wanted me to introduce myself. I placed my hand on the low of her back and pulled her closer to me. “Allow me to introduce my beautiful date. Alpha Liam, Luna Amelia, meet Kira.” “Hi, nice to meet you.” She extended her hand for her handshake. “Kira.” Alpha Liam called her name as if trying to recall if he knew her. “Nice to meet you too.” He said without accepting Kira’s handshake. Kira dropped her hand, her face flushed with embarrassment. I made soothing circles on her back to console her. “Where is Lia? I haven't seen her today.” Amelia asked. Kira's face fell as she heard those words. My countenance changed and my jaws tightened. “She is not here, Amelia. Kira is.” I said, deliberately adding the last part. “I'm sure that is not what she meant, Levi. Kira is a beautiful lady.” Alpha Liam said. His unspoken words hung in the air. “Not, Alpha Levi. I didn't mean it that way.” Amelia said shyly “We'll leave you two alone,” Liam said before grabbing his wife's arm and walking away. _______ Kira stormed out of the car and marched into the manor. I followed her catching up with her in a few strides. I was brainstorming ways to get her to calm down. I understood her plight. We left the party early. It was terrible. The whole reason we attended in the first place was not even fulfilled. Everyone was asking about Lia. It was irritating to listen to. I was surprised to find out how well-known Lia had become in the few years we were married. We rarely attended any events together. Kira removed her heels as she got to her bedroom. She threw them at the window, shattering it in the process. She ruffled her hair angrily and screamed. "What does she have that I don't, huh? I'm better than her in every way. Why are they so hung up on her?” she yelled. I grabbed her and hugged her tight. I gently stroked her hair. “Give it some time, baby. They will soon fall in love with you when they see how wonderful you are. We just need to show the world that.” “When is that going to be? I want people to accept me soon.” She said, pouting her lips. “They will eventually.” “Levi,” She called, staring deep into my eyes, her face turned serious. “I want you to make me your Luna.” She said, I pulled away from her. “Why are you asking that of me? You know I can't do it.” “Why can't you? You're the Alpha. Everyone listens to you. Don't you love me? Are you deceiving me?” “Kira, of course, I love you. I divorced my wife to be with you. I just can't because I just divorced Luna. People will talk, Kira.” I said. “Excuses. Stupid excuses. If you love me you will make me your Luna.” She said and stormed out, the sound of her sobs trailing behind her. I drew a long sigh. She was right. Everything I said was just an excuse. I could easily make her my Luna if I wanted to but that was the problem. I wasn't ready to make her my Luna yet. I watch as she runs inside screaming and I push my hair back annoyed, Is Kira really worth to be my Luna? I sigh, closing my eyes briefly. 'Did I make a bad choice?'LIA POV “I understand it's too much for you to comprehend, but you have to understand that now is the time when I need you.” I furrowed my brows, my eyes staring at him as he knelt, an atom of shock still on my face. “Be my Luna for a year,” the words were in my head, and I just didn't know how to go about it. My heart hammered in my chest, And i gulped, sweat forming on my forehead. “You're really funny. I know you're worried, but the expression on your face is something else. I didn't ask you to do something crazy, but be my Luna,” his words reached my ears again, making me stand to my feet. “I'm sorry. I'm just really shocked. That's an unusual request for someone who you just met. You want to spend one year with me?” He sighed pushing himself back on his feet, his eyes on me. “That's why you're perfect for the job. One year with a total stranger, who knows?” Johnny paused. “Don't worry; you don't have to worry; I've got you covered. All I need you to do is say yes.” I
Levi's pov. Kira's frustrated sigh left my lips, and I found myself gulping the last content from the bottle of whiskey I opened about thirty minutes ago. Kira wasn't happy ever since I told her I didn't want to marry her now because of what the people would say. She didn't want to look at things from my light. “Why can't she see that I'm trying to protect both our images? I am an alpha and a very successful businessman. People would say I divorced my wife just to be with my side cheek, and I didn't even wait to showcase her.” “Well maybe because you chose her," my wolf muttered, and I ran my hands through my hair and even sighed. She had helped me throughout the times I was married to that cheat, and that's why I decided to be with her because she was really honest, but now I was hurting her. I immediately stood up, pacing around. “Maybe you should pay her a visit.” my wolf suggested, making me sigh. Kira had refused to come out for breakfast, and when I asked, I wa
Kaiden’s pov “Ugh!” I growled, slowly trying to get on my feet. There was a lot on my mind, my heart raced, and I was trying my best to not feel pain, but my body ached badly. I almost had her. She would have been mine if he didn't come to save her. Whoever it was that has saved her was surely a strong person because he had the ability to knock me out. Standing up from my bed, I walked towards the door. It was the knock that had called me to get up from my bed because I had been in pain for the last couple of days. Upon opening the door, I found Kira standing there. She had a serious look on her face, and a frown on her face as well. Her hands were crossed over her chest and she was trying her best not to kill me with her eyes. “You really have to be calm. I don't see a reason why you show up looking this pissed.” “Why are you still here? I thought you said you were going to disappear with her, right?” Kira asked, and I sighed, turning my back towards her as I walked back
Lia’s POV “Mmm…” I groaned as I struggled to sit up on the bed since I had just woken up. Last night was fun. It was the best time of my life since I faced only pain most of the time before. I was still in thoughts, recalling what happened last night when my eyes were directly towards the door. I heard the handle being pulled open, and I was shocked to see Johnny there with a tray in his hands. It contained a lovely breakfast that smelt heavenly “Good morning. Someone looks happy. How are you doing?” He asked as I passed a small smile. I was shocked that an alpha who was supposed to be on a contract with me as his girlfriend was taking it a bit personally. Too personal. “I'm fine. How was your night?” I threw back the same question to him, and he smiled. Indeed, he was trying his best to ensure I was well; maybe he meant every word he said. I thought as I watched him close the door with his legs, and walk closer to where I was with his smile still on. “You were really t
Johnny's POV “Let go of me, stop it now!” Once we were out of the room, my elder sister, Belle, yanked her hands off mine and was breathing hard. Because of how she struggled, she got her hair messy, so she fixed it up, cleaning off her sweat with her handkerchief before glaring at me. “You're not fine. Is this what I expect from you? You told me you can handle the kingdom, but it seems like you're slowly turning into a servant!” She screamed at my face again, and I tried to plead with her to lower her tone. “You want me to stop talking? Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You are something. How can an alpha be holding a tray, and then–” “She's my girlfriend.” At that moment, she paused, and for a second or two, there was total silence until she laughed. “You must be crazy. Are you fucking kidding me?” I asked with raised brows, and she stopped laughing, glaring at me with anger. The seriousness on his face made me lump in my throat. I wasn't scared of my sister, but she
Lai’s pov I was feeling really anxious, and even when I really wanted to stay in bed, I wanted to know what Johnny's sister was going to say about the situation. I didn't know what else to say. I was really really worried. My heart kept drumming, and my eyes were fixed at the door. If only he knew what was on my mind, he would have come to clear my doubt. I ran my hands through my hair and tried to get on my feet. My heart drummed hard, and my lips were dried. If only he knew what was going on. As soon as my worry increased, the door was pushed open, gaining my attention. My eyes were fixed on the door, and he was standing there. Seeing him excited me. I was so happy I was over the moon. Pushing myself up from the bed with the little strength I had gained, I rushed towards him and hugged him tightly. “Are you sure you're fine? You seem anxious. I know you're worried about my sister.” He expressed, his hands touching my hair. I noticed that there was something about him.
Johnny's POV Her determination was too much, but I guess I needed to let her go no matter the circumstances. She was all that was needed to be. There was definitely something else going on here, and even when I didn't know what she had in mind, and why exactly she needed a job, I intended to let her be free. My heart drummed, but then I needed to let her know I cared about her. That was the only way she was going to trust me. “So when are you starting your job hunting?” I asked, sitting on the bed, as I stroked her hair gently. She smiled, maybe trying to convince me she was ready, or maybe she was about to drop the bomb. “I think you shouldn't worry about it, but if you must know, I'm planning on actually going to look for a job in a restaurant.” As soon as I heard that, I was really confused. I didn't know why she would choose such a lovely place. I wanted her to walk somewhere in other to grow her status. I was willing to do anything for her, and I didn't care
Kira's pov I returned home pretty late, but I had a plan in mind. I wanted to go into my room unseen, and then rush to meet with Levi. He must have been waiting for me, and I didn't know what else to do anymore. Once I was able to get to my room without encountering him, I immediately rushed to get ready. There was a smile on my face. I had planned it all, and I knew he wasn't going to be able to forgive me. The rose bath was able to make me feel fresh. My scent amplified, and I smiled happily once I was out. The black lingerie I wore was also really alluring. All these to make sure he didn't take his eyes off me for a split second. “You're looking good. I'm sure he wouldn't be able to take his eyes off you,” my woman responded, as I stared at myself in the mirror while playing with my hair. “Yes you're right, Kiko…” I called the name of my wolf as I made a plan in mind. I was planning how to approach him, and ways to make him fall for me. “Perfect. I'm sur
LIA TWO MONTH LATER I stared through the window to see the kids playing around with kids of maids in the house and it's the most beautiful thing I've seen. After everything they went through two months ago they were pretty outgoing except for Nora She sat at the water fountain watching them with her drawing book and a pencil in her hand. She hated playing with anyone for long and she started drawing on walls before we found out and got her the book After moving in here two months ago I accepted the fact that this wasn't Johnny's home anymore it was ours, he might have lived here once but all his memories had died after he did what he had A knock on the door caught my attention "Come in" I turned away from the window to look at who it was and saw Fiona - a maid with a tray of breakfast "oh, you really didn't have to do this " I reached to reduce the workload on her hand before setting it down "He didn't want the kids disturbing" She brimmed and look to the door to see Levi in an
LEVI As I held Lia close, I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and responsibility that washed over me. I should have been there to protect her, to prevent this from happening. But I was too late. The damage was done. All I could do now was try to make it right, to help her heal from the trauma she had endured. I looked down at Lia, her eyes closed, her face pale and drawn. I could see the fear and anxiety still etched on her face, even in sleep. I knew it would take time for her to recover, to feel safe again. But I was willing to do whatever it took to help her, to support her through this difficult time. I gently stroked her hair, trying to comfort her, to reassure her that she was safe now. The police were still processing the scene, taking statements and collecting evidence. I knew there would be a long investigation ahead, but for now, I just wanted to focus on Lia, on helping her to heal. As I stood there, holding Lia close, I couldn't help but think about how fragile lif
LEVIThe news hit me like a physical blow, a wave of nausea washing over me. Lia. And the children. My heart hammered against my ribs, a frantic drumbeat echoing the terror that clawed at my throat. I had to find them.I called the police, my voice trembling as I relayed the details. Then, I raced to the park, every sense on high alert. I searched frantically, my eyes scanning the ground, the trees, any sign, any clue that might lead me to them. And then I saw it. A small, almost imperceptible glint of metal on the side of a nearby building. A CCTV camera. A flicker of hope, a lifeline in the sea of despair. I might have heard from Ella but I don't trust herI rushed towards the building, my mind a whirlwind of frantic thoughts. I had to see the footage. I had to know what happened. The building manager, a kind-faced woman, looked at me with concern when I explained the situation. My position in the community, as a well-respected businessman, thankfully, carried weight. She immediatel
LEVI "Any luck yet?" Sir James asked as I stepped into the room and all the elders turned to looked at me "You look absolutely horrible" Sir Felix said and I tried to push out a smile but it was impossible I felt how I really look like. We still going find Lia anywhere. The mate bond was messing with my head as I can really no longer function correctly "There's none" I looked up to Sir James and he gave a sad smileEven if some of the elders hated then the idea of Lia coming back they knew too well that it was a bad idea to tip me off in this stage. Johnny and Kira were also now found and Ella was found in the hospital with a head injury but she was still unconscious "Go to the hospital, Levi. Hide your real identity and go and meet Ella. She was also one of the kid's baby sitters and she might be the answer we all need at this point" My spine straightened as that got my attention knowing it might be true Nana was questioned and the poor woman was now scared to death but Ella on
JOHNNY I looked at her shiver as she held on to the kid with all her heart. It was a cute way but my wolf was inching for blood to be drawn, Lia's blood precisely and then the kids and absolutely no one will know because they are down here Out of everyone elses reach. The excitement I felt within the dept of my stomach couldn't possibly be described I knew the kids had been given a new dosage of drugs when I had picked them from the room which meant they will be asleep got forty eight more hours which gives them a peaceful death Too bad but Lia on the other hand "What do you want?" She asked with her body trembling with fear and if my joy wasn't in excess before then it was now "You""Johnny please spear them, they are just kids. If you're worried about their memories of you and revenge then you don't have to worry because they are just kids in a matter of months they will forget about all of it" Tears rolled her eyes and I stood up from the chair I was sitting on "That doesn't
JOHNNY My plan has come to end and everything went as planned. Kira sad on her way to Levi and I had Lia and the kids with me just like I wanted. I looked at my computer to see her tied up in the corner of the cell I guess it's time I pay a visit to someone. Twisting my lips into a smirk I got up from the chair and went downstairs to meet her, the place has been silent ever since she murdered Ella It had taken me completely by surprise that she would kill her but after I watched the footage I was convinced otherwise and left speechless, how could I not love a woman who could defend herself against anyone except meI pushed door open and she lifted her head from the cell to look at me, her eyes burning with fury and though her face had a trace if purple and a bit of swelling due to fighting with the guards, this woman had never looked more beautiful "You aren't eating" i muttered as I opened the door and stench on blood and food filled my nostrils but I ignored it and walked in"An
LEVI My phone rang in my pocket and I ignored it like I had done the last thirty minutes. I hated that I felt so hopeless about the situation, the phone rang again and I groaned in frustration to see that it was my Beta "What is it?""She's no where to be seen. I have locked the beta of the back like you have said there's no one important anymore. What's the next line of order?" I remained quiet as disappointment crashed against my heart "Go home and rest, let everyone hurt het medical attention.""You're giving up?""Do as you're told, don't question me" I hung up before he got the chance to say anything and I stepped into the car to sit down Even if Kira had left an hour ago I had stayed behind and fought ten different people who obviously wanted to kill me because of Johnny but honestly didn't know where to do check anymore I have warriors searching every edge of this place and no one has found anything, the only trail being Nathan was gone. His scent was enough evidence for m
LEVII sat in my office and the files that were staring back at me were about to really get burn. Nothing else matter to me, it's been a month and I still couldn't find her or the kids. Business was completely trash and I have every single investor and shareholder I've known withdrawing each day My phone buzzed on my table which made me startle a bit and I let out a heavy sigh before I picked the phone"Having fun on your search?" The sound of the modulator sent a chill down my spine and anger spiral up my throat "Joh... Anthony whatever fucking war we have between us leave them out if this!""Who's Anthony?""Don't play dumb with...""Lia is a bloody mess and the kids are dead" My spine jerked up and my heart flew out of my buddy as a chill air made me freeze "That's not pos... Hello? Hello!" I looked at the screen to see that he was hung up and called him again "The number you're trying..." I threw the phone across the room as I heard the customer care line No, no, no, this can
LIAI stared at Ella, my mind reeling with questions, my heart heavy with sorrow. She didn't seem to notice, her expression unreadable. "Ella, please," I whispered, my voice cracking. "Tell me what's going on. Why are you here?" She didn't respond, didn't even flinch almost like she didn't know who I was and this was her first time seeing me. It was as if she was a statue, a mere shell of the person I once knew. I felt a chill run down my spine. What had they done to her? Had they brainwashed her, manipulated her into betraying me? The thought sent a wave of nausea washing over me. I struggled against the restraints, desperate to break free, to escape this nightmare. But they held firm, biting into my skin like cold metal teeth. Ella's gaze flickered to the children, and for a moment, I hoped to see a glimmer of recognition, of compassion but I saw nothing but blankness. But it was quickly extinguished, replaced by a mask of indifference. "They're fine," she said, her voice flat,
