CHAPTER 2(PRESENT TIME)

Darkness enveloped the entire area,yet Gavin and Khez's condition remained unchanged as if the darkness had never ended. 

Khez had no idea that Heark had returned to her after they had split up Heark was just armed with an ax and a flashlight as he approached to the location. 

The entire place is enveloped in deafening quiet scary and standing feathers. 

The opponents will attack soon

Their expressions are filled with terror since one false action could result in to death. 

Heark is on his way to his goal he had no idea that he was being followed by the opponents which they also callled 'The Walking Half Man' but it's also known as 'the red eyed dead,'the fact that these are similar to a zombies.

When the red-eyed deads will move it was too loud so obviously heark will reacted automatically as he was well-versed in the use of battle weapons as he had his dark secrets behind it all.He was determined to find Khez,despite of the darkness since he knew she was still alive and most of all he trust Khez more than anyone else.

With more than 10 opponents,he immediately dodged every strike he really is well-versed as if he was born to be like this.

He inhaled deeply and whipped the ax around the neck almost simultaneously as he yanked everything out,and now his previous pink clothes appeared to be black it was the blood stains from the opponents.

He knew another bloods would flow again tonight that he'd lost enough people and he wasn't going to let it happen again. 

Looking in Heark's eyes would we definitely distinguish how sad and how much he's longing for Khez is.

Why this location remained unfamiliar to me even it was all dark beyond our endeavor I can sense what road we walk in to,but this seems to be wrong. 

We've been travelling all night and it appears that darkness has joined us,the longest night without a day at first I was devastated when I knew it myself alone that it would have the possibility that it won't be back in normal again but in every fight I have between in our opponents all I can say is I used to be it.

"Gavin,we need to rest we have enough this day we walk as if it is infinite"

I softly inquired,his face perplexed by what I had said I know him.

"It appears that you're deep in thought what are you thinking?" 

"I'm thinking where we can rest we only see a hundred roads"he explained as he looked away,then he walk faster and look ahead again.

"Did you hear what I have heard? Someone is ahead of you" Gavin inquired, perplexed. 

"Let's hurry and catch them alive,whomever they are"

I was given courage and we ran where's the noise coming from as if they were chatting to each other and someone was fighting they are too noisy I wonder if they were thinking about the situation now maybe they were attack by the opponent because of their loud sounds.

But when we reach them out they suddenly pointed the sniper towards in our directions.

I stopped in an instants

"Stay still,you'll die if you'll move"the girl voice heared infront of us and it seems too familiar I was about to asked who they are when Gavin answered them

"And if we don't want to?"Gavin the mischievous shout back and it made me even more annoyed.

"Shut up Gav we can be shot in no time"I angrily reminded him.

"Who are you?Introduce yourself properly if you still want to live"it was a serious command on the other side and also a warning signal.

"Khezlyri but they called me Khez" I formally introduce myself though.

"Khez is that you?"Eager question were asked across.

"We're here khez,finally"

That's how happy I was to meet them again thought our paths would never cross again in this realm where you can think only about yourself where you can do such inhumane things in order to save yourself,this chaos worlds makes a persons traumatized and being asked theirselves whom they're allies and foes.

"Where's Mark and the other colleagues?" I asked Lilibeth but suddenly her expressions become soft and sad.

"Mark is on the tree he's resting,let's go follow me"I followed her and that's how I reacted from what I had saw,my tears quickly rolled down on my cheeks I automatically wiped them out on the back of my hand,this place is not too afar from the roads there's a tree in line so we could hide if they will come to haunt us again.

"we don't have enough medicine so we can't sew his wounds"Beth nodded after she explained.

It was as if I had lost my strength when I saw the other's situations,Mark was the worst of all he was too young for this hence he's so brave to face upon everybody's fears.

He is the youngest of us I feel sorry for his current situation he was dying and I couldn’t imagine how many wounds he had with deep and broken bones.

"Mark don't worry we'll treat you okay? Just be patient"My voice broke after I told him,I smiled hard to show him we're just here for him that no matter what happens we won't leave him alone.

"Khez,don't do it I won't be there anymore" he answered me with tears in his eyes as if he wanted to send something,It makes my heart broke even more If I could do something I will do it in return of Marks life I will do anything just please don't leave me Mark

"No"my tears finally flowed down to my cheeks,I have a hard time to stop it from falling I even looked up because I was expecting that it will not falling again but I was wrong all the way.

"Don't say that everything will be fine,we'll fight okay until there's none of them will be left We will crash and break them into pieces"I said in the middle of crying while patting his head,please I had enough please don't do this I'm begging.

"Khez can I ask you a favor?"He asked me with a smile

"Sure whatever I will do it"I replied back to him and forcely smiled I want to show him that everything's alright.

"Can you look out for my parents when I'm gone my brother will cry when I can't come home,he and my sister will cry can you do it?"he cried for a long time and so as like him we also cried in pain and in disppear

"Can you just kill me and end this pain please I'm begging you this is my last favor"

"No! No I won't do that Mark please don't be like this,aren't we going to fight?Aren't you the one who said that God won't leave us?"I reminded him I want us to be together while fighting we had already lost a lot,I thought I could handle it I thought I could make it but why I can't why?There is nothing more painful than to end the person's life,the person you had cherish the most the person I love.

"Khez if you love me you'll do it I'm too much a burden to you- "

"You've never been like that the truth is, even though you're stubborn you haven't been a burden to us,we love you Mark you're like a younger brother to me."Tears continued to flow just like the rivers no one can stop it from flowing.

"I won't be angry with you when you do this please sister have mercy on me I'm tired why can't I just die if I'm just going to die anyway why do I have to suffer like this please do it now" he cried as he pleaded me It's like my heart being stabbed with a dagger I see him cried a lot and it was all in pain and it hurts.

Please this is enough.

There is a part of me to do what he wants but I can't,I can't end his life I have no right

But when I see that he is having a hard time and suffering all of these I want to end it too but how?

I finally stood up and took the Dagger out from my waist and it cost to shakes my body I'm crying while looking at him.

Lilibeth pat my shoulder I know she will do the same so I did the right thing but the most saddest part I've encounter surely this scene will pop up in my mind again and again.

"Mark I'm so sorry don't worry I will do your requests even if it's hurting me alot you always makes my heart broke but I want to tell you,you have done more than enough Mark you're such a lovely boy I have met don't worry I will avenge you dear I love you remember that always"and my tears continued to flow as I slowly stabbed him with my own hands I closed my eyes in pain for to him my hands are shaking even more and my body as well.

Before he could finally catch his breath he said something first and that was the word "thank you goodbye friend".

I can’t quite imagine that in the middle of the battles it would end like this,I don’t think about anything but just only myself

I blamed myself why this all happened. Why do I always suffer and even innocent people were also suffering from my greed and selfishness.

The happy memories we had of the days we met came back as it flashes over in my mind.I know we didn't know each other on a normal day but even so, it was natural for him to be friendly.

I will never forget you friend until again

I just felt when someone hugged me tightly and I knew in myself that I felt better.

"It's not your fault khez,you just did the right thing"Gavin stroked my hair once 

"Where are the rest of our colleagues? Where is Heark?"I asked him

"We were also worried khez,since he left us under there in the hole where we were all hiding we never saw him again" explained one of them

"All I know is he followed you minutes ago before we got there he left immediately without any words"another explained.

Again I felt apprehension I knew that night will never be safe,there's no day and place where we could finally feel the safety and freedom.

"Just stay still here, I'll get him back" I immediately insisted and preparing my weapons before I will invade.

"Don't go there khez it's better us to stay here" Lilibeth restraint me.

"as if he can save my Heark"Ella said after she join in at our topic.

"Stop it Ella,if we still be like these there's nothing change!"Lilibeth shouted at Ella.

"Listen to me,go to a safe place I know one of you knows this place." 

I turned to Ellalou and pointing her out

And then I turned to the other comrades

"I'll take two of you who wants to come with me"I asked them 

"I'll come with you khez" Gavin said voluntarily I just nodded at him.

"All right,let's start and fight them all together"

We made our way back to our destination as the sky was angry at this time maybe the ethereal is with us.

I raised my head to look at the sky it was overcast and the heavy rain continued to fall,heavy rain and muddy roads.
