CHAPTER 1(PRESENT TIME)

"Let's run faster before they will catch us"Heark said horribly.

It's been five days and three nights of running and hiding to the places where we could feel that there is no chasing after us,with no rest,food,shelter,or even a drop of water. 

We keep running and hiding as much as we can do anything just to live and it feels like there's no end in sight.

"my legs!"Mark shouted out of his lungs when he got hurt himself while running just like us,we came to a halt and help him as much as we could.

"Khez,hand me the first aid kit"Heark silently asked me for it I was unable to bear Mark's situation right now so as fast as I could I handed it to him.

I stopped as well as them,we despirately wanted to keep alive until in the end.

Mark cried and I felt his pain through his expressions and tears,I never saw like these before.

Heark suddenly glance at my side,I was shock with his expression I can't discribe what is it but I guess this is not as good as we always want to hear.

"Please go I can handle myself and Mark it's difficult if were in together there's a possibility that none of us can escape this chaos so go I'll look after him"he promised us,I can see the pain in his eyes.

"However-"he cut me off before I could complete my sentence I guess this is it where we slit up and parted ways we only had one goal which is to survive wheather in a group or yourself alone as long as you can escape them and make it alive until the end.

"JUST DO WHAT I'VE SAID if we come together now,there's a chance that none of us will be left so go ahead and follow what I have said"Heark said quitely but it's obviously his blood pressured raised up through his voice.

"I'm not leaving Heark if this is my last I'm thankful that I'll be able to keep my memories alive until the end of my life."I uttered it as tears streamed down on my cheeks and most painfully,I felt their suffering fears of dying and losing hope from here to the back I could clearly feel the hope of life in their eyes as I gazed at them one by one,You have to close your eyes before they could find you.

Yes the half portion of us are being blindfolded,last days we have been discovered that they only chase you if they can barely see your eyes they are craving for human's eye that's why they will haunt you whereever you go,so you'd better close your eyes before it's too late this is not a death threats but a warning.

Heark treated the wound on Mark's legs 

"Okay,if that is all you want"he said 

"King X,they've arrived, what are we going to do?"inquired one of our perplexed colleagues and they all put on their blindfolds instantly. 

"Don't move and stay still if you want to live"I softly told the others

I took my lone Browning automatic sniper rifle from the shelf I'm not sure how far it went I dashed to a hotel's rooftop climbing to the stairwell as quickly as I could to avoid being discovered. 

I walked the length of the room where I planned to ascend It's difficult for me to die so soon and if I did I wish I had traveled further back in time,so that I can considered myself as an useful ally.

When I saw no one and felt safe here I walked up to the rooftop door and was just as happy as I was when the cold breeze hit me I knew I wouldn't be here for long so I acted quickly. 

I was placed in a nice and orderly manner right away I aimed my sniper at the undead opponents and fired a single shot at their heads It's time for a headshot! 

I'am enjoying what I'm doing and I'm also good at it,I'm not paying attention to my current situation right because what concerns me right now is the safety of our accompany on the ground I'm doing these for them and not just for myself though.

I'm sure most of us have no idea how to fight them back using whatever weapons are.

"Khez there's one on your back you better get out of there immediately!"Someone was yelling at the ground it was enough for me to heared it I went back to the point where he had taught it. 

I took aim with my sniper and saw a man, or should I say undead half-man?He was getting closer and closer to me I'm only confident because I still have the necessary weapons that I needed 

I would have touched the trigger of but something's went wrong the bullet has gone vanished.Fear gripped me and my body started to shake and I couldn't wait for him to approach me I'm sure they're a lot since they only have one goal which is to killed us one by one he's ruthless and selfish when it comes to killing.

So I dashed to the exit door to get away from him I ran from here to the 27th floor, which was too high for me to go down the stair and and I fell without noticing it I had hard time and heavy breath when I stepped on something I recognized. 

“Arghh!”I endured until I stood up and continued walking down the stairs,because of what I had felt which is the pain I could no longer to run I think I couldn't make it this time.

That's how surprised I was when I saw there wasn't just one person on top if there weren't five of them after me; their bodies were crawling with worms they were terrified to look as theri bone where being crack and it has out in their skins their eyes turned red when they will saw your natural eyes,Blood stains and pungent scents abound. 

“RUN!”I screamed loudly at those pursuing me I promptly entered an open elevator the option what I had been tap is still not working how many time I tap it again and again,the longer I stayed in the elevator the more scary it become.

They're on their way, and they're chasing me down I had no other option with this I had enough today,If I will go out in elevator they surely catch me up.

And there's only one thing I can say in these times:"I will live if I don't die." 

I waited with my eyes closed for them to consume my flesh. But then the elevator doors slammed shut I envelope with a smile and relieve as it closed by.

"Hays,what a relief"I felt relieved but as the door closes there's hand appears and I have no choice but to slash it I had no idea how to utilize weapons until they arrived Blood quickly spilled out.This color of ink isn't the same as normal blood where a viscous,foul-smelling is spreading all over the area.

I'm deep of my thought when it goes down no one knows what will happen to me.

Nobody knows what awaits me on the ground no one has ever embraced me when I've returned home since that time. I'd preferer none,if there is one will wait for me i'd rather better go home alone than they will wait for me and then eat my flesh and satisfied them all with my body.

But seriously like what I've said in my mind there's such like this he smile at me it gives me much creeps.I swung my bowie dagger across the room but what he did is astounded me Is it possible that he's simply avoiding my throws? 

I thought they will not be moving right away after my throws And I'm sure they don't deviate while they're stoned but why is that? 

"Fuck"I step back while covering my face with my bare hands I don't know since I was suddenly concerned about him Imean I never expect that this will gonna happens like how did he avoids and hold one of my dagger?I think they are right People are meant to be scarier than ghosts because they have the ability to harm you. 

"Can you tell me why did you naturally did that?"I asked out of curiousity.

"What?" he enquired cynically smiling Is this real?I'm blown away.

"what? Are you saying something?"I can't believe that he can speak.

"Are you going to murder me right now?" "Yes unless you beg"he said with a smile and smirking at me?What

"Please don't kill me"I pleaded rubbing my palms together,Yes just like this I have a great plan dude.

"And why do I have to do that?"

"Because if I die no one can kill you in short,I can't kill you"I answered him directly and sneered immediately but he was simply stronger than me I was stunned by my folly who would not be harmed.I felt so small and dumb because I used one of my damaged foot so fool.

"why do you keep fighting when you know you're going to lose at first?"He gave a strange laugh. 

Oh? Seriously?

"You're so foolish,are you aware of that?" 

"Oh sorry,I don't know HA HA HA but you were an idiot,"he said while he threw his knife at my arm before I could get away 

I was in excruciating pain from the blade of the knife he was wielding at me I don't want to show him that I'm weak because of what he did he's a human being I am being fooled recently he just using some make ups just looks like one of them

I'm on my knees now weakening from the pain which I believed it is also the poison and it slowly consuming my energy I'm waiting for his next attack but nothing has ever happened yet.

"Hey"a familiar voice I heared behind me I gently raised my eyes to him I noticed his delighted smile on his lips As I watch with delight I have the thoughts that everything is perfect and secure. 

"G-Gavin you are here" I couldn't believe he'd come to rescue me I leapt to my feet and embraced him fiercely.He held me back and massaged my head assuring me that all will be fine despite of my agony and loneliness I sobbed happily in his embrace relieved that I was protected by him again.

We've been strolling since my treatment, and neither of us has said anything yet. 

We have yet to learn which continent they visited While bowing I softly inquired 

"I thought you were dead." 

"Seriously I'm the only one looking for you, so you're looking for me as well?"he said with a smile.

"Of course why not?" 

But he just smiled.

I'm not sure where he came from. 

I've known him since the beginning all of these but I'll admit that I've always had my doubts about him. 

We need to find a secure place to breathe because it's becoming dark outside, but where should we go,Gavin and I have been travelling the unending road for nearly five hours with only our footsteps and breath can be hear and only a flashlight between us.

"Can you tell me where we're heading to Gavin?"I was serious when I asked him. 

"I also don't know"he says flatly making me apprehensive we have no idea where we are maybe we are lost but can we make it until the end?
