Daisy's POV

It was just after 11 PM. The kids had finally settled down, and the silence in the house was the kind that made you uneasy rather than calm. I sat by the kitchen island, fingers wrapped around a cup of lukewarm tea I no longer wanted to drink. My eyes darted to the window every few seconds. Ever since I received that photograph, my nerves haven't rested.

Lycan hadn’t texted back. That was already strange enough.

Then came the knock.

Three soft taps. A pause. Then two more.

Not Lycan. Not the nanny. I froze in place.

I walked carefully to the door. My heart thudded in my chest, but I kept my face calm. I peered through the peephole and saw a man I didn’t recognize.

He wasn’t threatening. But his eyes said he knew things.

I opened the door just a crack. "Yes?"

"Mirah sent me," he said immediately. His voice was quiet. Steady. "Roan. I’m not here to hurt you."

I opened the door a little wider. He looked older than Lycan, rough around the edges, like someone who'd seen things he couldn't forget. But his posture was neutral, respectful.

"Mirah told me to trust you," I said quietly.

He nodded. "May I come in? This isn't something we should talk about on a doorstep."

I stepped aside. "But only for a few minutes. The kids are sleeping."

He nodded again and walked in slowly, his eyes scanning the room with quiet precision.

We sat in the living room. I didn’t offer him tea. He didn’t ask.

"You know about Rosa, right?" he started.

"Of course."

"Then you need to know she’s doing more than just trying to ruin your life. She’s building something. A faction. Secret. Underground. And she wants your children."

My fingers tightened on the cushion beside me. "Why?"

"Because of what they are. What they could be."

I swallowed. "They’re just kids."

He shook his head. "Not to her."

He reached into his jacket and pulled out a small, weathered folder. Inside were papers. Photos. A list of names.

At the top were my children’s names.

"How did she get their names?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Someone close to you is feeding her information. And it’s not just Lycan."

My stomach dropped.

"There’s a spy?"

"More than one, maybe. Rosa's smarter than most give her credit for. She’s been planning this since before your kids were born. I believe she tampered with your pregnancy."

My throat tightened. "What are you saying?"

"I’m saying Rosa might have manipulated something... maybe even how your children were conceived. Their strength, their gifts, their potential. She wanted them to be born for a reason."

I stood up. I needed air.

Roan remained seated. "I know this is a lot. But you need to hear it. She marked them. If she gets them, she can claim them as her own. And by some rogue laws, she might even have a legal argument."

"She’ll never get them," I snapped.

Roan met my eyes calmly. "Not if we move now."

I paused. "Move where?"

"Mirah has a safe location. Off-grid. Protected. But you need to leave soon. Tonight if possible."

I looked down the hallway. I could hear the faint sound of Aria coughing in her sleep.

"What about Lycan?"

"Because once, I protected someone who loved you. He asked me to keep you safe."

I took the photo, hands trembling.

"He said, 'One day, she’ll need help and I won’t be there. Make sure she gets it.'"

"Who?" I whispered.

"Your real father."

The world stopped spinning.

Roan stepped back. "Pack what you need. I’ll wait by the car. We leave at twenty."

As the door shut behind him, I stood frozen, a photo clutched in my hand, and an old truth clawing its way back to the surface.

Everything I knew was about to change.

Daisy’s POV

Roan drove us through the forest with no headlights, using only the moonlight and his memory. The kids were asleep in the backseat, cuddled together, not knowing their world had just changed again. I sat in the front seat holding a photo of me and Dickson. Roan said my real father gave it to him. I didn’t know what to believe.

But right now, I had a bigger problem. Lycan.

He stopped calling me. No texts, no messages. And when Lycan goes quiet, it means something bad is coming.

Roan spoke softly. "We’re almost there. Fifteen more minutes. It’s not fancy, but it’s safe."

"Safe how?" I asked.

"The place is hidden. Only Mirah and I know how to get in. It has barriers and a locked gate."

I nodded. For now, that had to be enough.

Lycan’s POV

She left.

I stood outside Daisy’s house. It was quiet, cold, and empty. Just like five years ago. But this time, she took everything. Even the kids.

Rosa appeared behind me. "She ran because you scared her. She never loved you."

I didn’t respond.

"She thinks Roan will save her," Rosa scoffed. "Are you going to let him?"

"I already put a tracker in her phone. We’ll find her."

Rosa smiled. "Good. Let’s ruin Dickson while we’re at it."

Daisy POV

Roan carried the kids into a small secluded building. I waited outside for Mirah. She arrived, tired but focused.

"Look at this," she said, showing me a video on her phone.

It was Lycan Breaking into my apartment. Using a code only I knew.

"He copied your phone," Mirah whispered.

My chest tightened. "He’s been after us, after we won the last incident. He is watching us."

"Yes. If he found that place, he can find this one too."

Roan added, "We need proof. Real proof. Something to break Lycan and Rosa."

"What kind of proof?" I asked.

"They signed a contract. Business and personal. If we find it, we break their team."

"Then I’m coming with you," I said firmly.

Lycan’s Office

Rosa stood by the window. "Roan knows."

Lycan sipped his drink. "It doesn’t matter. Daisy will be under my control once the paperwork is done."

"And the kids?"

"They’ll be mine."

Rosa frowned. "You want to be their father?"

Lycan smirked. "No. I want power."

They didn’t see the camera flashing across the street.

Someone was watching them too.

It was still dark outside when Mirah and I left the secluded building. Roan stayed behind with the kids. I trusted him now. He had no reason to lie. He had protected my father’s last words. That had to mean something.

We reached the edge of town just before sunrise. The building where Lycan kept his private records was quiet. Too quiet.

Mirah parked around the back. "We go in, grab the files, and leave. Fast."

I nodded. My heart was beating fast. This wasn’t something I was used to doing. But I needed answers. I needed the truth about my kids.

Inside the building, Mirah moved like she’d done this before. She hacked the door in seconds. We slipped through empty hallways until we reached a locked office door.

"His," she whispered.

I watched as she picked the lock. Inside was Lycan’s office. Cold. Clean. Controlling. Just like him.

She went to the cabinet and opened the second drawer. Inside were folders, neatly arranged.

She pulled one out and handed it to me. "Here it is. DNA results."

I opened the folder.

What I saw made my legs weak.

My children.

All four.

Dickson was the father.

She already showed this before which I know and I almost told Dickson about the whole scenario.

"Yes. I ran them myself when they were born," Mirah said.

Tears filled my eyes. I had hidden the truth from him for years. To protect myself. To protect the kids.

Now, the truth was here. It couldn’t be hidden anymore.

But just as we were about to leave, I saw another folder. It had Rosa’s name on it.

I opened it.

Inside were records. Experiments. Details of how she tracked me, watched my pregnancy, and used spells to try changing their fate.

I dropped the file, my hands shaking.

"She wanted to own them," I whispered.

Mirah nodded. "Now we know."

Dickson

I sat in my office, staring at a file Rosa had given me the night before. It was a DNA test.

It said I wasn’t the father.

I didn’t believe it.

Something about the paper felt off. It was too clean. Too convenient.

I needed answers.

Just then, Roan walked in.

He looked serious. "I have something you need to see."

He handed me a photo. The real DNA results.

I stared at the paper.

My name.

All four kids.

Mine.

I stood up, heart beating fast. "Where is she? Where’s Daisy?"

Roan didn’t answer.

But I knew.

I had to find her. Now.

I know if I don't, I won't really know the truth, she truly wants to tell me about then kids being my mine during the fire accident.

She once said I should stay away from them, for their safety which I agree to.

But I promise not to cross my boundaries, but my goal is to punish anyone that wants to fabricate my children's DNA and also after Daisy's life I will punish them all.

Daisy's POV I lay on the bed as I watched Dickson sleep so quietly. I can not help but smile at how cute he looks while fast asleep. After lodging at a hotel, I had to move him back to my place around 5am in the morning because it felt awkward if I and Dickson slept together at a hotel. Dickson told me he needed more sleep and that we would talk once the day became bright. Clearly, he was still slightly tipsy from last night's drinking and needed more rest so I allowed him to sleep. The time is already 8am, courtesy to the clock hanging carelessly on the wall. I want to wake him up because I have a bad feeling that his new mate, Rosa might walk in on us but at the same time, I want Dickson to have enough rest.Even after everything he did for me last night, I still love Dickson and a part of me is holding out for him to return back to his senses.
