“Meeting adjourned.” Alvin shouted. He was standing in front of everyone. “Thank you so much for attending this important meeting.”

All of the members of the board finally leave the conference room. Alvin was closing his laptop when his newly hired secretary—Maddie, entered the room.

“Mr. Sebastiano—” Maddie called.

“What’s wrong? Is there anything I can help you with?” Alvin raised his eyebrows.

“Your phone kept on ringing, Sir!”

Alvin heaved a sigh. “Who’s my caller?”

“It’s Steven from Delacruz food corp.”

Agad na kinuha ni Alvin ang cellphone niya mula sa kamay ng kan’yang sekretarya. Sumakto namang nag-ring ito muli kaya mabilis niya itong sinagot.

“Steven, hello—”

Halos dumulas ang cellphone ni Alvin mula sa kanyang kamay matapos niyang marinig ang sinabi ni Steven mula sa kabilang linya.

“W-what did you just say, S-Steven?” Alvin said in a cracky voice.

[“Jade went missing. I’m already here at the villa but she’s not yet here.”]
