Chapter 2

The Somners could finally get rid of a burden like Finn. This was great news to them.

Yvonne was the prettiest and smartest member of the Somners. She was considered a huge resource to the family.

This was especially so when her new lover happened to be from a local influential family with a long history and strong background.

The Somners were considered new money, and their standing in society was still considered weak. They had to join a strong family if they wanted to plant deeper roots in Creek Valley.

Once Yvonne was single again, they would be able to do that through marriage and further strengthen the Somners' status.

With Finn requesting a divorce, it was the best news for the Somners. Moreover, Finn did not ask anything of them, so the Somners would not suffer any losses.

This was wonderful.

"You said it yourself, Finn!"

"There's no regretting this."

"Sign the papers right now, Yvonne!"

Every Somner began speaking at once.

Yvonne was taken aback. She looked at the man in front of her, who seemed different than before. Finn used to stay silent all the time, keeping everything to himself. He was a standard good-for-nothing.

However, even the look in Finn's eyes was different now. There was confidence in them, and it showed in the way he carried himself too. He was like a rare glow of light that had previously been hidden but was suddenly shining bright in the world.

Divorce was something that Yvonne had always wanted but somehow, she felt a slight sense of loss within her at this moment. It felt like something important was slipping through her fingers.

Yvonne signed the papers numbly under the coercion of her family members.

The divorce was now in effect!

"Alright. The papers have been signed. You should get lost now, Finn!"

"Yeah! You've been leeching off us for the past three years, but we'll let it go. Get lost now."

"Get lost!"

The Somners showed their true colors after the papers were signed. All of them laughed out loud.

Finn put away the divorce papers quietly and said, "Now that we're divorced, it's time for me to collect my debt from the Somners."

"What debt?"

"You've finally revealed your true colors, Finn!"

"It's money you want, isn't it? Tell us how much you want. Is one million enough?"

"You've already signed the divorce papers. It's up to us whether we pay you anything at all!"

The Somners scoffed at him.

Finn remained unaffected by the insults thrown at him. He said coolly, "When I married into the Somners, I loaned your family the 50 million dollars left to me by my family because you wanted to expand your company. No one made any mention of it after that. Give me back my money.

"Secondly, I believe everyone here knows about how the Somners have bullied and insulted me for the past three years. You owe me for that! This is especially true for Chester Somner, who even beat me up. I want him to kneel in front of me and apologize!

"Thirdly, Yvonne didn't perform her duty as a wife and seduced random men while she was still married to me. She wasn't virtuous in our marriage. I want her to apologize to me publicly and admit that she's a slut!

"If the Somners are able to conduct all of the above, I promise to let bygones be bygones."

The Somners were taken aback to hear Finn's three demands, and they immediately burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Who do you think you are, Finn?"

"Let bygones be bygones? Don't make me laugh. What right do you have to do that? You're lucky enough that we're not making you pay for leeching off us for the past three years!"

"Do you think you're still the young heir of the Chapmans from more than a decade ago? Wake up and stop dreaming!"

"You're pretty shameless with your words. Get lost! We won't even give you five grand, much less 50 million!"

Chester was the first to make a fuss about this.

Finn stared at the Somners coldly. It was only 50 million. He did not mind the money. The money he made for the Somners alone was valued at least billions. However, he wanted to get back what was his. It was only right to do so.

His gaze fell on Emma. She was the one who made the decisions in the Somner household. It was now down to her.

Emma might be getting up there in years, but she was still high-spirited. There was a condescending look in her eyes as well.

"What are you looking at me for, Finn? Do you think I'll agree to your demands? That 50 million was your dowry to the Somners. You have no right to get it back. As for your two other demands, don't even think about them!

"Now that you and Yvonne are divorced, you should get out right now."

"Get out of the Somners!"

Everyone began shouting as well.

If it were not Emma's birthday and their house was filled with honorable guests, the Somners would have gotten security to throw Finn out.

"Alright. Very well! You reacted exactly how I expected you to. You didn't disappoint me at all. Since you've chosen to be this way, I'll take back everything I've given to the Somners! You can go back to being a third-rate family!"

Finn did not say anything more after getting his answer. He made the decision quietly.

Just as the Somners were about to kick Finn out, their butler came running in.

"Some strange people have just arrived outside," he said.

"Who are they? Just kick them out!" Chester said with disdain.

"We aren't able to get rid of them. The man in charge only said one thing."

"What is it?"

"We travel beyond heaven under the cloudy sky."

The Somners repeated the words and found it strange.

What did those words mean?

The look on Emma's face suddenly changed as she said, "That sounds like the slogan for Beyond Heaven!"

"Beyond Heaven? What's Beyond Heaven?" Almost all of the Somners had not heard of this.

"It's a legendary organization that operates mainly overseas. Rumor has it that they have connections all around the world and possess limitless assets and resources. They even train many powerhouses who are elite fighters. Even powerful countries aren't brave enough to cross them.

"Also, it's said that their leader is from our country, Draconia!"

The Somners were astonished. They had no idea an organization like that existed.

"All of you must have heard of Sky Deity. That's the most renowned organization in the country right now, but their connections are limited only within Draconia while Beyond Heaven is an organization that can't be crossed overseas.

"They recently established a branch in Draconia, and many families are trying their best to join them. The only family who has succeeded in joining Beyond Heaven is the current top family, the Mallards. But even they are just members in name and are unable to enter the core group in Beyond Heaven."

Emma was knowledgeable and knew a lot of insider information that she was now sharing with the rest.

It was the first time the Somners had heard of this. Beyond Heaven was really powerful.

However, what were they doing at the Somner residence?

"Did they say what they're doing here?" Emma quickly asked.

If this mysterious organization were here to give the Somners trouble, they would be finished. After all, a powerful organization that was unimpressed with the Mallards could destroy the Somners with a flick of the finger.

However, if Beyond Heaven were here on friendly terms, it would be an opportunity for the Somners to make something of this.

"They said they come bearing gifts," the butler replied honestly.

The Somners were excited to hear his reply. They were about to reach greater heights!

Everyone forgot about Finn. They did not care about his demands at all.

Instead, the Somners were busy basking in the delight of Beyond Heaven visiting them.

This was a big opportunity for them.

If they were able to establish a connection with Beyond Heaven and get their help, the Somners would experience more growth and eventually elevate to become one of the top five influential families. They might even be on par with the Mallards!

Finn was the only one who remained calm and composed.

Look at these people!

None of them knew that the good-for-nothing they talked about was the real leader of Beyond Heaven.

Beyond Heaven was here to take Finn away from the Somners.
