Chapter 3

The Somners could not wait to greet Beyond Heaven.

They did not dare to hang Beyond Heaven out to dry.

A total of 28 tables were prepared for the celebration, and any person who had a seat at a table had at least a net worth of 50 million. Any lower than that and the person would not be able to attend the celebration.

The Somners' entire courtyard was filled with guests.

No matter how esteemed the guests were, the Somners knew that those guests could not compare to the ones about to arrive.

Emma took the lead, and everyone else followed behind.

Just then, a group of people entered the Somner residence's gates. The man in the lead was at least six foot two and stood tall. There was an impressive air about him. He had long flowing hair and looked like an upright man. There was a purple mark between his eyes.

He was wearing a robe that was purple and black with an embroidery of an eagle flying among clouds on his left chest.

'We travel beyond heaven under the cloudy sky!'

That was the logo of Beyond Heaven.

"Greetings, Mrs. Somner Senior. I'm Thomas Periwinkle from Beyond Heaven." Thomas smiled benevolently at the sight of Emma, giving her a salute.

"It's an honor to have such esteemed guests from Beyond Heaven. Please come inside!" Emma was quite excited. She did not expect that they were really from Beyond Heaven.

The Somners were about to achieve greater heights!

All of their guests witnessed this, and those who knew about Beyond Heaven were astonished.

"They're from Beyond Heaven!"

"Isn't that the all-powerful organization known locally and internationally?"

"They're even more mysterious and powerful than the most coveted organization, Sky Deity!"

"I didn't know that the Somners managed to grab onto Beyond Heaven. It looks like we'll have to maintain closer connections with them from now on."

The Somners looked proud. It was double the celebration.

Thomas smiled and said, "We won't be joining the celebration. We're here for an important matter. But we did prepare three humble gifts for your birthday celebration, Mrs. Somner Senior. Bring them here!"

Three brocade boxes were immediately brought to the front from behind Thomas.

The first box was opened, and inside was a translucent luminous pearl.

"This luminous pearl was found deep under the sea and is worth 500 million. Please accept it."

The second box contained a black pill.

"This is a medicinal pill. Anyone who takes it can extend their longevity and maintain their youth!"

The last box was opened. There was a document folder inside.

"This is a contract worth five billion. We prepared these gifts specially for your birthday celebration. Please accept our three humble gifts."

The Somners' eyes widened at the sight of these birthday gifts. Each gift was extremely valuable, and they were treasures that ordinary people could only dream of. It was especially so with the last gift. It was a contract worth five billion.

The Somners' assets were only worth ten billion after working hard for it.

All of the Somners were excited. It felt like the Somners were about to achieve greater heights!

"I… I'm very grateful…" Emma's hands were trembling.

Just as she was about to accept the gifts, an unwelcome voice rang throughout the hall.

"The Somners are not worthy of those gifts!"

Many were shocked to hear that. How dare someone say something like that during such an occasion?

The Somners were infuriated.

Yvonne immediately recognized it to be Finn's voice. She stood up right away and berated, "This is no place for you to speak, Finn. Get out!"

"How dare you create trouble when there are esteemed guests here?! Be smart and get out of here or I'll get you thrown out!" Yvonne's lover, Michael Kauffman, roared at him too.

All of the other Somners also directed their anger at Finn.

That was when Thomas' expression changed.

He quickly went up to Finn with the utmost reverence.

Everyone was stunned.

What was going on?

"Greetings from Thomas Periwinkle!" Thomas' eyes teared up.

Finn had been gone for three years. Everyone at Beyond Heaven missed him.

"Get up." Finn patted Thomas gently on the shoulder.

The esteemed guest of the Somners was being respectful toward Finn. None of the Somners could believe it.

"Is there a mistake, Mr. Periwinkle? Finn is just a good-for-nothing who married into our family. He has been leeching off us all this time. Why did you…" The Somners could not understand this.

Thomas' expression suddenly fell, and everyone felt a chill from him. "Who dares disrespect Finn Chapman? They'll be making an enemy out of Beyond Heaven!"

When Thomas received a message from Finn, he came over to the Somner residence right away.

He had initially thought that Finn wanted to celebrate Emma's birthday, so he took the initiative to prepare three gifts for the Somners.

When he saw Finn's attitude toward them, he realized that Finn was not treated well by the Somners and did not have a good relationship with them.

That was why Thomas retracted his statement.

The Somners were stunned and did not expect Thomas to have a change of heart.

Finn stepped forward while everyone watched. He took out the deep sea luminous pearl from the first box and played with it in his hand.

The Somners looked at it greedily. It was supposed to be given to them. That pearl was worth 500 million!

"The Somners? Do you think you're good enough to own this luminous pearl?" A sneer appeared on Finn's face. He exerted slight force in his hand, and the luminous pearl was instantly crushed. It turned to dust that scattered all over the floor.

Everyone was shocked. That was worth 500 million! How could he crush it like that? What a horrible waste of a treasure!

"Listen up, Somners. Remember what I told you before. If you comply with my three demands, I'll let bygones be bygones, and the Somners will still be billionares. If you refuse, I'll take back everything the Somners own. I'll give you one month to consider this."

Finn turned to leave after that.

Thomas quickly followed behind, and so did the other men.

Everyone from Beyond Heaven left in the blink of an eye.

The Somners were stunned. Everything happened so fast that they did not have time to digest what was happening. Was Finn a high-ranking member of Beyond Heaven? That was impossible!

None of the Somners were willing to believe it.

However, the truth was that they had just watched an opportunity disappear right in front of them.

All of the guests present also found it a pity.

Most of the guests had felt a little jealous when they thought that Beyond Heaven favored the Somners, which was why they were happy to see this opportunity slip through the Somners' fingers.

"That can't be true. It mustn't be true! Finn is a good-for-nothing. How could he be associated with Beyond Heaven? I get it now. Those must be actors he hired to put on an act and frighten us into paying back his 50 million! We shouldn't get conned by him!"

That was when Michael spoke out loudly.

The Somners seemed to have 'woken' to their senses when they heard him. Everyone quickly agreed with him.

"I have the same thought! How could this be such a coincidence?"

"We know what kind of man Finn is. He's been leeching off us for three years. How can he belong to Beyond Heaven?"

"He must be a conman, Mrs. Somner Senior. We shouldn't get conned by him!"

Emma was pale with anger as she cursed out loud at Finn.
