Laura's POV

The D-Day for the final hearing from the court came. Agatha, Mrs Corazon, Larry and I were present in court with others who simply came to watch the prosecution.

When the judge walked in, we all did the respectful thing as Aaron was brought in, looking ragged and weightless.

My blood boiled with rage and anger as I tried to control myself from where I sat. I couldn't wait for the final hearing to be over and spit on the bastard's face. He would be getting what he deserved anytime soon.

I glanced up when I got warm hands on mine. “Everything will be okay, Sis. Mum must get justice for her death.” My brother, Larry assured beside me, and I nodded with a small smile.

“Yeah, she would.”

Soon, the hearings resumed, and we all watched as Aaron's lawyer kept trying to deny all the evidences pinned on his victim, Aaron, but ours was stronger to identify the wrong.

Eventually, the cases and consequences of actions were read out, and it was time for the judge to give the fin

I sat down at the round table alone. This would be the first time I had come to a bar in many years, the pain I felt in my heart was just too much. The scenes kept replaying in my head, welling me up with pain and anger. I ran my veiny hands over my hair until my always neatly combed hair became rough and I didn't care. I was supposed to care, as I was a billionaire heir, and even without my father’s money I would still be a billionaire. I was a public figure, the Sloan heir, but I refused to care. For the past three months, after the scene, I had immersed myself in deep work, I barely ate or changed my clothes. But today, while at work, my body could not take it anymore. My hands began to shake, skin colour turned pale and all the memories kept coming back. It came back with a gush of pain. At first, I tried blocking it, but I allowed it to freely take over me. I gulped down the remaining Scotch from the half-filled glass and drank, letting the memory replay itself. It happen

LAURA Sitting on my bed in yoga style, with my palms pressed closely at the middle of my chest. Anyone would think that I was doing yoga. That was my intention anyways, but my mind couldn't stay focused. I inhaled deeply and started all over. I had to calm my nerves down for the atrocity I was about to commit. My phone suddenly rang with an unknown caller. I knew who they were; they were the people who kidnapped my mother. Answering the phone, a male voice echoed from the other end. “We sent you the photos in the morning. Haven’t you seen it?” “I did, but I just wanted to wait a little,” I replied with a low voice even though all I wanted to do was kill them. The caller broke into a sarcastic laugh. “How long do you want to wait till you post it? Seven days? Or till we drop your mother’s corpse on your bed?” He asked, his voice sharp with anger. “Now listen to me and listen good, within the next one hour, I want you to post the photos sent to you or we will kill your mothe

ERIC I could feel myself floating as I walked into my office. I had woken up this morning to discover the mess a blogger created alleging I was gay. That had not moved me, although I knew my father was going to bring down the roof. Damien had not called me, even though I was sure as hell that he had seen the headlines. What made me avidly angry was the state I was in when they took those photos. I was at the peak of pain from the betrayal I suffered from a woman and they called me gay? Since when did gays get broken because of the opposite gender? I had sent my investigator to gather more information about the blogger. Once they had gathered the information, I would make her life hell for what she did. But why did she decide to post about me? Some other businessmen and celebrities were gay but had never been carried by blogs. After all, it was their personal life. It could only mean so many things. She did it to increase conversion to her blog page, or one of his competitors hate

LAURA Sitting on my chair in front of my dressing mirror I tried my best to wear my make-up, but it was not working. My hands were shaking. Today I would be having an interview with Robes and whatever I said would be concrete evidence against Eric who had done me no harm. I just had to keep up with the lie. For my mother’s sake. Suddenly, my phone rang, and I looked at the caller ID. It was Rena, my best friend. I didn't want to take the call at first, but I took it. “Laura, have you seen the news online about Eric Sloan? They said your blog was the one that posted it but I corrected them. It can never be you. Maybe your blog was hacked,” she poured out, I couldn't help but heave a heavy sigh. Thank goodness Rena had fought for me. Anyone who knew me would know that I would never do such a thing. “It was me, Rena. I was the one who posted it,” I dropped it, breaking her heart. My voice low and heavy with guilt. Rena was silent for a while. “why… You what?” She asked, after recove

LAURA I stared at him for a while contemplating taking his hands. What was he trying to do? Take me from here and kill me? He cleared his throat “Because you are already in my black book. I would consider you to take my hands to avoid further embarrassment.” He said with a sharp tone. I reluctantly took his hands and he immediately walked me out of the crowd. Camera clicks followed as we walked towards the Bugatti. He opened the door for me and I sheepishly entered. He turned around to the other side and sat beside me with a frown. He glared at me for a second and focused back on his iPad. All this while my breath was sucked in as I tried to wonder where they were taking me to. As if he read my mind he looked outside the window, as if he was disgusted by my presence. “We are going to the Villa. And like I said, to talk.” he finally broke the silence. I nodded in agreement, knowing fully well about the villa he was talking about. It was one of a kind, almost like a modernized cas

LAURA Well, I was left with no choice but to accept his proposal, even though I knew deep down that i just signed a death warrant. He had succeeded in forcing me to post the picture on my blog page, as well. I never wanted to post the photos, but I had no other choice, he had threatened to make sure my brother wouldn't only spend time in jail, but he would also kill him. “Will you just enter the car now!” Eric's voice echoed, jotting me off from my deep thoughts. “She's just a gold digger,” Damian smirked. “Don't tell me you're catching feelings for that bitch already,” he joked. Eric gave him a derisive stare as he barked, “you can never be serious for once in your life!” “Where are we going?” I braced up to ask. “Just get in the car, and stop questioning!” Eric glared. The others went in their separate cars, and Eric and I went with the same car that we came in. “Where do you live!” His voice thundered. “Downtown,” “Good! You heard her well, or are you just g

LAURANothing possible was running through my mind, and the best I could just do is to stare at the heavens, hoping the anonymous caller holding my mother hostage would give me an answer. At least, I wanted to know if she's still alive. My nerves frayed, merely thinking if he'd have killed her. Did he also saw the photos of I and Eric Sloan?Pains bored into me as I glanced at the ring on my finger. I couldn't even bring myself to tell Rena of my atrocity. I was a coward, a total one. This wasn't my intentions to do but, however, I'll carry them so far it makes them not to touch my mother.I trod to my system, bracing up again to look into the blog. She's the same lady who had thrown different questions at me earlier. Oh God, what does she want now? Was she here to interrogate me too?“You still walked in here, Laura Karma.” She repeated, bitterness obvious in her voice as I cleared my throat, pondering on what to say.She looks so meaner than Eric.I took a step backwards, my eyes still on her as I parted my lips to say. “Eric Sloan asked me to be here for the press conference.” I muttered. Agatha took a long stare at me as if searching for something in me and when her eyes caught the ring on my finger, she frowned.“You're really such a bitçh, aren't you?” She spewed and I was momentarily dazed. “I don't know what you're talking about.” I said, glancing around to see if we were causing commotion. Eric's POVI stared at Tyler's moving lips as he blabbered something I didn't pay attention to. And when he was done, I asked. “Are you done?”“Wait, you haven't been listening to me the whole time, dude?” He replied with widened eyes. I scoffed, returning my gaze to the document I was filling earlier.“No, I wasn't.” I muttered. I finished filling the important information on the document and handed it to Sofia, my new assistant.“Here you go, Sofia.”“Thank you, Sir.” She flashed me a smile.“Um, Sofia!” I called when she turned to leave the office. “Yes, Sir?” She turned to face me.“Can you get me info about M&M Corporation? I'm longingly expecting to buy it.” I replied with a knowing smirk. She nodded immediately. “Sure, Sir. I will look into it and update you.” “You can leave.”“Okay, Sir.” She muttered before scurrying out. I didn't miss the look on Tyler's face as I gawked at him.“What?” “Did you just realize what you just said, Eric? You want to-”I groaned, leaning on the

Agatha's POVI didn't fail to see the defeated look that pictured on Aaron's face when I walked into the auctioning hall uninvited.Yeah, I wasn't invited, but I got to know at the last minute. Bea eventually succumbed to my demand and told me everything I needed to know. I was doing all these without Eric's approval. I needed to save his company from falling into the hands of Aaron, and I knew how defeated and shock he would be by my sudden presence. It took a great effort before the crowd got back themselves and resumed clapping as I placed my bidding. Jackpot. I had gotten back what belong to the Sloans', and no one would ever try to take it.As I turned to walk away from the crowd, Aaron suddenly stood up and stormed out of the hall.“Mr Walker!”“Mr Walker!”“Why did he leave??”“Is there something wrong?” I heard murmurs from the crowd of people as I rushed after Aaron. What was he up to this time? The sounds of my stiletto clicked as I raced faster towards the direction he we

Sasha's POVWhat I had feared most was starting to become a reality. Aaron was letting this sudden revenge rule over him, and he wasn't ready to back out. After I had disclosed to him how Agatha showed up and escaped with Laura, and her Mom, he became angry. The news of Me shootings her mom made him stop breaking any frame he came across with at least. Not in this Earth would I have believed that someone like Agatha Sloan would be able to know such kind of place, and without the fear of being caught and killed, saved Laura. Ever since I was a maid in the mansion, I've witnessed, several times, her hatred for Laura Karma. She never loved her from the beginning, what changed?“Where are you going?” I asked, stomping my right foot on the floor as I watched Aaron appeared on the stairs, a wolfish grin plastered on his face, his hands dipped into an eccentric tuxedo that he wore.“Aren't I allowed to leave this house, Sasha? Come on, don't start.” He rolled his eyes, brushing past me.“No

Agatha's POVI stepped out of my car, in front of Bea's apartment. I saw her arranging some files in a box with a young girl who had a striking resemblance to her, assisting her.Without hesitation, I marched towards them, and before she could look up properly at who walked in, I slapped her hard across the face.Fuck you. I wanted to curse at her, but I refrained with so much withheld. I left Laura to Eric back at the prison of a place when my tracker pinged on my phone, and directed me to Bea's place. Furthermore, I couldn't even disclose the truth to Eric when he asked because I didn't want him to get worried. If it had to do with his company, he'd definitely be worked up.Recently when I got my hands on the copies of Aaron's phone calls and other files from Clara, I also got to figure out something. Bea was fucking betraying her own boss.Bea held her cheek as she stared at me, her brows knitted with confusion. “M-Ms Agatha... Why did you do that?” She gathered her voice as I sta

Agatha's POVLaura collapsed on the floor, like how I'd predicted. I noticed her pale state earlier. And immediately, she was taken into a ward where she was examined by the doctor while I waited impatiently.I really prayed silently that she wouldn't be traumatized by the earlier incident. Her Mom was gone... That was the harsh truth, and there wouldn't be any reverse.Though, I never knew Mrs Karma until today but noticing the interaction between the Mom-and-daughter, I could tell that they had a strong bond. The thoughts of seeing Laura go through misery made my heart to constrict.Immediately, the doctor walked out of the ward. “Doctor... How is she?” I asked with a glint of hope blazing in my eyes.“She'll be conscious any moment from now. She passed out as a result of the shock she received earlier, and it's a miracle that her baby wasn't scathed. I guessed that was due to how healthy she has been. Do you know what kind of foods she eats?” He replied.I sighed in relief, glad th

Laura's POVI'd have scolded Agatha for causing my heartbeat to skip when she said she had something to say, but I wasn't gifted the chance to as we took to our heels again.I followed Mom closely. I wouldn't want to lose her the second time. Mom was part of me, and part of me couldn't be left here.“We need to go separate ways so they won't find us!” Came Agatha's voice when we got to a particular point.“No! I can't leave Mom to go alone. Let sought this out!”.“Hey! Don't move an inch!” We suddenly heard a voice, and immediately, we took cover, diving into trees barks. My breath became heavy, and that was the more I became obvious of my surrounding.“Why did you risk your life to save us, Agatha? You could get killed.” I said with heavy breaths.“Do you know what it took me to get to find you guys? As of now, I'm the one who can save you guys before it gets late.” She replied.“This is risky, I don't want you to-”“You should stop worrying about what's already done, and think of wa

Agatha's POV“Hey! What are you doing here, and who are you?!” A deep voice came from behind me, causing me to bring my steps to an abrupt halt.Jesus Christ. I knew I was down for.Craning my neck, I slightly glanced at the huge man behind me, my hands raised in the air as if I were getting arrested by the corps. If Aaron finds out I'm out here, I'd be doomed, and my plans to rescue Laura and her mom would be in vain. He'd end our lives right here, and without a bloody trace. So I turned properly to look at him in the eye. Thankfully, I hadn't gotten walked far to the place. Else, I'd have gotten caught by several men.I swallowed, and thought of the only thing to save myself at that moment. And as much as I hated to say the words, I blurted. “I'm Aaron's girlfriend. It was sizzling hot. Damn! You never told me this dude was good-”I watched her as she kept talking about her escapade with Aaron without saying anything. She looked at my face in one jerk and saw how cold and serious it had grown. She didn’t need to be told I was in no mood to hear her vain blabbings.“I could fix the chip to the side of his phone casing while he was fast asleep.
