Chapter 7

LAURA

The grasp of my bag that I held became tighter as I gulped down nothing, barely staring at Agatha's eyes which almost swallowed mine. She's the same lady who had thrown different questions at me earlier. Oh God, what does she want now? Was she here to interrogate me too?

“You still walked in here, Laura Karma.” She repeated, bitterness obvious in her voice as I cleared my throat, pondering on what to say.

She looks so meaner than Eric.

I took a step backwards, my eyes still on her as I parted my lips to say. “Eric Sloan asked me to be here for the press conference.” I muttered. Agatha took a long stare at me as if searching for something in me and when her eyes caught the ring on my finger, she frowned.

“You're really such a bitçh, aren't you?” She spewed and I was momentarily dazed.

“I don't know what you're talking about.” I said, glancing around to see if we were causing commotion. I didn't want others to see me causing another problem after creating one.
