Rouge Attack

It’s been 2 weeks since I met Ashley. Yes, Yes I finally know her name. She lets me sit with her and when I asked her why she said ‘If I said no you won’t listen anyways’ and it was true. I have stalked her continuously for 2 weeks as if in a trance. I haven't told her yet that she is my mate. I cannot afford to make her more distant than she already is. However, this is making my wolf really really mad and he keeps on pounding inside my head the whole day giving me a horrible headache every single day for the last two weeks. 

“What are you thinking about? I asked Ashley who was sitting lost in her own thoughts. She snapped out of her daze and said, “Werewolves”

Asher choked and gagged on his food and she looked amused. 

“What?” I asked her.

“I was thinking that if they were real they probably wouldn't be monsters. I’m sure they won't be all bad but whatevs”, she hummed while holding her tiger close. 

Why is she talking about Werewolves all of a sudden? She is driving me nuts with her secrecy and offhand comments like these.

Before I could respond my delta came in,“Alpha! Rogues and hunters around 50”.

“Rogues?” Ashley asked and I stiffened. 

“Just a code we use here for school rivals. Something came up, I have to go”,I said running out to the forest where all the warriors were.

“What do you want?” I growled my warriors backing me up. 

“The Shadow Walker is in your territory. Hand her or him over and we’ll let you go”, he growled and I looked at him shocked. A Shadow Walker is someone who protects supernatural creatures like us against our enemies. Their identity is unknown. No one has ever seen them, like ever.  

“We don’t know who it is, and even if I knew I will never tell you. If the shadow walker is in our territory we will protect him/her”, I growled.

“Maybe we should refresh your memory !!!”, he smirked and the attack on my pack began. Although we were not outnumbered, the attack was still fierce and we were having a tough time.

I was attacked by a couple of rouges simultaneously and they pinned me down on the ground. Suddenly an arrow whizzed into the back of one of the rogues attacking me, killing it instantly. I was searching around for the archer when another one whizzed by my ear killing a rogue as sneaking behind me. 

A masked figure in a hoodie and gloves was crouching on top of a tree and shooting silver arrows on the rogues. Who is he? Why is he helping us? 

When the attack ended and the rouges ran away, the mysterious figure jumped off the tree and ran into the dense forest. I tried to follow him but an arrow barely missed me. When I didn't stop chasing him when another arrow pierced into the trunk of a tree right in front of me.

"Alexander, This is the Shadow Walker. You will NOT tell anyone about me. You will not try to find me. You will not discuss this note with anyone. I came here to warn you about something, and I will in due time. But till then keep all of this a secret. else there will be dire consequences"

I do not being bossed around but this was the Shadow Walker and he must have a good reason for all this secrecy, so I kept my calm.

“Alpha, is the shadow walker really in our territory?” Asher asked. 

“Well, you heard what the rouges said, Asher. I only know as much as you", I said.

“Let’s scour the forest then. Maybe we can find him”, he said.  

“No, we will not do any such thing, Asher. If the rogues are still here and follow our spies by any chance, we will endanger the pack as well as the Shadow Walker.”

“You mean you have a chance at finding the legendary Shadow Walker and you won't?”, he asked incredulously. 

“Careful Asher. I may be your best friend but I’m still your alpha. Show me some respect”, I said dangerously. Ge stiffly nodded and bowed before leaving.

I went back to school to gather my belongings when I saw Ashely leaving school with a gloomy expression. Nova seemed to be comforting her.

My instincts told me to follow her. She went back to her mansion picked up the kittens and took them to an adoption agency. She came out and said,"We will have to start our work today, Snow".
