Chapter Five (Naomi)

"I'm so sorry she just took off she wanted to speak to your daughter" I heard a voice say is that my mom

"They're not her parents thats her cook and he's the housekeeper" I heard another voice chime in it sounded really familiar but I couldn't place where I know it from 

"its fine, and no we aren't Alexis's parents but we wanted to come check on her to make sure she was okay" I heard a woman say 

"So you're fine with her sitting with Alexis for a moment" I heard a man say 

"yeah thats fine, we'll head down to the cafeteria for coffee" I heard the woman say then I could hear footsteps moving 

"I'll come with I could use a coffee" I heard my mom say "Naomi we won't be gone for long if you need anything come find us'

"yeah okay" I heard the familiar voice say then I heard more footsteps a door opened then closed after that eveything was quiet for a few seconds then I heard footsteps come closer to me "Naomi wake up" it was the familiar voice again

The person shook my arm lightly at first then hard "ow" I groaned and started to open my eyes the room was super white making my eyes hurt, I closed them then opened them. I looked around the bright room and waited for my eyes to adjust to the brightness 

I looked over next to me and saw me standing there "AHh" I struggled to scream 

My twin sighed and grabbed a bottle of water from the nightstand "here drink up, we have lots to talk about" 

I took the bottle from her and started drinking it, it felt good going down my dry throat but I couldn't enjoy the cool taste because I had soo many questions "who are you" I managed to say 

"I'm you" she said 

I laughed though it hurt a little due to my throat still being dry. I drank the rest of the water and place the bottle on the bed "what is this some joke or something"

"oh I wish it was a joke, look at your hand" 

I scrunched my face up at her but looked down at my hand "what what the fuck" I turned my hand over and blinked my eyes a few times I'm white "no what is this" 

"its me you're me" the girl said 

I rubbed my hand over my face but I didn't feel my nose ring or my facial features, I ran my hands over my head expecting to feel the box braids I put in last week but instead I felt silky hair; I looked down at it as it feel over my shoulder Blonde blonde hair 

"nice huh I never use dry shampoo only natural products" the girl said smiling 

I stood up and pulled on the IV until it finally loosened. I stood and walked past the girl to the bathroom. I closed my eyes when I entered. I opened them and glanced at the mirror Alexis was looking back at me what the hell I closed my eyes and opened them again still same results 

I quickly turned the faucet on and started splashing my face over and over again "try cold water" the girl said walking up and standing beside me "it doesn't change anything, you're in my body and I'm in yours"

I squinted my eyes "Alexis" 

"bingo" she said while walking out of the bathroom she sat on the chair beside the bed and I just stood in the middle of the floor

"but how how can we just switch bodies, whats going on"

"your guess is as good as mine, all I know is I woke up to your sniffling mom and inside your body" she crossed her arms "scared the shit out of me"

I started to pace the floor "what was the last the you remember" 

she shrugged "I know there was a storm and I got stuck and you were being a bitch and didn't want to help so I grabbed that stick to get you to pull me out and yo-"

"THE ROD" I interrupted her 

"the what" I walked over to her

"the metal rod it wasn't a freaking stick, it glowed remember"

She looked thoughtful for a few seconds before hopping up from the chair "yes its coming back to me, it said some words on it uh your eyes or something like that"

"yes yes and it pricked our fingers and then the lighting was boomign behind us and then uh I I don't remember"  I sat down on the bed "the rod must've did something but how"

"and better question where the hell is it and how do we get back to our own bodies"

We both sat quietly for a few seconds "we have to go back to the school and check the field for the rod, maybe it says how to switch back on it"

She nodded her head then stopped and looked at me suspiscously "what I asked you got a better idea"

"how do I know you didn't do this, you probably used black magic or voodoo or something"

I laughed "puhlease you think I want to be stuck in your body"

"no but you do want to be a cheerleader, so maybe this was a way for you to not only get on the team but also be captain"

I glared at her "don't even try me I would never stoop low enough to try magic on you of all people and if I was going to swicth bodies with anyone it would be Beyonce or a billionaire not a high school cheer captain"

She rolled her eyes "yeah okay whatever"

I looked at her "and how do I know you didn't do this, I've watched that movie where the cheerleaders do magic to stay pretty"

she laughed "whatever like you said why would I switch bodies with a high school girl" 

"well so we both didn't do so lets figure out how to undo this crap and go on with our lives"

"I'm with you on that one, so what's the plan" she asked eagerily

"well first we have to find that metal rod I ahve a strong feeling it caused all this mess, but until we go to the school we have to pretend to be each other or they will keep us at the hospital forever"

"ugh I don't want to be you" she groaned "my head hurts from these braids, why are they so tight" she said rubbing at the braids

"oh suck it up, I don't wanna be you either but here we are so shut up and listen"

She rolled her eyes but sat up "okay so I have two siblings my baby brother Tray but I call him Teddy, my younger sister Jaimee and you've met my mom and dad; just lay low tell them you're crampong and feeling sick and that should buy us a couple of days"

"ew you have a baby brother, I hate kids"

"I really don't care how you feel you just better not be rude to him or the rest of my family. Now tell me about your household"

She shrugged "not much to tell I'm an only child thank God, the woman whose here to see you is my cook Lisa and the guy is my housekeeper Jessie; they shouldn't be much trouble" 

I nodded "and your parents" she shifted in her seat uncomfortable 

"they're out of town right now but should be back on Monday" she looked down at the floor

"uh anyway we should be switched by the time they come back" I said wanting to end the uncomfortable conversation

She chuckled "I doubt that, no way we fix it all in one day"

I scrunched up my face "what do you mean, its Friday right"

She looked at me shocked "the storm was Friday" she said looking at me 

I looked at the clock near the t.v., 10:30 a.m. "so its Satuday morning, thats still enough time to.."

"no" she interrupted "Naomi we;ve been asleep for nearly two days today is Sunday"

I shook my head at her "bullshit no way" I grabbed the t.v. remote from the side table and turned it on flicking through channels until I landed on the news channel Sunday 10:31 was at the bottom right side of the screen "what the fuck"

"yeah thats what I've been saying for the past half hour"

"Alexis do you know what this means" I turned to look at her 

"yeah it means we missed the whole weekend"

"no bimbo it means we have to go to school tomorrow"

She shrugged "so what you forgot to study for your exam or something"

"you're an idiot, do you not realize we're going to have to go to school as each other" finally it clicked inside her head 

"oh God no, I don't know how to be you; who do you even hang out with where do you eat lunch and-"

"calm down Alexis geez, okay I eat lunch with my sister, her friend Sam and a couple different girls we know"

"wow sounds fun" she said sarcastically

I rolled my eyes "whatever"

"well me and my friends sit outside under the elm tree and I sit with Shelly, Taylor-"

"oh I like Taylor she'e really sweet"

"you don't know Taylor" she said crossing her arms 

"yeah she's in my English class we talk all the time"

"liar, Taylor would have told me and either she knows how I feel about you she would never" she said but uncertainty was all in her voice 

"yeah okay so you hang with the cheerleading team under the elm tree got it"

"I have to tell you though being popular was not an easy task I had to step on a lot of people to get to where I am now"

"okay" I said unsure of where she was going with that statement

"well with that being said some days I might get angry stares from people" 

"people like who"

"you for one but I guess not anymore and this girl Jade, her and her friend uh I don't remeber his name but they hang out at the goth outcast table; yeah they hate me for sure"

"geez what did you do"

she shrugged "I might've spread rumors about Jade having an STD"

my mouth dropped open "thats awful why would you do that"

"it was freshman year I was just messing around"

"and the guy"

"well I don't really know why he's mad but I know when I pass him in the halls he always glares at me, must be her boyfriend or something"
