The Supreme Alpha
I was watching Luke through the window of my office. Seeing him in such a peaceful state sitting on the grass by himself looking once again like a mere boy.
Even though I knew he was not at peace nor a boy. He was confused and in pain, and I caused it, but I thought I had known better, but now I was not so sure anymore.
After our former doctor Saul had left with his son Jack I had returned to my office and by sometime been standing by the window gazing at Luke. I wanted to go down to garden and sit next to him. Have him rest his head on my shoulder and let him know that everything was going to be okay. But that would be another lie, since I no longer knew what were to become of him or how I was going to secure his safety. But I did love him, still and always. No words from any spirit or vision in form of Omega Accalia would change that. I knew who he was and that was all that mattered.
A knock on the door broke my gaze and I looked towar
Luke POVI enjoyed the sunset before the warmth of the sun left my skin and the nights cool breeze surrounded me like a cold blanket. I shivered at the change in temperature, and I knew I had to go inside sooner or later, but I didn’t know if I was ready for more complicated answers for all my questions.I looked towards packhouse to the window of her office, I could see the shape of her back in the window frame, and it looked like she wasn’t alone.I got up and brushed the dirt of my pants and walked back towards the house. As I entered the house I heard a loud commotion upstairs and it sounded like it came from the Supreme Alpha’s Office.I ran up the stairs only to hear the yelling from the office intensify but I couldn’t make out the words.A loud growl echoed out into the hall from the office before I heard Iza yell: “I didn’t! I didn’t want this life. I wanted a normal life with a loving husban
The Supreme Alpha POVA knock on the door; “My Supreme” one of my men announced. “There is call waiting for you” he said.“Tell them I am busy, and I will contact them later” I responded not taking my eyes off of Luke.“It’s Alpha Lucian, and he said it was urgent” he replied.I blinked at couple of time breaking my gaze at Luke. Lucian wouldn’t call and insist on talking to me unless it was important, I thought to myself.“I’ll take it now” I replied and sat down and picked up my phone. I looked at both Luke and Steffan; “You’re excused” I said and gestured my arm towards the door.“Hello Lucian” I greeted him over the phone.“Hello Iza” he greeted me back. “I am sorry to disturb you, but I have some bad news” he continued.“Are you okay? And what of Kate?” I replied.“No,
Luke POVI walked out of her office and down the stairs.I could here Steffan try to keep up as he limped as fast as he could trying to follow me. It was weird seeing him this weak but also evidence of the Supreme Alpha’s powers, since she barely touched him. She blocked his attack and her mere impact on his body shattered in this way was terrifying.I walked outside and towards the training facilities. The other guys were already at it, and there subtitude for Beta Steffan weren’t going easy on them at the evening training session, but then again if you were to restand an attack like the one Steffan suffered under then you would have to train hard. Some of the other guys I use to train along with stopped and watched as I crossed over the training cord. I weren’t going to stop or talk or indulge my self in their stares. I was just going to go to my room, pack some stuff and leave. If I left now I would be able to make to the funeral. I w
Steffan POVI had to go back to the pack house to get some stuff and my keys before we could leave, and I knew a confrontation with Iza awaited me.Luke stood in front of the pack house for every to see including The Supreme Alpha and he was more than happy to show of his disobedience on this matter of leaving. Idiot. He never really thought about the consequences of his actions. He just went along with it. It was both freeing to watch as well as extremely annoying. Mostly because his action more than not got him into some serious trouble and now those troubles were becoming my headache.I took a deep breath and walk through the main doors. Complete silence. I walked up the stairs and towards my room. Still silence. I packed my stuff and headed downstairs. Utter uncomfortable silence.I walked past the office to see Iza staring out the window towards the garden.“I’m leaving” I announced and prepared myself for a heated dis
The Supreme AlphaI heard his irregular footsteps as he limped out of my office.“Steffan?” I called and I heard his footsteps return, but I stood with my back still turned against him.“Yes?” he answered.“Keep him safe” I replied not wanting any of them to leave me, but I knew I had to let Luke go. I couldn’t keep manipulating him into staying. He had to want to stay and come back to me.“I will” he answered, and I knew he would protect Luke with his life and that brought me pain as well. Since I didn’t want to lose any of the. I never wanted to choose between but if it came down to that, I knew my choice and so did Steffan.“You too, come back to me both of you” I replied wanting him to know I cared for him as well.“Always” he answered, and I knew it be the truth as he vanished out of the pack house.I looked out into the hall and saw Luke s
Luke POVWe got in the car, and I started driving through town unto the gravel road leading to the highway.I felt a little sad driving through town as it had already lost some of its magic and I hadn’t even had the change to explore yet, being to caught up in practices and drama.Steffan change the position of his seat, so he almost was lying down and closed is eyes. What a great traveling companion he was, I thought to myself. I drove for a while listening and humming along to the radio until Steffan suddenly said; “Take the next exit. They have the best coffee”“I don’t need coffee” I replied.“No but I must certainly do. All that singing of yours have giving me quite the headache” Steffan replied.“I thought you were sleeping” I said.“Apparently not deep enough, here!” he replied as he gestured to toward an exit on the highway. I did as he said
Luke POVI enlightened Steffan with my vision and Iza’s explanation of it. I also told him about the cuts and wounds Saul had to patch up afterwards.“Okay I’ll play along. And so what? You met a dead chick! If you had the vision doesn’t that contradict your statement because as I understand only the Supreme Alphas get this vision, and you had it” he asked. “Perhaps, but Accalia announced me not to be a Supreme Alpha” I replied.“I’m sorry, but I am having a hard time believing all of this” he answered me.“Yeah I would to, but you can ask Iza or Saul. When I told them, I thought, they were going to think I was mad, just as you do now, but quite the opposite. It was like it all made sense to them. Except for the part where I wasn’t who they thought I was. Well Saul actually didn’t seem that surprised, when I said I wasn’t the next Supreme Alpha” I
Luke POVWe drove for at little while in silence both deep in our own thoughts both trying to comprehend what we just heard from one another and per usual I did get some answers, but I felt more confused than before. Maybe Saul was right, maybe it was better if I didn’t know – it didn’t seem like this story had a happy ending, not unless I gave it one and nothing from the past could change that. The future was literary in my hands. But then I remembered our deal and Steffan still hadn’t kept his part of it.“So, I still want you to hold up your end off the deal” I said and me talking to him seemed to startle him.“I’m sorry! Where you talking to me?” he asked clearly way deep in his own thoughts.“Yes? You promised to answer my question. Information for information. I kept my part” I replied as he looked confused at me.“Yeah, of course, what was the question?” he
Iza POVWe had been home for 6 months now and everything had been perfectly normal, maybe a bit to perfect someone might add, but I enjoyed every moment of it living a normal family life.We had experienced some resistance among the pack members, when we first arrived back home, and it was announced that I were a mere human now, and worse that they no longer had an Alpha to lead them. Luke had refused to take on the title and Arianna was too young, so Steffan had stepped up as our new Alpha of the pack, and thankfully everyone was pleased with that decision. Tomas was announced as the new Beta as Luke didn’t want any title or responsibility, but it was still agreed that Luke would be the next in line for the role as Alpha of the pack if something were to happen to Steffan. After Steffan took over the role as Alpha and the pack had settle down and accepted me as a human to live among them everything seemed to turn out for the better.Me, Steffan, Tom
Luke POVI decided to walk through the city alone rather than return to pack house. There was no point in running after Kate if her demands of me proving my love to her was leaving Arianna behind. Her mother sacrifices herself too safe me. I weren’t going to abandoned Arianna now for my own desire to be near Kate. Fate had brought me and Arianna together, and if me and Kate were destined to be mates I had to believe that the Moon Goddess would intwine our destinies if not now then later in life. But for now, it seemed as if Kate was destined to be with Lucian and I to stay and protect Arianna. I cared deeply for Arianna, and I was more than willing to dedicate my life to keep her safe from harm, but right now this sucked. I wanted to scream and break something as I felt complete helpless in the situation. I wanted more than anything to just be able to leave everything behind and elope with Kate, but I couldn’t.Seeing Kate walk away and leave me for good wa
Luke POVArianna ran inside the pack house leaving me and Kate alone outside which had been the only thing I wanted all morning.I looked at the clothes in her arms that she still hadn’t handed me.I watched her eyes wander from every inch of my body and I wondered when she was going to notice that I too was watching her. But she was deep in thought as she examined every inch of my naked body with her eyes.“Can I have the clothes now?” I asked as I smiled at her. She blushed.“I’m sorry. Here!” she said and threw them at me.“No, no it is okay. I just wanted to make sure you were done staring at my naked body” I said as I started to get dressed.“Asshole!” she said and turned her back to me.“It’s a little late to turn around now, isn’t it? I mean you kind of seen the crown jewels”She turned around and looked angry at me: “I came
Luke POVIt was a fight to regain control from the wolf Lycan and my legs felt weak under me as I stood in human form once again. I could still feel him trying to fight himself back to the surface again, but I pushed him down and ignored him.I rather go back to having no wolf than let this manic take control of my body again.I was standing huffing and puffing like the wolf from the fairytale of the three little pigs as I tried to catch my breath. And then I noticed her little hand once again in mind. I looked down to see Arianna stand next to me and once again she was my salvation. I squeezed her hand and she squeezed it back while smiling at me.And if she read my mind she mouthed; “Always!” And I smiled back at her. “Always!”I thought it was over until I heard growling and I noticed Lucian hadn’t shifted back and Kate and Steffan were still on their knees baring their throat to me.“I release y
Luke POVI shifted into wolf form and let Lycan loose and his anger rushed through me and filled every inch of me.I slowly walked towards Lycan with my head low between my shoulder blades as I growled from deep within me. Everyone else took a step back as they all feared the big black wolf, Lycan.I hated how much I loved the feeling of him taking control. The feeling of limitless power and confidence. I relished in it and enjoyed feeling invincible. It was a feeling I wasn’t used to. Actually, I don’t think I ever felt like this before being in the present of Lycan. I didn’t agree with his constant desire to kill, but I liked how he stood is ground and never took shit from anyone. Even though the whole self proclaimed king of the wolves was a bit too much.Lycan had wanted to kill Lycan for a long time, but his desire for blood simple wasn’t reason enough to go around ripping throats out. But hurting Kate – big mistake!
Luke POVWe walked backed to the house as the sun rose above us greeting in a new day and setting fire to the sky with bright red colors.I knew we had to go pack our stuff before we left for home, but I really needed to get some rest and preferably some sleep first and then I desperately needed to see Kate, but as we arrived at the pack house the decision were made for me as Kate and Lucian were leaving.Alpha Lucian still looked very pale, and his wounds still weren’t healed properly. They weren’t open, bleeding or looked infected, but he looked really sick, not in a dying or weak way. He just seemed off. He was usually so correct and always properly dressed in a suit even though being a wolf often meant getting dirty and muddy. But today he looked messy and out of place.“You are leaving?” Iza asked Lucian, and he nodded uninterested, but smiled politely at her. She went to him and hugged him lovingly, but he did not return the
Luke POVThe sun began to rise as I started to near the end of forest and the pack house began to appear between the trees. I felt the first light of sun hit my skin as I exited the woods. Even though it was only a new it felt like a new beginning.I didn’t know if I had actually expected to come out of this alive but being here and looking up at the windows to where I knew the others were sleeping, I was glad I was. It was finally all over and I could start over. I could go anywhere and start a whole new life and leave all of this behind me, but where to start? I knew it was expected of me, that I would to go back home with Iza. But I didn’t have to. I did however still belong to her pack, but then again, if Iza weren’t a wolf anymore, could she then still be in charge or the Alpha of the pack. I didn’t know. And then it hit me, was I to be the new Alpha with Iza being my mother?“A king needs a kingdom” Lycan&r
Iza POV”I lied””What was that?” Steffan asked as he lifted himself up to lie on his elbows in bed.I had been sitting and staring out of the window towards the woods ever since Steffan had told me that Luke had left to confront Darian and his pack of rouges. He had brought Arianna in to sleep with us and by the sound of her breathing she was deep a sleep next to Steffan.I had cursed Steffan for letting Luke go into the woods alone or even go at all. But I also knew Luke was never going to leave with us, knowing Darian was still out there, so Steffan had been right to let him go. I just prayed he would return alive.Darian as an opponent was fierce enough, but facing him and his whole pack of rouges seemed like a suicide mission, so I had waited patiently at the window. Waiting for him to come out of the woods again. Alive and well. But nothing so far.I must have been sitting there for hours as the first gli
Luke POVI walked into the midnight air taking a deep breath in as the cold temperature of the night reached my lungs. It was like inhaling for the first time after being under water. It was refreshing and I let myself enjoy it for a second knowing what lied ahead of me.“Are you ready?” I asked out loud even though I didn’t need to.“Release me!” he both answered and ordered. And I shifted into wolf form and let him take control of me.I felt rush of adrenalin and I stretched in my wolf form. I suddenly felt unstoppable and powerful and more than ready for the task at hand. Lycan started to run through the forest. Even though he was big – he was fast and athletic and jumped with ease over fallen trees and in between branches.“Do you know where you are going?” I asked.“I got his scent – he is nearby” he answered as his pace slowed down.He stopped and gr
