I heard his irregular footsteps as he limped out of my office.
“Steffan?” I called and I heard his footsteps return, but I stood with my back still turned against him.
“Yes?” he answered.
“Keep him safe” I replied not wanting any of them to leave me, but I knew I had to let Luke go. I couldn’t keep manipulating him into staying. He had to want to stay and come back to me.
