Avery Williams was physically and mentally tortured by her ex-werewolf boyfriend and his mate every single day in college. She wanted to escape from his sick clutches but what happens when she comes across the mysterious Alpha Dark in the Mating ball who claims her as his mate?! Alpha Dark is a mystery, and definitely evil. He claims her and traps her in his mansion. Now Avery would have to make a choice. To either surrender to this dark wolf who has skeletons buried deep behind his doors or escape him. Having past trauma from her ex, surrendering to a selfish man was definitely not an option. Why do you pull when I am not ready?” I said, mustering the courage to look at him. His eyes slightly narrowed at me, but he did not move from his position. The air crackled with tension and none of us were prepared to go down. He pulled my chin with his finger beneath it and angled his head to move close to my face. His lips softly brushed against mine and something sparked in my body like a firecracker, “Because you are mine. And I take what belongs to me.”
View MoreDarkness veiled my senses as I closed my eyes, inhaled deeply, and braced my feet against the cold tiles of my college corridor. If two years back, one had told me that my life would turn this miserable, I would have laughed at them and caught it as a joke, but—
“You are quite early today, you disgusting slut.” A shrill, grating voice hissed at me and I opened my eyes to find the two people who had turned my life into a recurring nightmare. Samuel, my ex-boyfriend, and his mate, Natalie stood in front of me. “Maybe she thought that she won’t be caught,” Sam said, venom laced in his voice, cocking his head to the side. Samuel Smith, the well-known warrior of the strongest pack Blood Moon used to be my boyfriend for two years. When I was a freshman in college, he was the same and he had asked me out at the first-year party. I was on cloud nine. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and had blonde hair that fell on his shining blue eyes. How could someone like me have rejected a guy who was so gorgeous and was dreamed of by every girl in college? After all, he was a warrior wolf and I was a mere human. Only if I had known that it was the worst decision of my life. Samuel Smith made my life miserable when we were in a relationship. When I finally got the courage to break up with him, it somehow hurt his ego and now he resorted to bullying me. The after-effects of the relationship were enough to traumatize me and grow within the fear of getting attached romantically. “You have some audacity to stare at me, hmm? You shameless bitch!” Sam growled, his face turning red with anger and he choked me, my back forced against the wall. “S-am!” Small ragged gags escaped my throat while I tried to resist, holding his wrist. His palm pressed against my throat and I felt a shortness of breath. Was I going to die? That wouldn’t be a bad option. Just as I thought that my life would end today for good, Sam let go of me and I fell on the cold floor with a thud. I coughed while holding my throat which felt like it would close any second. Before I could collect myself, Natalie’s hand connected with my right cheek in a slap, and my face fell on the hard tile, “Looks like you are born with no shame. You know Sam is my mate and you still touch him?” she spat. She liked to find ways to put the blame on me, even when it was clear that I did not lay a finger on Sam. I did not get time to respond as Samantha, one of Natalie’s minions stepped forward and sat on her heels, cupping my mouth. Natalie stamped the sharp heel of her stiletto on my hand which was laid flat on the ground. Muffled screams escaped my mouth. Everything looked blurry with hot tears rolling down my eyes. I knew no one was going to come for my help. This day would pass, Avery. Just hold on a little longer. Don’t let them get the satisfaction of seeing you in pain. “What is happening here?!” The voice of Professor Jade came to my ears. Both Samantha and Natalie backed away on hearing her voice. I felt relieved that a teacher was there. “Nothing ma’am. We were just talking.” Samuel said in confidence as if he owned this place. This was my chance to get away! I immediately got on my feet and slung my bag to my front to scurry away from the corridor when the teacher saw me. She noticed me and scowled, “What are you doing here, Miss Williams? Don’t you know that it is against the rules to roam in the corridors when the classes are going on?” “Ma’am, I—” “Miss Williams, to the detention room right now!” Professor Jade yelled and I clutched my bag tighter. I looked past my shoulder to see the smirk on Sam’s face and walked to the detention room. Once I sat down on one of the empty benches, I looked at Professor Jade, who sat on the chair with her head resting on her joined arms at the back. There was no one except us two in the room. Detention was not common in colleges, but Winterville worked differently. The biggest irony of this college was that they claimed detention and strict rules would make everyone disciplined, yet the ones who were at fault always got away. “Prof?” I called her, “Hm?” “You knew what was happening, didn’t you?” She looked at me and her eyes slid to the angry red mark that was on my neck. “I will give you some medicine for that. Wait here.” She said and moved from her seat. I couldn’t control it anymore and burst into tears. She sighed, “I am sorry, Miss Williams. But there is nothing I can do. I am just following my orders.” Saying that she stepped out of the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I wiped my tears and looked outside the window. This was how Winterville was. Better to say, this was how the town was. The Warriors got away with anything since they held a rank among the humans and werewolves. Also, Sam and Nat were from reputed wolf families that paid donations to this college. This college pretty much ran on the whims of the wealthy and powerful. The complaints of common people like us were either never heard or pushed away. Sam used to be sweet when we began our relationship and things were great. Until that one day. He called me to his house and told me that he heard I was sleeping with one of his friends. It was, of course, a lie. I tried my best to explain and prove myself. But his temper just got worse and he hit me. I was sent to the hospital, terribly injured. Sam would sit right outside my chamber and visit me daily, telling me how sorry he was. I believed that he was sorry at that time. But things only got worse from there. Professor Jade stepped back into the room with a first aid kit and applied antiseptic on the back of my hand, where the heel had dug into my skin. I hissed in pain and asked, “Is it going to affect my grades?” “I am afraid it would. Detention carries a negative mark on your grades.” She said, her face stoic. She was used to students getting bullied and injured like this. And I was slowly turning into a frequent visitor. If this continued, then my scores would degrade and I won’t be able to secure a good job outside Wilfair. “You can leave once the bell rings.” Professor Jade informed me as she was done with treating my bruises and stalked out of the class. Sometimes I wondered how these people were so heartless. This was my final year, with two semesters left and I had plans to move out of this dreadful town. When I started to face the bullying regularly, I fought back with what I could, but the consequences fired back on me, burning me down to ashes. My parents became the talk of the town because everyone thought I was the problem, not Sam. The typical toxic mindset of the townsfolk. And it left behind a rift between my parents and me. I wanted to be free of all this. And for that, I needed to secure good grades. But with my frequent visit to the detention room, it was getting harder. I heard the bell ring and slung my bag on my shoulder, planning the ways I could stretch more hours at night to compensate for the marks that I would be losing for detention. I stepped out of the class and my face went pale when I noticed Sam standing with his boy gang, an evil smile on their faces. I did not understand why they were smiling until I took one step ahead when ice-cold water splashed on my body from above. *****************************************SKY’S POV We had a funeral for Aisel after he… I blinked back the tears as I stared at the garden through the window. I hadn’t expected him to go away like that. If I had known, my words would have been different. I wanted to say I loved him and missed him and I forgive him. “Sky,” I smelled hot chocolate and turned behind to find my white chocolate holding a cup in her hand. She extended the cup towards me, the hot fumes touching my soaked cheeks. “Thanks lovely.” I said and took a sip from the cup. It tasted heavenly. Jannet was amazing at making hot chocolate and I was a fan of hot chocolate now. She took a seat beside me and rubbed my shoulder, “Wanna talk about it?” She had given me some space after dad passed away and told me she was here to talk if I wanted to. I couldn’t ask for a more understanding mate. It was her maturity which influenced me to a great extent and Silver had told me how he I was slowly changing into a more responsible man. Was I? I didn’t know. But I wa
JANNET’S POVDuring the wedding celebrations, I felt Sky’s constant gaze on me. I slowly looked at him and was met with his blue eyes eye-fucking me. If his gaze could burn clothes, I would have been naked by now.Avery danced with the Alpha and Sky walked towards me. He looked hot in a black blazer over his black turtle-neck top. He leaned down and whispered, “I should have paid the priest to get us married here too.”I blushed and tugged the ends of his blazer to straighten it. His face hardened a little, “I will be waiting for you outside the gates once the party is over.”“Okay.” I was excited to meet him. After Avery finished her dance with the Alpha, one of the warriors played Shape of You and a lot of them joined the dance floor, showing off their moves.Avery ran over to me and pulled me in a hug. She had freed her legs from the heels and was bare feet. “Goddess, they hurt.” She said and I wrapped an arm around her shoulder, watching everyone dance to the beats.“You wanna dan

AVERY’S POV I couldn’t move, I was too tired. Before my eyes closed, the last I remembered was the doctors pulling out the baby. I wanted to smile and get a look, but my vision was blurry. When I fluttered my eyes open, I was resting on a hospital bed. In the corner of the room, I saw Dominic leaning against the wall. His eyes looked puffy and red as if he had cried before this. What happened? “The baby!” I sat up and an excruciating pain shot through my back. Dominic came to my side and made me lean back on the bed. I looked at him, “Dom…the baby…” “Hush, calm down. You just woke up. Take some rest.” his eyes held no expression, they were blank. Why was he behaving like this? His behavior scared me. There was a certain emptiness in my heart that I couldn’t comprehend. “Dom. Where is the baby?” I asked, the impatience clear in my voice. I just wanted to see my child. Was that too much to ask? Dominic did not respond and turned his back on me. He approached a crib on the other
DOMINIC’S POVAvery slowly sat on my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck. She looked nervous.“And smells different.” Asphalt added.I frowned and pulled her closer to me, sniffing her neck. She had a soft tint of rose on her cheeks while I sniffed her. She indeed smelt different. It was not a perfume, it was her natural scent mixed with something…strange.“Dom, what are you doing?” she asked, the nervousness not lifting from her face. I could hear her heartbeat pacing, feeling her stress crawl through my skin. As mates, we could feel each other’s emotions. But why was she so nervous?“Did any of those bitches stir any problem in the coven?” I asked, my face hardened. Avery ran her own coven with thousands of witches under it. Some of them were not very trustworthy, so I always stayed alert. She shook her head and my frown deepened. Then what was the problem?Sean walked in and bowed his head, “Luna, two wolves have initiated a brawl in the fighting grounds and it is hard to stop
DOMINIC’S POV “Stay calm, Alpha. Repeat with me. Breathe in, breathe out.” Sky’s annoying voice buzzed in my ears like those mosquitoes you want to squash with your hands. I wanted to do the same. But he wouldn’t die and whine later like the child he was. I shot him a deadly glare and he retreated, knowing well my anger was at its limit. It had been fucking four hours since I saw her. When I woke up in the morning, I expected her to be beside me, lying naked, but she wasn’t. That’s when I learned she was stolen by her best friend for the wedding. I didn’t understand the hype of wasting so much time on make-up and shit. I would have married her if she walked down the aisle in her pink pajamas. She was beautiful to me, no matter what the circumstance. “I would have liked her to wear no clothes,” Asphalt chuckled and a sinful smirk lifted the corner of my lips. No clothes were better. But it was reserved for us. “Right. How long?” he growled and I looked at my Rolex. “How long, Sky
I breathed a sigh of concern and stared at my eyebags reflecting in the mirror. I was so excited for this day, and Dominic wasn’t feeling sleepy either. So…we kind of spent the night making love to each other. I only got two hours of sleep after that.Jannet was standing right behind, her hands on her hips, disappointment clear on her face, “Which part of a beauty sleep consisted of having sex with your man last night?”I gave her a sheepish smile, “It's good excercise. I slept like a log after that. You should try it too.” I got a smack on my arm in response from her. There was a knock at the door. Jannet answered it and didn’t let me see who it was. I didn’t need to. I could feel them outside the door.“With due respect, Alpha Dark. We agreed on you not seeing her before the wedding,” she said, her voice a little shaky.“Fuck the agreement. I can’t wait this long,” he said and a grin shaped my lips. It was fun to torture him, though I missed him too. I might get punished later for i
AVERY’S POV It all made sense now. Asphalt and I were bound together. But the strange thing was, it was because of my past self’s love for him. In this life, I was scared of both of them and they chased me but in the past, I was the one chasing after them. Aisel was right. There were certain things we would never understand. I smiled at Asphalt who look concerned after he saw my eyes turn white. “What happened to you?” “Nothing. Just saw our past,” I said and pulled him in a deep kiss. If I ever met the Moon Goddess again, I would thank her for giving me this blessing. There were a lot of hardships, but we crossed them together. The past was not necessary, it was the present that mattered more. So I opted to not speak about it to them. Asphalt broke the kiss and whispered, “Time to punish you.” I blinked in confusion and he pulled me up in his arms. He took me to our bedroom and placed me on the bed. I kissed him passionately, our tongues clashing inside for dominance un
AVERY’S POVI sat with Dominic on the portico, overlooking the training of the pack members. He had his arm wrapped around my waist while I rested my head on his shoulder. It felt good to have everything go back to normal. After I pulled the soul of the witches out of Castiel, his body couldn’t take the toll and he died. His soul was consumed by Asphalt and we buried his body in that forest. Dominic took responsibility of the town after some of it was ruined. It took a month to get everything restored, but with my powers, the town was able to breathe again. There were no dark clouds on the sky and sunlight shone over us, welcoming us with its warmth. Since my body was revived from death, Dominic and Asphalt had me staying extremely close to them. If I walked into the bathroom for a minute, they would get worried.I chuckled at the thought. They were getting overprotective, but I didn’t mind it. I loved every second of their presence and wouldn’t ask for anything less. But there was so
