Aurora’s POV: My body tingled wherever Klaus’ fingers touched, and it seemed to me like his touch lit a fiery flame down the length of my body. I gulped as I stared up at him. “This is exactly where you’re meant to be, love. Why would you think otherwise?” He said softly, confusing me even further. For a minute, I wanted to believe him. I wanted to think that he was not mad and that I really was supposed to be here, with or without a child. It took every ounce of my resolve to free myself from these daunting thoughts, and when I did, I stepped away. “Please…” I said, snapping out of his charm. “I want to leave,” I repeated. “Tell me. What have I done wrong? Is the room not to your liking? Has something upset you?” Why was he saying all these things? Surely he couldn’t be so daft as to not know the real reason why I couldn’t stay here. “Stop it!” I screamed. Klaus remained calm, he didn’t even flinch at my tone. “Do you intend to keep me here like some sort of sla
Aurora’s POVI washed up quickly. Even though I had barely slept all night, excitement buzzed through me. I couldn’t keep my hand off my stomach, rubbing it at different intervals and smiling to myself. I was starting to notice a slight roundness to the curve of my abdomen. It felt so good to be an expectant mother again, not that I had ever stopped in the real sense. I chose a light v-necked dress for today and I had barely pulled it over my head when I heard a knock at the door. I hastily pulled down my dress and opened the door. A tinge of disappointment worked its way through my insides. There was only a maid at my door. I chewed my lip nervously, wondering why I had been expecting someone else, Klaus specifically. I blushed on remembering his peculiar way of escorting me. “The alpha has sent for you, my lady. I shall escort you” The young lady said. “Of course,” I said, locking the door behind me. I followed behind her meekly. This time, I made sure to take note of the route
Aurora’s POVIn the end, I couldn’t come up with a suitable reply. My brain was literally blank. I could only stare directly at Klaus as if under a spell. “It seems I have managed to shock you again ”“Yes…” I answered. “I realize we didn’t get off to the most ideal start, but I hope we can make the best of our situation,” Klaus adds. “The most ideal start?” I laughed “You called me a liar severally. Without even knowing me, you judged me harshly. You took me away from my family to prove a sick point. You threatened to separate me permanently from my dad. You…” I was on a roll. All my pent-up anger sprang forth like water bursting through a dam. The nerve of the man! “And now, you’ve suddenly decided that I can be trusted. What changed Alpha?”Klaus winced “I’m sorry,”“You’re sorry?” I got up. I couldn’t believe the nerve of the man. I was tired of being treated like a toy, to be picked up and discarded on whims. First, Michael humiliated me and then came back begging. Now, Klaus
Aurora’s POVI struggled to continue my conversation with Danielle after that. My mind was reeling from what Danielle told me. It was no wonder that Klaus had not believed me at first. Hell, I wouldn’t even believe myself. Doubts were starting to sprout up in my mind. What if I had truly made a mistake? No. I of all people needed to believe in myself, I had not lied. Klaus was the only man I had been with and hence, he could only be responsible. I refused to let my mind wander about other possibilities. “You’ve been quiet. Is something wrong?” Danielle remarked. We were now on our way back. “Not at all” I lied. “I was just feeling tired. I barely slept last night and now the fatigue is catching up to me” I looked over at Danielle. She seemed to believe my excuse and didn’t comment further on my silence. When we got back to the Packhouse, I marveled at the structure; I don’t think I would ever get used to the size of this place. Inside, a beautiful red-haired woman sat on a chaise
Aurora’s PovOver the course of the following days, I quickly realized that my plan to escape would be next to impossible. The blood moon pack had only one point of entry and exit which was heavily guarded. Not to mention how I stood out like a sore thumb here, it would be way too easy for me to be caught. I spent the majority of the first few days following Danielle around. She was great company despite our age difference and I had come to think of her as the big sister I never had. But one day, I discovered the Pack library and now I spend most of my time there. It was stocked and filled with an impossible number of books; I wasn’t sure I would be able to finish reading them in this lifetime. I didn’t see Savannah except at dinner time. Even Klaus was scarce; I didn’t come across him in the Pack House except when it was time to eat and even then he didn’t speak to me. It was oddly displeasing how he seemed to be avoiding me now. I sometimes wonder if it was because he was spending
Aurora’s POVI was not at all expecting Klaus to smile in reaction to me slapping him. I quietly watched as his lips spread in what could only be termed a sinister smile.“You are stronger than I expected” He commented while rubbing his cheek. “Do you know you’re the only one to ever do this and live?”“I’m s-sorry,” I said, unable to look him in the eyes. I was still reeling in shock from what I had done. Throughout my life, I had never shown a single violent tendency and here I was slapping an Alpha without even thinking about it. He tilted up my chin, making sure that I was looking at him. “I guess I deserved that.” He saidI was 99% sure he looked guilty. Who was this man and what had he done with the arrogant Klaus?“I shouldn’t have said that you were trying to tease.” He continued. “But what was I thinking with you standing there like that? Do you know how difficult it was for me to keep everyone’s eyes off you? I don’t like people staring at what is mine” He said with a posse
Aurora’s POVA few days later…The following days were a flurry of activities; I spent most of my time being Danielle’s unofficial co-planner for the summit. From dusk to dawn, I assisted Danielle in her meticulous planning, down to every single detail; what food should be served? What kind of entertainment should be offered? How many Alphas would be in attendance with their mates? What type of bedding did each prefer? Which maids would be assigned to which room? Decisions to be made were more numerous than I had expected. You would think Danielle was planning her wedding with the amount of effort she put into making this summit “The best to ever hold.” Danielle would talk about how she hated planning events but I suspected that was untrue, left to me, she seemed to enjoy the chaos. The only reason I even remotely anticipated the event was because my dad would be in attendance. The summit was only two days away and guests were due to arrive today or tomorrow. I had been on the lo
The last person Michael had expected to see at the Alpha summit was Aurora. His ex was seated next to her father, acting like she hadn’t noticed him entering the room. He smiled sardonically when he realized the seat on her other side was empty and promptly sat in it. Michael could feel the tension rolling off Aurora in waves and he was pleased knowing he still had some kind of effect on her. He greeted the other Alphas in the room, some of them were acquaintances of his while others were generally familiar to him. Apart from Klaus and of course Aurora, everyone else had replied to his greetings warmly. He wasn’t too bothered about the lack of warmth from the Superior Alpha, Klaus was an arrogant prick who probably thought the world revolved around himself. It was a wonder how he was even liked at all in their community. His thoughts were redirected to Aurora. Her presence here indicated that Alpha Gerald must have chosen her as the next in line to become Alpha of the pack. Emily w
