Chapter Forty Five.

Aurora’s POV

I struggled to continue my conversation with Danielle after that. My mind was reeling from what Danielle told me. It was no wonder that Klaus had not believed me at first. Hell, I wouldn’t even believe myself. Doubts were starting to sprout up in my mind. What if I had truly made a mistake? No.

I of all people needed to believe in myself, I had not lied. Klaus was the only man I had been with and hence, he could only be responsible. I refused to let my mind wander about other possibilities.

“You’ve been quiet. Is something wrong?” Danielle remarked. We were now on our way back.

“Not at all” I lied. “I was just feeling tired. I barely slept last night and now the fatigue is catching up to me” I looked over at Danielle. She seemed to believe my excuse and didn’t comment further on my silence.

When we got back to the Packhouse, I marveled at the structure; I don’t think I would ever get used to the size of this place.
