Eira's POV I ended up wearing something casual, well at least that's what the other maids and Mona claimed. This was anything but casual. They had picked out a matching pair of a cross-button shirt and a slim fitting trouser. The cross-button shirt came with a cape and badges of all kinds, it was also laced with gold chains hanging from it's breast pocket. I wore a white glove to match my seemingly casual look. “ When you said casual, this wasn't what I had in mind,” I whispered to Mona as we headed outside. “ You said you wanted casual, not something cheap,” she answered. “ Besides, how in the world did you convince yourself that you were going to find cheap clothes in your wardrobe? Have you forgotten that you're supposed to be the princess?” Mona nagged. “ Maybe I should just get that then while I'm in the market. Cheap clothes are perfect for outings,” I stated, living a low profile life once in a while wouldn't be that bad. “ Don't think of doing an
Eira's POV We walked into the main streets and at least I and Kia were finally paired up. Mona and Anakin walked behind us arguing all the way. “ Is there any place in particular you'd like to go to, Your Highness?” Kia asked. Why was he still addressing me formally? “ Erm…” “ What am I saying? I doubt you know anywhere. Aren't you always in the palace?” He asked rhetorically, not once making eye contact with me. “ You don't really have to put it that way,” I sighed. Besides, he was one to talk like he wasn't from a similar family background with me. “ If you see anything that you like as we're walking, you can tell me so we'll get it for you,” he informed. I thought after winning him in today's sparring session that he'd treat me more like a friend or at least treat me like he would treat his fellow knights but here he is treating me like something fragile and naive. I hated it. “ Can I do that as well? I know a lot of great places we can buy thi
Eira's POV “ I want to get scarfs,” I pointed at a shop that sold all types and designs of scarfs. “ Alright, we'll be outside waiting for you or would you prefer us to help you pick out scarfs for you?” Kia asked. I hated how he acted like my personal guard even though he was. Why can't he be less professional??? “ Oo! Oo!!” Anakin raised his hand like he was the one Kia was asking. “ I can see you have a splendid taste in things, Cleo and the winter is approaching. But given your inexperience in shopping, I think it'll be a good idea for me to follow you in,” he cleared his throat. “ Absolutely, not,” Kia hit the back of his head. “ Cleo will decide that and I don't think if she had to take anyone it would be you,” Kia snapped at him. “ Prin…Cleo, what's your decision?” Mona nearly added my title. “ Yes, what's your decision? Should we…” “ Just stay outside and don't you think of coming in with me. I'm talking to the both of you!” I raised my
Eira’s POV March 14th, 1725 was the day I had long awaited. Today was the day I become Luna. Werewolves were expected to find their wolf once they turned twenty-two and today was exactly that day. I was going to wolf out during the official mating ceremony between me and my betrothed - the Alpha. “ You look gorgeous today, Lady Eira,” the maids who helped me with my makeup and dress complimented. “ That's thanks to you all though,” I appreciated. “ I'm super excited for you! You've waited so long for this day so how do you feel? Excited or nervous?” Mrs Belinda, the head maid asked. “ Both, I think,” I answered nervously. I was excited to finally be married to Alpha Axel but nervous because I was to wolf out in front of the entire pack. The thought of everything that was to happen this night under the full moon came with a new type of pressure but it didn't matter if that was all it takes to be with Axel. “ Sure, you are! Who wouldn't be?!” She exclaime
Eira’s POVTwo months later “ Can you help with cleaning the vases if you're done with your kitchen duty?” Mrs Belinda asked me. “ Sure,” I answered with a smile. Two months had passed after my failed wedding with Alpha Axel and as much as I had reassured everyone close to me that it was alright, I knew they took precautions around me to make sure nothing triggered me. To be honest, it hurts to be in the very same palace I would have been the mistress of, as a maid but it's not like I had a choice. I for one knew that Alpha Axel wouldn't have hesitated to kick me out when our mating ceremony fell through but his late father's words had a play in my stay. And as much as the old Alpha was dead, the ministers respected the wishes he left behind. I probably wouldn't have been able to move on if not for cooking. During my rainy days, I would often cook to relieve stress and of course, all Lilith did was make life harder for me. She did her utmost best to ruin me which
Eira’s POVThe day of the banquet I still found it unreal that Alpha Axel would assign such an important task of preparing and supervising the cooking for such an important day event. “ For the first time, Alpha Axel doesn't seem to be blind. He finally looked past your previous relationship and recognized your talent,” Lara squealed in excitement still living in the bliss of such an appointment. “ I appreciate how happy you are for me but at this rate, you'll get the appointment revoked,” I sighed, tired of explaining to her not to voice out every thought. “ Alright, no need to get mad. I will do my best to ensure that my mouth doesn't put you into trouble after all, you've worked your butt off for this,” she drew an invisible zipper in front of her lips. “ Thank you,” I muttered. How exactly was I going to explain that I didn't cook so eagerly and earnestly to get kitchen duty or spearhead any special event? That was just me channeling my frustrations and p
Eira’s POV I stared at Nina, Lilith’s minion who had dashed out from nowhere and claimed the food I cooked was poisoned. “ What do you mean the food's poisoned?” Axel took the words right from my mouth. “ I watched when Eira was cooking and I noticed how she suspiciously added something, so I decided to check it out once she had gone out. I found out that she added poisonous mushrooms instead of the usual non-harmful mushrooms,” she heaved, her expression that of fear and panic. Someone was trying to sabotage me because I knew I would never poison Lilith not even if I don't like her. She opened a small cloth and showed them some button mushrooms with was the mushroom I used in the soup. Wait… those weren't the mushrooms I bought. These were destroying angels, just then, my heart began to beat faster and faster. Someone was framing me. “ These are the mushrooms I found in the kitchen. They are destroying angels and you can ask any top chef here, they'll be able
Eira’s POV My heart pounded hard against my chest as I sprinted across the dense forest, my own ragged breathing echoing in my ears. The air was thick with the scent of pine needles and damp earth, and the sound of my hasty footsteps mingling with the rustling of leaves. I could hear the sound of horses chasing after me. “ Find her and kill her!” The general’s voice echoed through the near silent forest. Tears streamed down my cheeks as fear gripped me. I didn't want to die, at least not now. “ Could I really outrun them?” I pondered as I ran as fast as I could. Lara had given me a map but there wasn't any time to look at it. “ Captain! I've found her!” One of the knights yelled and the next thing I heard was a wheezing sound. I fell to the ground as my leg gave in and an arrow went past my face and stuck into a tree - that had been the wheezing sound I had heard. My breath became more unsteady as I panicked, I stood up still dazed by what had happened, my
