Chapter Thirty Six

Nancy was literally frozen where she stood. She had no idea what the cause of her increased heart rate was. The fact that he was standing too close to her enough to make her forget everything else? The fact that his sister saw them in this position and assumed she had feelings for him when all she wanted was for him to let her be or the fact that he just said something which made her doubt if she heard him well.

Connor held her hands, staring deep into her eyes, with the hope that she was going to give him the response he wanted to hear.
