CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

"What do you mean?" I asked as we walked on, past the corridors of the pack house and towards the front door. The entire pack house seemed to have emptied out: I knew that all the guards and maids were at the scene of the execution.

"The crowd...." Colin paused as we reached the front door. "Let's just say news about your supposed rebellion has spread like wildfire, and people aren't too happy with you."

After these words, Colin pushed the front door open and walked out. I followed him closely, pondering on his words.

"They're ready to tear down the entire pack house if Julian is eventually killed, Alpha." Colin continued.

"Well, that's the whole essence of the execution, isn't it?" I growled, walking on.

"Alpha...." Colin called, reaching out to hold me back. His expression was strained and full of worry. "Do you not think you should think this execution through before doing it? Killing that man might be a tad too much—"
