Daunting memories

It pinched me and got out the sad memories I wanted buried. My mind was not at rest.

“What is it?” he asked.

“I don’t know.”

“You can’t tell me you don’t know. There has to be something up with you to be acting like this.”

“If you’re such a genius then figure it out yourself!” I yelled to my feet, going away from him as he ran after me to hold my hand.

“I’m trying to help you here but I can’t do anything if you won’t tell me what the problem is!” he yelled back. “I can’t do anything but I want to. I got you out here so we’d have a good time and relax.

“Maybe take a few drinks here and there, make new friends with the humans. Anything is better than being mad at me for something I know nothing about.”

“My kids, Conan! My kids! While I’m out here having fun, the moon goddess is the only one who knows what they might be going through.”

He opened his mouth to say something before deciding against it. There was nothing he could say against me so he kept quiet.

“I’m hurt,” I went on
