The attack II

We set up camp and waited to be attacked by the rogues. Fires were built inside the tents and those who had been in the icy water were inside taking in the heat.

I on the other hand stayed with Jade in a different tent as she watched the fire burn.

She had woken from the explosion with a mild headache and I was glad that was all. Her healing factor had kicked in already which had saved her from succumbing to her injuries.

“You seem worried,” she smiled.

“That’s because we are stuck in the middle of nowhere and I have seen so many of our people die,” I responded. “I watched a man get trapped within the ice. Before I could break the ice, there was an explosion and it killed him instantly.”

“What are you going to do when you find the rogues?”

“Rip out their throats and toss them to the polar bears in this region.”

“Or we could give them a benefit of the doubt and…”
