Chapter 9 End

That was a small price to pay for my peace of mind. I knew he would never rise to prominence, even with that money. He betrayed his marriage and went back on his word. He would never thrive in any industry.

With Charles pinning him down, it didn't take long before that money was gone. Joyce found him, after all. They were on the streets when I bumped into them again. I was in a car, going on a trip with my friend.

Suddenly, I noticed a couple having a scuffle on the streets. Joyce was grabbing Yves' collar, demanding, "You made me a director because I could talk and drink. But that Queenston guy kicked me out now."

She growled, "This won't happen as you wish, Yves. You're not throwing me away like a ragdoll. Who's going to pay for my damages? I gave everything to you, and now I have nothing! You have to do something! You think 75 hundred is enough to pay for my time?"
