The wedding ceremony proceeded as planned without any hitch. Hindi nga namalayan ni Laverna ay nasa parte na sila ng kasal kung saan hahalikan na siya ni Gunner.

She watched him lift her veil with a smile plastered on his lips as if he was eager to claim her in front of a lot of people. Habang papalapit sa kaniya si Gunner, napatingin si Laverna sa direksyon kung saan nakaupo si Nicholas. Nakatingin lang din ito sa kaniya kaya’t ang nasa isip ni Laverna ay ang humingi ng tawad sa lalaking mahal niya bago niya naramdaman ang halik ni Gunner.

“Keep your eyes on me, Laverna,” Gunner reminded, holding her chin and making her look at him. “You can have your time with your lover alone later, but let me savor this moment with you.”
