Chapter 6

Isabella’s P.O.V

“What do you think you’re doing?” I snapped at him angrily trying to wriggle away from his grip but his powerful hands were like steel against my struggles.

He leaned forward ignoring my struggles and sniffed my mate mark. He frowned immediately as if he was disgusted by the smell he had perceived.

“You have a mate?” He questioned and slowly pulled away from me as we both adjusted our dishevelled clothes.

“Not anymore.” I said, staring right at him after heaving a sigh of relief.

“Oh I’m sorry about that.” He quickly apologised and gave me a reasonable distance to recover from what he had just put me through. My hands were still trembling so I hid them behind me.

“Is this how you harass women in your pack?” I frowned at him, aiming to make him feel guilty and hoping that he would desist from asking me a lot of questions.

“Why don’t we have some tea to calm our nerves?” He offered but at this point, there was no way I wanted to be close to this man.

“I’ve lost my appetite and I just want to sleep now.” I told him calmly, my feet were already aching because of the heels I wore and I just wanted to shut my eyes and succumb to sleep.

“Well then, I’ll escort you to your room.” He offered, I wanted to decline so badly but I didn’t want to seem suspicious. If I get kicked out now, I have no idea how life would treat me and I still hadn’t gotten over my experience with those rogues and didn’t want to take any chances right at that moment.

“Sure.” I nodded. And right at that moment, a knock landed at the door from without, taking our attention at once.

The door creaked open and a man walked in with a calm composure. The newcomer was undeniably handsome but still not as charming as the one who had found me and brought me here.

“Alpha the hideout of the rogues have been found, what’s our next move?” The newcomer asked.

“Capture them all and lock them up in the dungeon.” My host commanded. The newcomer nodded before walking out leaving us once again in silence.

“What’s wrong?” My host questioned, noticing how I looked at him.

“May I know your name and the name of your pack please?” I mumbled.

"Coming from a person who is trying to hide her identity." He said, his words laced with sarcasm.

“Well, I'm Ethan Bloodmoon.” He replied casually.

"Ethan Blood...moon?" I gasped in shock. No this can't be true Ethan Bloodmoon can't be this nice. This had to be some sort of joke or something. "You mean Ethan Bloodmoon…." I repeated in surprise.

“Yes Ethan Bloodmoon the hybrid." He cut me off, rolling his eyes at me.

I knew there was an alpha with such a name who was hated by a lot of packs because he was half Lycan and werewolf, so they always avoided him.

It all made sense how he had killed the rogues without breaking a sweat. I was standing before the famous Ethan Bloodmoon. It was then I realised that my initial thoughts to stab him were foolish. I was foolish to think I could surprise this man in an attack.

He made his way out of the dining room and I followed behind, maintaining a reasonable distance between us. I still wasn’t feeling safe being so close to him and the new revelation I had about him made me see him in a new light.

I was scared of him now, scared of the powers he had because I was well aware that there was absolutely nothing I could do if Ethan Bloodmoon decided to harm me.

“Where are you taking me?” I questioned noticing I hadn’t passed this route when the servant girl had brought me over.

“We aren’t done talking so I’m taking us for a stroll.” He replied, turning his head slightly behind to take a glimpse at me.

“Okay” I replied, my voice barely a whisper, silently walking behind him. We were soon in the garden and I couldn’t help but admire the place with a smile plastered on my lips. The night lights made it even more aesthetically pleasing, hearing the cricket noises and the fireflies dancing around plus the night breeze that grazed my skin carefully, allowing the initial heat to vanish.

“So what do you want to talk about?” I stopped walking and asked Alpha Ethan politely this time. We had been walking silently for a moment and it was beginning to get awkward for me.

“It’s still about you, you’ll be staying in this pack and I need to make sure you’re not a threat.” He replied in a serious tone causing me to gulp.

The light from the moon shone down casting its light on him and making him even more attractive to behold and yet, fearful and menacing in a way. I looked away from him as my cheeks burned red.

“What makes you think I want to stay?” I raised my brows with a smirk on my lips, he slowly moved towards me and I saw a smirk creeping on his lips.

“I’m pretty sure you don’t want to end up being a play thing for rogues.” He whispered in my ear causing me to jump at the thought of it. Also, his breath that had teased my skin caused me to shiver slightly. He moved away from me and continued walking away from me again.

“Are you underestimating me?” I frowned as I walked beside him. I never liked the way alpha’s looked down on others because they thought they were stronger, I was also an alpha but I never looked down on others.

“Not at all.” He chuckled. “You’re free to do what you want.” He said.

“Do you have any more questions, if not let me just go inside.” I grimaced, he had no sympathy at all. I was still wearing the heels the maid got for me and my toes were already screaming at me for the pressure I was exerting on them.

"Now that I think about it, an ordinary wolf couldn’t possibly face that many wolves and survive without a scar.” He said, his voice turning chilly suddenly.

“A lone wolf can’t be as beautiful as you so either tell me where you’re from or you shall die here and now.” He threatened as his long sharp claws protruded from his hands, startling me.

I couldn’t move nor could I say anything to defend myself, I was fixated at the same position and couldn’t take my eyes off his claws. Was I going to die right now? What could I possibly do?

Gosh how can a man change moods so quickly?

Lots of questions engrossed my mind as fear still engulfed me.

"Who are you exactly? Some spy sent here to gather information?" He asked cold and at the same time, he was approaching me slowly with extended claws with a menacing stare. I backed away in pure fear...
