Ethan's P.O.VWith the threat that faced me clearly neutralized, I turned my attention to the rogue settlement before me. I knew if this was where Logan was held, Axel would be there which meant the place would be under strict watch too.I slowly inched closer and closer to what appeared to be a cave and at the same time making sure to approach downwind so I wouldn't be smelt out. Once I inched just a little closer I could hear the rogues and smell them clearly but besides the rogues stench, I perceived Logan too!I hastened my speed and approached faster, momentarily allowing my feelings to take the better part of me as I stepped on a few broken twigs on the forest floor. The cracking of the twigs wasn't that loud but to a werewolf it was loud enough.I paused in apprehension and watched the rogues up ahead of me. They were still talking freely and making rude jokes but one of them began to scan my direction and I knew he had heard my movements. I quickly ducked under the cover of t
Logan's P.O.VEvery single molecule of my body screamed out in agony as I hung there on the cave wall. My wounds hurt and ache terribly while my stomach hurt with hunger and my throat dry from thirst. My consciousness kept slipping in and out as I hung there pleading for death to rescue me from that fate.It was one of the moments where I passed out that a loud voice jolted me out of my dreamless sleep. “Attack!” The voice reverberated throughout the cave and continued to echo in my ears for a while. Even in my weak state, I managed to look up, it was just a quick and weak glance but I believed I saw someone at the cave entrance confronting the rogues. The prospect of a savior fueled me with more energy and I looked up again in order to try and decipher what was going on. That was when I saw him, it was Ethan! He was at the entrance of the cave and he was alone. The light of hope that had lit up in my soul was immediately doused by doubt when I remembered my recent disappointment
Ethan's P.O.VWith Axel finally neutralized, a sense of relief washed over me suddenly. Axel was the one person in the whole werewolf community and the wastelands who could go head to head with me, a lot of people actually believed that Axel was the werewolf who had the ability to defeat me but with the results of the fight that had just come to an end, it was obvious that I was yet to find my match.“Come on and free me.” Logan's voice came out hoarse and strained. In my relief I had momentarily forgotten about Logan. His voice made me look up and for the first time since I had come to the cave, I stopped to look at him clearly, taking in his bloodied and mangled form as he hung there on the cave wall.Without a word, I walked up to where he was, and with my sharp claws, I quickly lashed out and cut off the chains that held him in place. Once the chains were off, Logan moved forward, unable to stand and was about to fall but I reached out a hand quickly and held him in place.Logan
Isabella's P.O.VThe dirt road was narrow and dusty, sending cloud after cloud of dust whirling up as our small car drove forward. It's been a while since the last time I was out in the wastelands and coming out this day stirred a lot of mixed emotions and feelings within me.Emily sat beside me grimly with her eyes fixed on the window. Her face was blank and devoid of emotion, giving me reason to believe that she was going through the same thing I was passing through. The car that carried us was driven by one of Ethan's servants, the man was supposed to drop us off and then return to the pack as soon as possible. What really ate me up was the fact that we didn't have the time to say farewell to Ethan before I left.Well it was pretty obvious that Ethan didn't want to relieve the pain of seeing me leave so he left the pack without even saying anything to me, all he left behind was just a note, a farewell note that only threatened to bring tears to my eyes, making me feel guilty too.“
I felt a smile of giddy happiness stretch across my lips as Logan strolled confidently towards me down the aisle. Yes, he was late, and it wasn't customary for brides to wait for their grooms at the altar, but I couldn't care less. I was finally marrying the man of my dreams, and a little tardiness wasn't going to ruin my day. I expected to see the same look of unbridled joy on Logan's face, or even one interspersed with a mildly nervous expression. When Logan was close enough for me to study, however, the expression on his face wasn't one I could decipher. Our eyes didn't meet as he came to a stop in front of me and the stately priest who cleared his throat self-importantly and began the ceremony."Cutting it pretty close, aren't you?", I joked in a whisper, smiling besottedly at the man who would make me the happiest woman on earth. His eyes stayed firmly affixed on the ground, not even giving the slightest response to my attempt at breaking the sudden tension between us. With a co
It was late evening when I stood from where I'd lain curled up on the wooden floor.Silently, I put my hands up to my hair and tugged, sending the tiny pins holding my hair up in the intricate hairdo pouring to the ground.I tossed the veil pinned to the back of my head away, not even caring where it landed and walked to the small door at the side of the church. The little field outside was deserted and I thanked the Goddess for that. I wasn't sure I would be able to stand seeing any sneering gazes.Thankfully, the church was near one of the woods that bordered Ravensong and my parents pack, Stormfang. With a final gaze at the Ravensong Pack house in the distance, I trudged into the woods, the lengthy train of my dress dragging behind me sluggishly. I walked for what seemed like hours, but was really only just a few minutes.Stormfang was very close to Ravensong. My eyes were swollen with tears and they stung anew whenever I thought of what had happened.I couldn't wait until I was
Ever since I was a little girl, I'd had an irrational fear of the dark.I jumped at little noises that were most times just the creaking of my bed, and startled at sudden movements that were always just random items of clothing hanging off chairs or in closets. Now though, nothing about those fears were irrational or fake.Trees with long branches and sweeping leaves waved back and forth in the slight wind, and the wind made a high whistling sound as it wove through the dense vegetation, rustling the dead leaves on the forest floor.I hugged my arms to myself as I walked, the heels of my shoes sinking into the soft earth. I was suddenly yanked backwards by my dress and I screamed, whirling around and expecting to see someone holding on to me.I heaved a quiet sigh of relief and a titter at my own jumpiness when I saw that the train of my dress had simply snagged on a tree root.Sighing, I gripped the flimsy lace firmly and pulled taut, ripping it in two so that it now hung halfway to
I felt held by steady arms, and then I was carried to a place and was laid down. “How’s she doing?” I heard a voice, more majestic than I have ever heard in entire life. “She’s coming up Alpha.” Someone responded to him. “Make sure she wakes up.” The majestic voice said again. Where was I? I tried to open my eyes but my eye lids seemed stuck in place letting darkness consume me. Suddenly I saw myself in a church. Logan was saying the vows but the bride wasn’t me. “Noooo..” I screamed trying to separate them but my hands went through them. Logan looked so happy, his smile was more beautiful than I have ever seen as he moved forward to kiss the bride. Then the scene changed and I saw my father look at me with contempt in his eyes, he looked so disgusted and my mother behaved like I wasn’t there. “Daddy….” I whispered, I couldn’t believe the look I was seeing. “Take her away, I don’t won't have anything to do with such a useless daughter, she is of no use to me.” My father sai
