Isabella’s P.O.V
“It’s good to see you're okay.” He said with a warm smile at me and I did the same in order not to appear off and odd.
"Thank you for saving me back there.” I immediately appreciated him while my eyes hungrily scanned the table that was laden heavily with different delicacies even though it was only I and him available. My stomach rumbled hungrily as I salivated over the succulent food before us.
“Nothing to be overly grateful for. I'm glad you're okay though. You only need more rest and you should be okay after that.” He said and I nodded in agreement. He was right, I needed to cool down after the ordeal I had gone through.
“Why don’t we start eating, I can tell that you're very hungry.” He said with a chuckle, making me blush slightly and wondering how he could possibly tell what I wanted.
“Sure.” I answered before digging right into my food, I didn’t care if it was poisoned because after what had happened to me, I had absolutely nothing left to live for. I knew It was foolish to trust again but this man, this stranger was giving me no reason to be weary of him.
I took a bit of everything and piled up everything on my plate. I tasted everything and perhaps it was because of my hunger because everything tasted so good.
I learned back in my chair and let out a tired sigh. I stared back at the man who was still gently eating. One look at his composed figure and perfect posture and I felt ashamed of myself wishing the ground just opened and swallowed me.
“So tell me…” he said, gaining my attention as he pushed his food aside, an indication that he was done.
“Tell you what?” I inquired with my brows scrunched up.
“Who are you?” He asked in his calm and cool demeanour.
I slowly reached for the needle and clutched it tighter, hoping he wouldn’t try anything crazy. “I’m some lady you had found in danger and saved, you could have just left me right there and we wouldn't have had any issues explaining who I am.” I replied at the same time taking a sip of water with my eyes staring right at him.
“It’s only normal that I help you, but it’s curtsy to introduce yourself.” A smirk formed on his lips as he stared at me with more interest. I felt irritated by his demeanour even though he seemed cool and not much of a threat. I couldn’t help but just hate the existence of men because they tend to ruin everything they get their hands on.
“I’m a lone wolf.” I replied, folding my hands on my chest .
“If you’re not okay with that I can as well leave.” I said sternly.
“Sounds like I'm a threat to you even though I mean no harm to you.” A light chuckle escaped his lips as he lightly dabbed his lips and placed the serviette on the table.
“You've got an attitude huh? Let's see how far this attitude of yours will take you." He said, making my insides shake in fear but I dared not show it on the outside.
I won't give him any reason to look down on me so I maintained my composure. “I do not wish to answer your question.” I said sternly.
“That’s fine.” He said with a nod, his eyes were still fixated on me as if he was trying to read me, making me feel uncomfortable.
“It’s rude to stare at someone for too long, you know” I blurted out.
“I’m curious about something else.” He leaned forward with his hands clasped together and his eyes keen with interest.
“What’s that?” I questioned with furrowed brows while reaching out for the cup of juice sitting right in front of me.
“That scar on your neck.” He replied simply, his gaze now shifted to my neck.
I instinctively used my hand to cover it, I had forgotten that I still had my mating mark exposed and because of the nature of the dress, the mark was left bare. “ It's Just a ... .scar.” I told him shifting my gaze to the table trying hard not to think about the way Logan had hurt and betrayed me.
“It’s a scar that will constantly be a reminder to keep away from things that don't belong to me.” I smiled sadly.
“Care to share with me what you mean?” He seemed even more curious but I didn’t see the need to keep up with the conversation and wanted to be alone.
“None of your business.” I snapped at him losing control of myself, he didn’t seem fazed by my reaction and smiled warmly at me.
“I’m sorry for bombarding you with so many questions, it just seemed familiar.” He apologised, making me calm down regretting why I was overreacting when he hadn’t even done anything to hurt me.
Is he usually this calm and kind or was he just leading me into a rabbit hole? Was there more to this man's kindness than meets the eye? My head swam with questions.
“I…it’s fine.” I stuttered. “I apologise for my behaviour.” I stood up from the chair and stared back at him.
“We’re not done here, I’m being nice by bringing you to my home only for you to claim to be a rogue.” He said standing up from where he sat, my instincts heightened as I watched him walk towards me intimidatingly.
“What do you mean? I am not a rogue.” I said in an effort to reassure him.
“I do understand that Rogues are rascals but you? You were wearing a wedding dress when I found you… tell me what happened.” He demanded with his smile slowly fading away as his eyes darkened. I could feel the suffocating aura in the room slowly leaving me breathless.
“How can I let someone like you remain in my pack knowing you could pose a threat by not knowing your identity?”
“You can kick me out if you don’t believe me.” I snapped at him while contemplating if it was the right time to take out the needle I have hidden in my underwear to stab him.
Sweat slowly dripped down from my face as I was slowly becoming nervous. My hands started trembling with fear, I turned around nervously and was about to leave when I heard his heavy footsteps rush towards me.
As fast as I could, I wheeled around and quickly brought out the feeble needle I had chosen. I was ready to strike him, his jugular would be a perfect target but before I could even extend it towards him, he grabbed my hands with a superhuman strength that was alarming even for werewolves.
He effortlessly pinned my hands above my head while he leaned forward with blood red eyes and bare fangs. My heart jumped to my throat and my life flashed before my eyes as the man leaned forward...

Isabella’s P.O.V“What do you think you’re doing?” I snapped at him angrily trying to wriggle away from his grip but his powerful hands were like steel against my struggles. He leaned forward ignoring my struggles and sniffed my mate mark. He frowned immediately as if he was disgusted by the smell he had perceived. “You have a mate?” He questioned and slowly pulled away from me as we both adjusted our dishevelled clothes.“Not anymore.” I said, staring right at him after heaving a sigh of relief.“Oh I’m sorry about that.” He quickly apologised and gave me a reasonable distance to recover from what he had just put me through. My hands were still trembling so I hid them behind me.“Is this how you harass women in your pack?” I frowned at him, aiming to make him feel guilty and hoping that he would desist from asking me a lot of questions. “Why don’t we have some tea to calm our nerves?” He offered but at this point, there was no way I wanted to be close to this man. “I’ve lost my ap
Isabella's P.O.VAs the frigid air sent shivers down my spine, I struggled to speak while my throat ached with fear. “I'm...not a spy.” I whispered with my voice barely audible. “I'm just trying to survive.” I said. His piercing gaze met mine, scrutinising for any glimmer of a lie and I held my breath, forcing myself to stay calm amidst the terror that surged through my veins.A long and tense silence hung in the air as he remained motionless with his expression unreadable. Then to my immense relief, his claws retracted and the suffocating atmosphere dissipated like smoke blown away by the wind.“My apologies.” he said with his voice laced with remorse. “I didn't intend to frighten you. I merely sought to ascertain your identity to ensure the safety of my pack.” He said.I nodded gulping down the lump in my throat as I attempted to steady my trembling hands. “I understand.” I stated.“Why would you assume I'm a spy?” I demanded but he remained silent with his suspicious gaze still li
Ethan’s pov(Flashback)“Where are you coming from?” I asked Elena who seemed to be sneaking out, she jerked back in shock staring at him.“Well I was going to go out to get some fresh air.” She fanned herself with her hand staring at him nervously, a smile curved on her lips as she gazed at me while making her way towards me. This woman staring before me was my mate, my beloved whom I would make my Luna.“What are you doing awake by this time?” She questioned snapping me out of my daze.“You know quite well I’m a light sleeper and when I couldn’t find you by my side I had to come look for you.” I replied.“Then go back to sleep.” She seemed to be irritated by my presence because her tone of voice had changed to that of someone who was aggravated.Taking a whiff of her scent, I could sense something different but at first I couldn’t quite tell.“Are you okay?” I was curious while stepping forward and closing the distance between us.“Yes I am, you can go back to your sleep.” She said
Isabella’s pov I was stunned that he had pulled me into a hug, my heart raced in fear and shock wondering why he was acting this way. He immediately pulled away from me in a few seconds and made his way and left, his absence leaving me lonely making me wish he didn't pull away.I still couldn’t take it off my mind that our mates were out there probably having the best time of their lives while we were here trying to heal from the emotional pain.I walked out of the lounge making my way back into the house so that I could at least rest, I’ve had enough for the day and don’t plan on stressing myself any further. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't realize I took a different route than the one we took when coming to the garden earlier. It was already late when I realized I was lost again and needed to find my way.“Tell me why this place is a freaking maze?” I grunted, staring at the hallway leading to two others, turning around hoping to find any servants or guards that cou
Isabella’s povI stood frozen in shock at his words not knowing what to say.“What are you doing Ethan?” Brian questioned displeased at the punishment I was given, he had a shocked expression on his face as he also wasn’t expecting Ethan to make such an outrageous decision.“What did you just say?” I asked just to ensure that I hadn’t just heard something else.“Do you wish for me to punish you like every other person? You should at least be grateful that I’m being lenient with you.” Ethan questioned staring down at me with a cold gaze.“Not at all, I just wasn’t expecting it.” I blurted still in a daze.“Are you sure about this?” Brian was still bewildered by it.“Take her to her room.” Ethan instructed Brian who immediately stopped asking any questions knowing that Ethan had made his decision.“Your outfit will be sent tomorrow afternoon.” Ethan said to me before Brian led me out of the office. I nodded my head still wondering why he chose to punish me this way, I just quietly follo
Isabella’s pov I was in a daze and taken aback by what this unfamiliar woman had just said as I tried to comprehend what she was talking about.“You’re the shameless slut who is trying so hard to clutch into my brother huh?” She was furious and making her way towards me, I mentally prepared myself for whatever she was about to do, there’s no way I would let anyone take advantage of me again.“What are you talking about ?” I ask her with my brows ached and my face scrunched up in confusion.“How dare you even show your face here huh?” She snapped.“I believe you have it all wrong, I don’t think I’m the one you’re referring to.” I tried to tell her as calmly as I could but the deviant look on her face told me she wasn't going to listen to me.“Nonsense! I know a slut when I see one!” She shrieked coming closer to me and a stench of alcohol hit my nose causing me to scrunch my face even more.“You’re drunk.” I mouthed the obvious and moved away from her.“Are you trying to say you’re be
Isabella’s POVMy heart was thudding faster than usual, marriage? How the hell did we get here? Was this Ethan's plan all along? My mind was racing with millions of questions, marriage is the least thing on my mind right now, after all I've been through he thinks he can just shove marriage down my throat? I must go through with my plans of escaping now more than ever. With that in mind, I composed myself before they found out that this was probably just a set up.“We are yet to determine that.” I quickly answered with a smile before Ethan could say anything stupid, I held on to my sanity l knowing that in a few hours I would be out of here without a single trace.“You two shouldn’t hold back and quit wasting time already.” The woman spoke with a concerned tone while staring at both of us like that of a mother counseling her children.“Of course, you need not worry about it, we are still contemplating it and you need not worry.” Ethan quickly responded not to make the situation awkwar
Isabelle's POV I raced towards the exit of the pack ignoring the rain still pouring down violently, the only thing I could hear were my footsteps and the raging thunder and rustling of the leaves beneath my leg as I ran as fast as I could, I didn’t want Ethan to come back and find out I was nowhere to be found, besides now that it was raining I would be able to cover my scent quite well as it would quickly diminish in the air.Lots of things ran through my mind, I couldn’t help but think of the servants that I couldn’t appreciate for taking care of me, I felt a sort of guilt but now there’s no turning back, I covered my hair as I approached the border when I sighted some werewolves guarding the gate, a sigh of frustration escaped my lips, there was no other exit that I could think of, there were barbed wires if I decided to climb over the wall which was impossible, If I decide to dig below, I would be caught and who knows what sort of traps that must have been laid there.I huffed, t
