Athena’s POV

I had no choice but to talk to him because he appeared frustrated by the way I had been treating him. I groaned and moved closer to my door, opening it. I went in first, and he followed. I sat on my bed while he stood at the door frame, his gaze on me, but mine on everything but him.

“I am sorry,” he said, and I sneered, how dare he think a simple “I am sorry” could solve anything, I have been in this pack for almost two months now, and yet he hides something contentious like this from him, he was never true with me, to begin with, and I don't know how I was going to get through this? I didn't know how I was going to forgive him; I expected him to say more than “I'm sorry,” but he didn't say anything else.

“Are you going to say a simple sorry and everything will be fine?”I questioned, and he squeezed his eyes tight, and I saw him breathe hard before exhaling.

“I am not good with words in situations like this, but I have to be honest with you; I am sorry for not telling

Athena’s POVMy smile matches the sun's, its glorious rays pouring down to the earth as I kneel to select some flowers for my herbs, and I am happy to announce that I have learned a lot that will aid me throughout the years.“Let me help you with that, you shouldn't kneel too much because of the babies,” Maya said, and I chuckled. I had been due for a week and my babies had refused to come out of my belly, but I wasn't in pain because I wanted to hold them tightly to myself for as long as I could before finally letting them come into this world. “I can do it, believe me,” I said with a chuckle. Maya, on the other hand, insisted on holding the bowl in which I was collecting the flowers. “No, I can't stand here and watch you do this; it's my duty, and you're preventing me from doing it,” Maya remarked as I groaned and stepped away from the garden, where I heard her breathe a sigh of relief. She bent down and selected the flowers for me. When she was done, she raised her head up, and

Daniel’s POVThe earthly fragrance flooded my nose as I kneeled on the muddy ground to collect something that may be used as proof to find my mate; the huge forest had housed us for a week already after my last visit to a pack hunting for my mate. I left my pack for several months, believing that Beta Carl could take care of the pack without me. Every attempt to find my mate has been unsuccessful because I haven't been able to get a glimpse of her.My wolf has argued that she is alive somewhere, somewhere that is getting increasingly difficult for me to find.I rose from the floor and returned to where I had camped; I saw the map I had drawn and the number of Packs I had visited throughout the months; I noted I had two more packs to visit before I was finished with the quest; I clutched the paper I was holding fiercely, almost tearing it in two.My faith is fading with each passing day, and I prayed to the moon goddess to allow me to find her in one of the two packs. Athena’s POVThe maids were busy arranging the hall, and I was flattered by how thrilled everyone was about my children's naming ceremony; everyone in the pack had attempted to get themselves occupied with anything that would help the naming ceremony go smoothly.I gave birth to my son and daughter with a lot of difficulties, but with the grace of the moon goddess, I did so safely, Andrew and Alice had a hard time because of that, and I chuckled when I thought about the hassle we all went through “I thought you'd be sick of watching them all the time by now.”I chuckled as I raised my head to see Alice. I had no idea when she walked into the room. “I can't believe these beautiful children came from me.”I cooed at my baby, and Alice chuckled as she sat on my bed observing the children.“They're lovely,” she replied, and I grinned broadly. Andrew entered the room with a smile on his face, and I returned his smile; he has been really supportive, and I am so pleased I met him; he was th

It seems like only yesterday that I was in the theater room with Alice, trying to push them out of my belly, but now they will be celebrating their one-year-old birthday tomorrow.“Stop it, Evan, you're going to pull a tooth,” I said, and Andrew laughed.“You worry too much about the kids, they're fine, and I'm here with them,” he said, and I groaned; I know how much I worry about them, and I can't blame myself; they're all I've got, and if anything happens to them, I don't believe I'll ever forgive myself. “Yeah, I know,” I answered with a smile as I heard a knock on the door and Andrew growled a come in, the door opened, and beta Royce entered my room.“Your immediate atten

Andrew’s POV“Yes, I believe we should build a stronger wall, and the project should begin as soon as possible,” I replied as I examined the pack's wall. It has deteriorated over time. “I heard something troubling alpha,” my beta stated, and I raised an eyebrow at him.“What have you heard that troubles you?”I inquired. “Your step-brother, he has been looking for his mate for the past two years, he returned to his pack over a war that occurred between his pack and another pack, I heard the war recently ended and he was victorious. He's getting set to visit our pack, and you know what I mean, lady athe...”I growled at him, cutting his sentences.“I don't care whether he comes here or not; Athena is mine, and he must deal with it. I'm sure that Athena won't want to go back to him,” I remarked smugly, knowing that my stepbrother Daniel always got what I wanted, always having what I wanted most, and that left me devastated and angry at him and the rest of the world. Athena’s POVI sigh as I hear snoring near me, I feel weak deep within, and I try turning on the other side of the bed I'm sleeping on, but my hand lands on a hard surface, I'm shocked, and I open my eyes immediately. I screamed when I noticed a naked unknown man lying opposite me. I stood up and fell to the floor, naked, and hurriedly grabbed the blanket next to me, wrapping it around my body; I was astonished to discover that there were two men in the room.I struggled to recall the previous night's events; I remembered a strange man coming to me and speaking to me; I remembered suddenly losing consciousness and gasping; I looked around the odd room and realized I had been kidnapped.Tears welled up in my eyes as I considered what might have happened throughout the night that I didn't remember when I heard the door open, and I was surprised to see Andrew enter the room with his beta and lady Edna. Lady Edna's face is permanently plastered with a wicked smirk, Andrew is enraged, an

Daniel’s POVI didn't expect the war to last so long; I underestimated the pack, but I am not someone you should mess with; I will trample on you and make you wish you had never thought of irritating me.“We're almost at the Dark Wand Pack,” Beta Carl said, and my heart raced. I'd missed Athena so much that I'd spent several nights dreaming of her and our child, always seeming to have her in my embrace and playing with my son, only to wake up to reality the next morning, the aftermath of the dream leaving my heart, aching and yearning for my mate.I see the love I would have had if Athena was still with me, and it hurts even more that I was the one who destroyed the lovely life I would have had. We were standing in front of the Dark Wand pack's massive wall when the gate suddenly opened, and I saw Andrew, my step-brother, approaching me; I hadn't seen him in years, and he hadn't changed. He had to have known we were coming.“Stepbrother!” I scoffed, his angry eyes mirroring mine; nei

Daniel’s POVAndrew brought me to the dungeon where those men were being held. They need to be tortured, and maybe they'll talk by then,” I remarked, as one of the guards swiftly entered the cell, shackled their hands behind their backs, and led them to the torturing chamber. They dropped to the floor, and I looked at them with rage in my eyes, barely restraining my wolf, who was on the surface attempting to take command. Athena’s POV It’s been a month since the death of Andrea and Lucas, and it still felt unreal, this past month has been the happiest I have been in my life. I have never felt so at peace, sleeping with no course to worry about. I looked at my wedding dress, and it was breathtaking, I ran my hand through it and it was a masterpiece, with delicate lace and silk, adorned with shimmering beads and sequins. I smiled as I took it from the hanger and wore it. Slowly slipping into the wedding dress, I felt an indescribable sensation. Every delicate stitch seemed to weave love and happiness into the fabric. As I stood before the mirror, I gasped in awe at the vision it reflected. My eyes shimmered with tears of overwhelming joy as I finally realized my dream of being a bride. I stepped out of the room when I was pleased with the way I looked and met beta Carl outside, he had promised to walk me down the aisle and I have never felt so glad. Beta Carl stretched his hand and I slowly placed m

Athena’s POVI watched as Lucas gulped for air while struggling to stay alive, he died and Andrea screamed and ran over to his dead body. She tried to carry him, but she had no power as she cried profusely. “Lucas! Lucas wake up!” she screamed and the kind part of me felt bad while watching her cry, but I suddenly remembered how she laughed devilishly as they killed Emily, every ounce of pity I felt for her left immediately and I scowled. “Are you ready to give up now or not?” Alpha Daniel asked a land, and Andrea shot him an angry look.“I would rather avenge my brother! Avenge my mother who died pitifully in the wilderness, avenge my father who was killed and reaped his title!” Andrea screamed and she stood up, trying to attack Alpha Daniel. I move closer to her and yank her hair, pulling her down, “don’t you think it’s time for you to give up? It’s time you stop everything you are doing and reflect on yourself?” I said, and she elongated her claws, trying to tear my face like I

Athena’s POV I was about to lunge at Andrea after snarling when I heard a screeching yell that caused me to tilt my head immediately. I discovered it was Donald who produced that sound, and I attempted to control my heavy breathing as I stared at him. Elder Ryker was able to escape Alpha Daniel's strike when I noticed him, and his eyes widened in amazement as he saw his son, his body went pale quickly, and I smirked, it seemed what Donald said was true. He must have assumed his son was dead. "You…you are alive?"Elder Ryker pushed himself to say, and his son frowned at him. “You must have thought I got burnt in that car, I escaped and here I am, it’s nice to see you again Father!” Donald said as I stepped closer to them after he mentioned the crest. “What’s going on here?!” a man who I didn’t recognize asked but looking at his attire he seemed to be the chief commander of their pack. “My father, Elder Ryker is responsible for killing the old alpha, Luna Evelyn’s father, for h

Daniel's POV The night was quiet, and I sighed as I looked up at the sky; I had been outside for a while now, trying to clear my mind of the many things that were racing through it. This week, Beta Carl has been quite active and helpful in attempting to get everything in order. I wandered farther into the garden, admiring the gorgeous flowers and attempting to forget about everything going on around me. I sighed and decided it was time to return inside and meet Athena; I've grown so attached to her that I can only sleep better in her arms. I was headed towards the pack building when I heard a bomb detonate. The ground trembled, and I staggered; I tilted my head to see what was going on; I strained my ear and heard the cry of war approaching. My eyes opened in surprise; I hadn't anticipated being attacked. "There is a war approaching, everyone should get ready for a battle," I yelled to the pack members over the mind link as I dashed toward the pack house. I ran up the stai

Andrea’s POV When I saw the crest in Athena's hand, the blood on my face drained and I turned pale. The same crest that Alpha Gideon and I have worked so hard to obtain is now sitting on Athena's hand. I always assumed the crest was something tangible, not realizing that was not the case. When alpha Daniel and Athena exited the courtroom, I tried to rise but my body felt weak as I reflected on everything I had gone through to reach where I am now. I finally pulled myself up and began walking to my room; I can't let Athena and Alpha Daniel gain control of the army; I've sacrificed so much for this, and I'm not going to let it go easily. I slumped on my bed and I entered my room. * I couldn't sleep all night because I was tossing and turning in my bed, and the only time I tried to sleep, I had a terrifying dream about Athena killing me. At the first roasting crow, I got out of bed and decided to take a bath. I finished bathing and dressed in all black because I was still grie

Daniel’s POV Fear gripped me right away. I couldn't trust anyone, let alone a stranger when Athena spoke to me over the pack's mind link. As a result, I was instantly bothered. "What's the matter with you? You went quiet?" Alpha Andrew inquired, and I sighed. "Athena just spoke to me through the mind link; she said a man approached her and asked to speak to her and me," I replied, and they both narrowed their eyes. "Who is that man?"Alpha Andrew inquired. "She doesn't know him," I said. “I think it’s best if we go over and meet her immediately, we can’t be too sure of anything, you know” Beta Carl stated "He is right, we should go meet her right away," Alpha Andrew stated as we all stood up. We walked out of the house and encountered Athena, who was standing beside her with a man whose face I had never seen before. I was taken aback when he referenced the war and claimed to be Elder Ryker's son. I moved in closer to him. "Do you know the gravity of punishment you will re

Athena’s POV The car stopped in front of the pack building, and we both got out. We went inside, and I noticed Alpha Andrew and Edna, who seemed anxious when they saw us, and they approached us. "How did it go?"Alpha Andrew inquired hurriedly. “Exactly like I had thought, Andrea and an elder were blatantly refusing what I had said, but the rest wanted to comply” Alpha Daniel answered. "That elder must be gaining something from whatever is going on," Alpha Andrew responded. “Of course, it’s obvious but it’s not a problem to me, I am going to put them in their places like I have always done” Alpha Daniel answered. "I believe you, you should rest because you appear tired and Athena too,” Alpha Andrew said, and I nodded at what he said. “Yes, we will do that” Alpha Daniel replied, and we walked away from them. I went back to my room and sighed lying on the bed, I heard a knock on the door before the door was pushed open, Miriam came in with Evan, and my face broke into a smi

Daniel’s POV “The crest?” Elder Ryker asked and I smirked. He must have thought he was smart, but he wasn’t smart enough. Murmurs erupted in the hall as people were busy saying different things, no one had seen the crest for long, and it would be surprising if they saw it. “As I had said, Evelyn talked to us regarding everything that had happened in the pack, she told us Alpha Gideon wasn’t her real mate, he bewitched her to believe he was, just to get the alpha title when he finally succeeded, he killed her father and poisoned her every day after locking her up and lied to the world she was dead, he poisoned her and tortured her just to have his hands on the crest because that was the only way he would have full control over the pack’s army,” I said and the murmurs increased. My gaze was drawn to Andrea and Lucas, who were shivering. They appeared afraid, and I chuckled; I would give anything to see them look that way every day. "How sure are we that you're telling the truth? Sho

Athena’s POV I sighed as I looked out my window. I wasn't mentally prepared for the journey ahead of us; Alpha Daniel had sent a letter to Andrea, alerting her of our presence in the pack. The door swung open, and I turned to see Alpha Daniel enter the room. When he saw me, his face burst into a smile, and I swallowed when I noticed the black shirt he was wearing; Alpha Daniel looks nice in anything, but he always looks hot in this specific shirt. "Are you trying to seduce me?"I inquired, and he chuckled as he moved closer to me, wrapping his hands around my waist. I exhaled, resting on him. “I don’t mind seducing you over and over again if that makes you give me another child” Alpha Daniel replied and I chuckled. “You talk about babies too much, don’t you think?” I raise my brows at him. “I want a baby from you Athena, I want to see every stage of pregnancy in you” he murmured and slowly kissed my ear, I closed my eyes and wrapped my hand around his neck.
