Daniel’s POV

I didn't expect the war to last so long; I underestimated the pack, but I am not someone you should mess with; I will trample on you and make you wish you had never thought of irritating me.

“We're almost at the Dark Wand Pack,” Beta Carl said, and my heart raced. I'd missed Athena so much that I'd spent several nights dreaming of her and our child, always seeming to have her in my embrace and playing with my son, only to wake up to reality the next morning, the aftermath of the dream leaving my heart, aching and yearning for my mate.

I see the love I would have had if Athena was still with me, and it hurts even more that I was the one who destroyed the lovely life I would have had.

We were standing in front of the Dark Wand pack's massive wall when the gate suddenly opened, and I saw Andrew, my step-brother, approaching me; I hadn't seen him in years, and he hadn't changed. He had to have known we were coming.

“Stepbrother!” I scoffed, his angry eyes mirroring mine; nei

Daniel’s POVAndrew brought me to the dungeon where those men were being held. I spotted the two men naked in the cell and snarled at them; as soon as they saw me and Andrew, they collapsed to the floor.“Are they the ones you caught with Athena?”I inquired.“Yes!” Andrew responded, and I nodded, returning my focus to them. “What happened between you and Athena, and how come you laid naked next to her?”I inquired, and they looked at each other, refusing to speak, and I snarled, hitting my fist on the cell, and they fled back, their eyes widening in dread, and I darted my eyeballs around them. “Please open this cell! They need to be tortured, and maybe they'll talk by then,” I remarked, as one of the guards swiftly entered the cell, shackled their hands behind their backs, and led them to the torturing chamber. They dropped to the floor, and I looked at them with rage in my eyes, barely restraining my wolf, who was on the surface attempting to take command. I saw the fire kindled in

Andrew’s POV“Alpha Andrew! Are you going to abandon me here? You pledge to always protect me, yet you abandon me in the dungeon!” Edna yelled, and I came to a halt, angrily brushed my hands, and walked back to meet her. “You should be grateful, you should be grateful that I did not kill you after what you did,” I remarked, and she snorted.“You don't care about her! You're only this way because of your stepbrother!” Edna shouted, and I put my hand inside the jail, clutching her garments. As I drew her closer, she hit her face on the rods that held her in place. “Don't tempt me, Edna, you should not tempt what I can do, I can kill you with a snap of my fingers,” I said dangerously, my finger elongating, her mouth immediately shut, and I saw fear lingering in her eyes, I let go of her clothes and she fell on the floor, she raised her head to look at me and her eyes brimmed with tears. I moved away without feeling sorry for her, wiping my hands on the handkerchief I was carrying, whe

Athena’s POVI groaned as I clutched my palm on my head and felt a severe headache pass through my skull. I yawned as I gently opened my eyes.I looked around the room and realized it was unfamiliar to me, my eyes widened in awareness that I might have been kidnapped, I attempted getting up quickly but fell on the bed groaning, I grabbed my head once again attempting to soothe the agony I felt“Easy lady,” a strange voice muttered, and I quickly darted my gaze to my side, where I noticed a man standing with a cup of coffee in his hand, a small spoon in his right hand, and stirring the contents of the coffee cup.“How do you feel now that you're up?” he inquired, and I closed my eyes groaning; the last thing I recalled was rushing with my kids within the forest, and I blacked out when I was struck by a large piece of wood.“What am I doing? What happened to my children? What is your name? How did I end up here?” I inquired, and he chuckled. “A question at a time,” he taunted, continui

Athena’s POVWe exited my room, and Alpha Lucas took me to the one where my children were. As soon as I saw them, my eyes welled up with tears and I hurried to meet them. "Are they okay?"I inquired, my eyes welling up with tears. "They're fine; they're just sleeping right now and will wake up soon."Alpha Lucas spoke up, and I nodded."All right, thank you so much for your hospitality; you could have left us to die in the woods," I said, and he smiled warmly at me. We discreetly exited the room so as not to disturb the children. As we walked outdoors, I noticed numerous camp houses all over the place. I was stunned and slowly tilted my head to look at Alpha Lucas"We are a group of rogues who have formed our own pack; I am their leader and alpha, and I make sure to provide for and cater to them."Alpha Lucas spoke out, and I nodded. I was perplexed as to how I had ended up among rogues."How did you find me?"I inquired, and Alpha Lucas began walking slowly, and I followed him. "We wa

Edna’s POV I was busy pacing about in my room, I was happy that Athena was caught and everything went according to my plan. Andrew has grown to fall in love with Athena, and that wasn’t what we agreed on initially when I found out Athena was living in the pack when I was away. I wasn’t just chosen to be Alpha Andrew’s mate, I have helped him grow this pack, and I was there for him through thick and thin, and it was only reasonable that we end up together to strengthen the pack and its borders. I traveled to several packs to get business done, to do things that will bring more earnings to the pack and strengthen the power of Alpha Andrew only to help him avenge against his brother who has taken his rights Andrew approached me one of the nights and told me about how Athena was his step-brother’s mate, and he wanted to use Athena against his brother, he had pleaded with me to let him do everything he wanted to do, and he will come back to, which I foolishly accepted the condition.

Athena’s POVThe sun rose early in the morning. I yawned and turned to the opposite side of the blanket I was resting on as a ray of sun hit the room. I fluttered my eyes open and lay on my back; there was no leisurely rotation of the fan for me to gaze at, so I quickly stood up and checked on my children.I grumbled and was ready to stand up when I heard a tap on the camp tent I was sleeping in. I groaned and stood up. When I opened the tent, Grace was standing there.Grace has been the kindest person I have encountered in the pack so far; she loves children and always takes her time to care for my kids. She had a broad smile plastered on her face. "Good morning, Grace," I said."Good morning, Athena, and how are the kids?" She inquired, peering around my back to see the kids, and I pulled away, allowing her to enter the tent."They're still sleeping," I chuckled."They look so beautiful in their sleep," she added, and I smiled at my kids.I've been living in the camp for three weeks

Athena’s POV I left the woods together with Alpha Lucas and the two guards. We returned to the camp home and saw a group of people gathered. I increased my steps towards them, and I saw three men laying on the floor, and they were bleeding badly. My heart skipped a beat because I haven’t witnessed such brutal injuries. They were gulping and trying to hold onto their lives. My hands started shaking, and I moved closer to them.I bent down on the floor immediately and tore their clothes away. I looked at the wound and it looked bad. I winced at the pain they might be going through and turned to look at the people surrounding me. "I need a bowl of water and as many towels available?" I screamed, and I saw three ladies scurry away.A few minutes later they came back with three bowls of water and a lot of towels that I couldn’t count. I took one of the towels and dipped it into the water. I soaked it with water and squeezed the content away from it. I used it to clean one of the injured

I was strolling through the pack when I saw Athena; she was busy teaching some of her students how to mix herbs. I halted my steps and smiled when I saw them. She is radiantly beautiful wherever she is, and everything looks perfect on her. She suddenly tilted her head and saw me. She stopped what she was doing and bowed her head. My legs started moving towards her on their own accord."Alpha Lucas," she said. The moment I was close to her, I smiled, and every other person around her bowed their heads to acknowledge me."You must be very busy; I shouldn’t disturb you," I said, and she chuckled."No, I am not; I was almost rounding up," she said, and I nodded at her. Athena’s POV It’s been a month since the death of Andrea and Lucas, and it still felt unreal, this past month has been the happiest I have been in my life. I have never felt so at peace, sleeping with no course to worry about. I looked at my wedding dress, and it was breathtaking, I ran my hand through it and it was a masterpiece, with delicate lace and silk, adorned with shimmering beads and sequins. I smiled as I took it from the hanger and wore it. Slowly slipping into the wedding dress, I felt an indescribable sensation. Every delicate stitch seemed to weave love and happiness into the fabric. As I stood before the mirror, I gasped in awe at the vision it reflected. My eyes shimmered with tears of overwhelming joy as I finally realized my dream of being a bride. I stepped out of the room when I was pleased with the way I looked and met beta Carl outside, he had promised to walk me down the aisle and I have never felt so glad. Beta Carl stretched his hand and I slowly placed m

Lucas wake up!” she screamed and the kind part of me felt bad while watching her cry, but I suddenly remembered how she laughed devilishly as they killed Emily, every ounce of pity I felt for her left immediately and I scowled. “Are you ready to give up now or not?” Alpha Daniel asked a land, and Andrea shot him an angry look.“I would rather avenge my brother! Avenge my mother who died pitifully in the wilderness, avenge my father who was killed and reaped his title!” Andrea screamed and she stood up, trying to attack Alpha Daniel. I move closer to her and yank her hair, pulling her down, “don’t you think it’s time for you to give up? It’s time you stop everything you are doing and reflect on yourself?” I said, and she elongated her claws, trying to tear my face like I

Athena’s POV I was about to lunge at Andrea after snarling when I heard a screeching yell that caused me to tilt my head immediately. I discovered it was Donald who produced that sound, and I attempted to control my heavy breathing as I stared at him. Elder Ryker was able to escape Alpha Daniel's strike when I noticed him, and his eyes widened in amazement as he saw his son, his body went pale quickly, and I smirked, it seemed what Donald said was true. He must have assumed his son was dead. "You…you are alive?"Elder Ryker pushed himself to say, and his son frowned at him. “You must have thought I got burnt in that car, I escaped and here I am, it’s nice to see you again Father!” Donald said as I stepped closer to them after he mentioned the crest. “What’s going on here?!” a man who I didn’t recognize asked but looking at his attire he seemed to be the chief commander of their pack. “My father, Elder Ryker is responsible for killing the old alpha, Luna Evelyn’s father, for h

Daniel's POV The night was quiet, and I sighed as I looked up at the sky; I had been outside for a while now, trying to clear my mind of the many things that were racing through it. This week, Beta Carl has been quite active and helpful in attempting to get everything in order. I wandered farther into the garden, admiring the gorgeous flowers and attempting to forget about everything going on around me. I sighed and decided it was time to return inside and meet Athena; I've grown so attached to her that I can only sleep better in her arms. I was headed towards the pack building when I heard a bomb detonate. The ground trembled, and I staggered; I tilted my head to see what was going on; I strained my ear and heard the cry of war approaching. My eyes opened in surprise; I hadn't anticipated being attacked. "There is a war approaching, everyone should get ready for a battle," I yelled to the pack members over the mind link as I dashed toward the pack house. I ran up the stai

Andrea’s POV When I saw the crest in Athena's hand, the blood on my face drained and I turned pale. The same crest that Alpha Gideon and I have worked so hard to obtain is now sitting on Athena's hand. I always assumed the crest was something tangible, not realizing that was not the case. When alpha Daniel and Athena exited the courtroom, I tried to rise but my body felt weak as I reflected on everything I had gone through to reach where I am now. I finally pulled myself up and began walking to my room; I can't let Athena and Alpha Daniel gain control of the army; I've sacrificed so much for this, and I'm not going to let it go easily. I slumped on my bed and I entered my room. * I couldn't sleep all night because I was tossing and turning in my bed, and the only time I tried to sleep, I had a terrifying dream about Athena killing me. At the first roasting crow, I got out of bed and decided to take a bath. I finished bathing and dressed in all black because I was still grie

Daniel’s POV Fear gripped me right away. I couldn't trust anyone, let alone a stranger when Athena spoke to me over the pack's mind link. As a result, I was instantly bothered. "What's the matter with you? You went quiet?" Alpha Andrew inquired, and I sighed. "Athena just spoke to me through the mind link; she said a man approached her and asked to speak to her and me," I replied, and they both narrowed their eyes. "Who is that man?"Alpha Andrew inquired. "She doesn't know him," I said. “I think it’s best if we go over and meet her immediately, we can’t be too sure of anything, you know” Beta Carl stated "He is right, we should go meet her right away," Alpha Andrew stated as we all stood up. We walked out of the house and encountered Athena, who was standing beside her with a man whose face I had never seen before. I was taken aback when he referenced the war and claimed to be Elder Ryker's son. I moved in closer to him. "Do you know the gravity of punishment you will re

Athena’s POV The car stopped in front of the pack building, and we both got out. We went inside, and I noticed Alpha Andrew and Edna, who seemed anxious when they saw us, and they approached us. "How did it go?"Alpha Andrew inquired hurriedly. “Exactly like I had thought, Andrea and an elder were blatantly refusing what I had said, but the rest wanted to comply” Alpha Daniel answered. "That elder must be gaining something from whatever is going on," Alpha Andrew responded. “Of course, it’s obvious but it’s not a problem to me, I am going to put them in their places like I have always done” Alpha Daniel answered. "I believe you, you should rest because you appear tired and Athena too,” Alpha Andrew said, and I nodded at what he said. “Yes, we will do that” Alpha Daniel replied, and we walked away from them. I went back to my room and sighed lying on the bed, I heard a knock on the door before the door was pushed open, Miriam came in with Evan, and my face broke into a smi

Daniel’s POV “The crest?” Elder Ryker asked and I smirked. He must have thought he was smart, but he wasn’t smart enough. Murmurs erupted in the hall as people were busy saying different things, no one had seen the crest for long, and it would be surprising if they saw it. “As I had said, Evelyn talked to us regarding everything that had happened in the pack, she told us Alpha Gideon wasn’t her real mate, he bewitched her to believe he was, just to get the alpha title when he finally succeeded, he killed her father and poisoned her every day after locking her up and lied to the world she was dead, he poisoned her and tortured her just to have his hands on the crest because that was the only way he would have full control over the pack’s army,” I said and the murmurs increased. My gaze was drawn to Andrea and Lucas, who were shivering. They appeared afraid, and I chuckled; I would give anything to see them look that way every day. "How sure are we that you're telling the truth? Sho

Athena’s POV I sighed as I looked out my window. I wasn't mentally prepared for the journey ahead of us; Alpha Daniel had sent a letter to Andrea, alerting her of our presence in the pack. The door swung open, and I turned to see Alpha Daniel enter the room. When he saw me, his face burst into a smile, and I swallowed when I noticed the black shirt he was wearing; Alpha Daniel looks nice in anything, but he always looks hot in this specific shirt. "Are you trying to seduce me?"I inquired, and he chuckled as he moved closer to me, wrapping his hands around my waist. I exhaled, resting on him. “I don’t mind seducing you over and over again if that makes you give me another child” Alpha Daniel replied and I chuckled. “You talk about babies too much, don’t you think?” I raise my brows at him. “I want a baby from you Athena, I want to see every stage of pregnancy in you” he murmured and slowly kissed my ear, I closed my eyes and wrapped my hand around his neck.
