The unexpected request

Jane’s POV

Seeing her stand before me and request to be friends with me was something I had not expected to hear when I woke up this morning.

I didn’t want to go through what we had done in the past. I wanted this time to be different and I was trying my best to stay out of her way.

Instead of her doing the same, she was trying to get in my way by using the guise of being friends with me. I was not having that so I turned her down.

“I know I’ve been a total mess in the past but you have to understand that I was not happy seeing you around Sinclair,” she explained. “He was my alpha and my mate before he brought you into his life. Now I have to deal with you and it hurts. But I’ve come to a conclusion that maybe I might have overreacted a bit.”

“Maybe?” I raised a brow. “You tried to have me killed multiple times, how is that a maybe?”

“You’re still alive, you don’t need to overreact.”

I pulled Gail in as I proceeded to bang the door on her face as she held it open before it could close
