Of all the times I had been shocked in my life, this has to be the one taking the cake. Who had sent them to help?

Why were they here?

I looked at each of them individually, wondering if there was any reason to trust them with how everything had been going from the time we got into the pack till now.

They didn’t look much like warriors, but I had learned over the years that those people who were not seen as warriors could be the most dangerous creatures ever encountered.

“Please, you shouldn’t fret,” the woman who was the leader smiled at me. To show that she wasn’t a threat, she dropped her box of tools on the ground and took a step forward until she was in my face. “See?”

I could swear that she was flirting with me but my days to be with anyone was over. I had a coven to run and she had… whatever she had to do.

“I’m here to help you,” she repeated. Her smile getting me to chuckle. “Is something funny?”

“Yes,” I smiled back. “Yes, I find you and your little bandwagon to be fun
