Chapter 6

Rinaiane’s POV

I opened my eyes and found myself in the middle of night standing in the very dark forest with tall trees around me. It’s very dark here that no matter how I tried looking around trying to looke for something or...someone? I don’t know but I can’t find any. I can’t tell how many minutes or hours I stand there but I can’t seem tonput my thoughts together so I just stand there, doing nothing.

I tried to call out but I can’t speak or rather there’s no voice that comes out from my mouth. I tried to shout but nothing. Then suddenly, I heard a noise behind me. I turned around but all I can see is darkness. I don’t how but it feels like my senses are becoming more sensitive as seconds go by and I felt a tingling sensation all over my body. For a minute, a complete silence enveloped the entire place until the sound of a footstep broke the silence. Then a figure came out from the darkness.

My body unconciously positioned into a defense position with my body straight, my hands are opened upwards and my eyes are focused on the figure. He stopped just a few meters away from me and that’s when i realized that this man is the same man I saw in the mall. 

“Hello, priestess.”

His voice sent shivers all over my body. His voice is deep and cold, though I can’t see his face I can feel his smirk while straigy looking at me in the eyes. Priestess. I have no idea why he keeps on calling me priestess. What’s wrong him? 

”Who are you?”

He laughed. 

“You guess.”

I’m about to answer him back when I heard footsteps coning towards our location and I hear it all around the place that I can’t determine how many people are coming. It just took a minute to find myself surrounded by hundreds or maybe thousands of mysterious people and I’m sure that they are here under thecommand of a single person. Te guy in front of me.

”What do you need?”

”You’re different out there and you’re different in here. Do you know why?”

”Why?”

Instead of answering me, he laughed again the. signalled someone to come at me. Then more than 10 people moved synchronously towards me. Then my body reacted immediately by swirling both my hands overhead then I can feel some energy building on my hand and when I felt that it was enough, I threw it around me and knocked all the attackers down.  I can still see traces of the white light or energy of sort that knocked them down that made me question myself but it was cut off when another set of attackers moved forward. Then I turned further away from them then moved my hands downward and a sword was formed. I had no chance to even have a glimpse of it for I used the sword to block the attack toward. I gathered my strength and pushed them away and I floated up in the air while spinning and landed with my leftknee on the ground while my right  knee is facing forward. My right hand still holding the sword and the other one has the same position as my other hand, pointing sidewards. I saw the attackers lying unconcious on the ground. I stood up and faced the man when he clapped his hands, sarcastically. 

“What a good performance from someone who isn’t trained since a kid. I’m impressed.” He said and slowly moved towards me while I started to moved backwards.”No wonder that you are the only hybrid that is willing to be accepted by the other empires.”

Hybrid? Empires? What is he talking about? He’s been talking to me like we are in a fantasy world full of fantasized characters. In a blonk of an eye, he suddenly attacked me but I fortunately was able to dodge and got away from him in time. 

“I have to kill you right here, right now.”

He continued then black balls of gases came out from his hands and threw them all at once in my direction. With a snap of my fingers, an arrow and bow appeared on my hand so without hesitation, I started using it to hit the balls of gases. But it seems like he’sjot done yet when huge rocks are flying towards me and everytime my arrow hits it, chunks of rocks hit my body leadingt o wounds and swellings but I heed it no attrmtion and continue on hitting. Then a gigantic rock is coming to me, I immediately used three arrows to hit it but when it broke into smaller sizes, the man came out of nowhere and attacked me me his shard claws. I tried to dodge hime but I was scratched on my back that caused me to fall. to the ground.

I shouted with pain that I almost list all my voice from it. I held my breath to numb the pain a bit but it was of no use. I crawled away when someone turned me over and I shouted again when my wounds hit the small pieces of the rocks made contact witgh it.

”I’m impressed that you’ve survive this far but I might say, your trainless years are now showing off. You may have the most powerful ability in this world but you have no idea what you’re getting into.” He said as his sharp claw is carrasing my face while I’m lying underneath him, cathcing my breathe while enduring the pain from my wounds. “Now is the right time to end this. and of course, before you leave, I wanted to introduce myself to you.”

He said and smiled annoyingly. I glared at him while trying to avoid his claws but he held my face firmly.

”N-no n-e—-“ 

Before I could finish what I’m saying, blood came out from my mouth and I’m starting to feel the numbing of my whole body.

”Shh priestess, shhh...” He said and carrased my hair gently like he’s comforting me. And all I can do is glare at him. “Don’t waste your remaining energy anymore, I just wanted to inteoduce myself before you’ll be gone...forever.”

Gone? Is it really the end for me? What about my family? Lili? My old life? 

“Parris.” he said. “Remember it, our priestess.”

I can feel his sharp claws dug my skin and I can see his fangs are starting to show and ready to bite me off. Tears are slowly streaming down my face and that’s all I can do because i can’t feelmg body anymore. It’s like my whole being just accepted the face that i will be gone forever without even answering my questions. I’m starting to lose concuousness and before I could close my eyes, I saw another figure behind Parris with its’s claws ready to attack, the fangs are showing and his golden eye.Then I utter my last words.

”Sanguinex.”
