Chapter 3

Lili’s POV

”And guess what? he suddenly fell face first!” I said laughing while peeling my buttered shrimp. After a while, I noticed that Nana, isn’t responding to me so I looked at her and saw her watching something from outside the cafe. She looks shocked and afraid, she’s sweating bullets and she’s turning pale and her hands are visibly shaking. 

“Hey, nana.” I said and snap in front of her to distract her but nothing changed in her expression so I followed where she’s looking and found nothing strange or suspicious that can make her react like that.

I looked back at her and was shock to see her with an expressionless face but what really scared me to death is that her eyes are glowingans she’s mumbling something that i can’t hear nor understand. I panicked at her situation and was about to touch her when she suddenly closed her eyes. I thought she fainted so I tried to call for help but when i look back, everything and everyone are frozen in places.

Sanguinem tuum

Ut lenire sanguinem sitim”

As she chanted those words, the place became ice cold and everything seems turning. 

“Nana!” 

I’m trying to bring her back by calling her name but nothing. I called her many times but she’s not reacting to any of it. It left me with no choice but to do this.

Rinaiane’s POV

”Hey!” I was awoken by a snapping fingers in front of me. I look ath the fingers’ owner and found Lili sitting across me with her mouth full of food while stiil holding a peeled buttered shrimp.

I couldn’t react for a few minutes and when my sense came back, I snapped my eyes back to where the strange man was standing a while ago but he’s gone. Who is he? Why does he dress like that? Who is priestess? 

“Hey, Nana!” Lili called again and I looked at her worried face. “Everything’s alright? You seem bothered and scared. What’s happening to you? Are you sick?” 

“Nithing. I...” I’m trying to find some more reasons. I noticed the change of expression in lili’s face.

’Think, Rinaiane, think!’

”Do you have a diarrhea?” she asked that somehow calms me down despite her question.

”No, I think i just ate too much spicy ramen, you know that I can’t eat too much spicy food.” I reasoned out. She seems to accept my reason or lie.

”Oh yeah... Gosh, I forgot about that. Is your allergy’s showing now?” she asked again while scanning my whole face if there’s a red spots or any signs of allergy reaction.

”No, but it seems like my stomach can’t take it anymore.” I lied.

”That’s fine but are you full kow? Or do you want to eat something else?”

”Nah. I’m good.”

”Okay, I’ll just finish this quickly and we’ll go.” she said then without a second, devoured her remaining foods. 

After she was done we went to the comfort room for a quick visit. We decided to groom ourselves again before heading out. We directly went to the bookstore where we bought some of our needed materials in our plates since we are given 5 plates to do and its just for one aubject, so we’re expecting to have more in the following days.

We wanted to visit a store here just to lookfor something to buy but we decided not to because we still have our class and we don’t want to spend our allowance to unnecessary things, so we just bought what we needed then headed back to the campus.

The trip just took 30 minutes from the mall to the canpus so we still have time to go to our next class. We arrived then took our seats in the front row and since we still have time, some of the students gathered around us to take a picture, to ask for autographs , in which I didn’t do cause I don’t want my signature to be fabricated, and some of them just came to say hi. 

“Good afternoon, Queen!” a girl said as she passed  by me.

”Good afternoon.” I awkwardly replied because she really emphasized the word “Queen” in which I don’t understand why she’s calling me that.

”Good afternoon, Rinaiane. And congratulations for being the campus beauty.” Shiela said, our department’s student organization president.

”Ahhh thanks?” I replied in a questioning manner that made her giggle.  I thought this would be the end but I was wrong, completely wrong.

Sammy, Shiela’s bestfriend the vice president, came with her bright smile. Wearing her knee length summer dress paired with a pastel colored shoes. She’s hopping cheerily while making her way to me and ignoring Shiela.

”Tsk..” 

I looked at Shiela and saw her face that says ‘here we go again’ that had me giggled. 

“Rianaineeee!” Sammy yelled. I awkardly smiled at her. The whole class was surprised when she slammed both of her hands on my table then she started her “speech”.

”Today is the day. The Department of Architecture has been waiting for this day to come.” she dreamily said. I can hear the students are trying to stop theirselves from laughing.

It was very awkward for me so I looked over to Lili with questioning eyes but she also did the smae and mumbled.

”What’s wrong with her?”

”I don’t know.” I said and shrugged my shoulders.

(Here comes the ever dramatic Sammy)

(Here she goes again)

(This will be entertaining)

These are just some of the students thoughts that I can hear as they attentatively listened to sammy’s dramatic speech.

“After many years, the title Campus Beauty has finally captured by one of us as she captures the eyes, the mind and heart of the everyone. Today, let’s give cheers to Miss Perfect,” she continued. She then looked at me with admiration. “Miss...Rinaiane Salvador!”

Cheers and loud clappings filled the entire space after she introduced me. Ilooked at the other students while awkwardly smiling. Then Sammy grabbed both of hands and made me stoood up and face tye entire class while some of them are cheering, clapping theirs hands and laughing. 

I looked at Lili to ask for help but i saw her cheering with the others but I can clearly see that she’s trying her best not to burst in laughter. Our eyes met then she playfullu winked at me that earned her a glare from me.

”This is so funny!”

”Look at Sammy’s proud face HAHAHA”

”I bet this is so awkward to Rinaiane”

Yes, this very awkward and embarrassing!

Sammy signalled everyone go be silent, in which they did, and continued. She gently turned me around to face her.

”Thank you. Thank you for bring honor to our department.” she said with her teary-eyes. “You don’t know how proud I am of you and your achievements. This will be recorded in the history of  our department.” 

She got me off guard when she suddenly hugged me while she’s crying. Like there’s literally tears from her eyes and since she’s shorter than me, her wet face is buried on my upper chest and I can feel my shirt is getting wet from her eyes. So I awkwardly tapped her shoulder to comfort her when someone dragged her away from me. I looked at Shiela while thank her in my mind. After dragging Sammy away,  I sat back and glared at Lili, who’s still trying to stop herself from laughing. I rolled my eyes at her, pissed. 

Shivers went in my body when i recalled just what happened earlier. So I took my notes out and tried scanning them just to push the embarrassing thoughts away. I can stiil hear subtle laughs from the class but I trued to ignore them. I focused back on my notes.

While focusing on my notes, I noticed the whole class became quiet for a second then gasps of astonishments filled the space. Then a a figure of a man stood in front hovering me. So slowly looked up and saw a gorgeous guys. As  I stare longer, I noticed how is shoulder-length black hair unexpectedly compliments his black thick brows, his gray eyes while intensely staring at me,  to his pointed nose down to his thin red lips. 

I heard him chuckled that brought my eyes to his. Gasps of admiration filled the space when  he chuckled, but not me. I was about to ask him a question when he said the words that confused the hell out of me.

”Found you.”
