Chapter 2

Rinaiane’s POV

”I expected everyone to pass your architectural plate before the midterm exams and again, I will not accept late submissions. Dismissed.”

As soon as we are dismissed, I immediately pack my things, getting ready to grab our lunch.

“Where are we going to eat lunch today?” I asked Lili as we slowly made our way out of the classroom. It’s already 12:30 and our second class for this morning just ended and now we’re heading out for lunch.

 We have a cafeteria here inside the campus but they’re probably packed right now and it will be harder to reserve seats so we decided to have lunch outside.

”Let’s try the newly opened Korean cafe in the mall. Then let’s just buy some of our requirements in the bookstore.” Lili suggested.

“Do we still have time for that? I mean, our next class is at 2:30 this afternoon.” 

“Yes, we still have time and we’re not going to be late, if that’s what you’re worried about.” 

“Fine.” I simply replied. “Let’s go, I’m starving” 

“Same”

We headed to the parking lot where Lili parked her car. We are nearing the parking lot when Rey and his friends blocked our way with their irritated faces. I bet he hasn’t moved on from his embarrassment during our math class. Well, after the math class, we immediately went to the next class heeding him no attention.

”Well, well we’re are the geniuses going to?” he asked while slowly walking towards us in a threatening pace but is tood my gorund and just stared at him, uninterested.

”Going out for lunch” I simply replied. I grab Lili’s arms abd trying to escape the situation when one of his friends blocked his hands on our way. 

Maybe its because its noon and I’m starving that my patience is running thin. I deeply sighed before facing him a fake smile.

”We’re starving right now and we still have things to do after lunch, so can you please let us go?” I pleaded but inside, i just wanna punch him in the face.

He said in this mind. Now I’m on the brink of punching him when Lili intervened.

”I just texted my dad, and he’s about to call you in his office in...” Lili said in suspense, “3...2...1...”

As soon as she said one, Rey’s phone rang. He checked his phone and was surprised to see the message that he received. Before I forgot, Lili’s dad, Uncle Ernest, is the chairman of theDepartment of Architecture, our department.

”Now, you’re using your connections just to make put me in a bad record?” Rey said in disbelief.

I know he’s acting so tough and unbothered but i can read his and his friends’ thoughts right now and I can say that they’re really in trouble if they have another bad record. Well, good luck to them.

We didn’t bother to answer him went to Lili’s car and drive away. When we’re finally on the road, I heard her irritated sigh.

”That guys just can’t learn his lesson. It’s been two  years since you rejected him and he hasn’t moved on yet.” she angrily said. I just sighed and looked outside the window. 

(That jerk, I’m going to roast him up next time he do this. I’m going to shave his head bald, punch him straight to his face and cut his pe-)

”Stop it” I unconsciously said that made her stop.

”What? I didn’t say anything.” she said that shocked me. Oh, shoot! I forgot. “What are you talking about, Na?”I composed  myself before answering her. I looked at her and saw her creased forehead while her eyes are unstable and bothered.

”I mean, stop speeding too much, I know you’re starving too but we might run into an accident if you keep this up.” I reasoned out, hoping she’s buying my lie.

”Oh,” she said then slowed down the speed of the car, “Sarry, okay? sarry..” 

I laughed at her imitation of a famous K-Drama line that she rewatched for a lot of times. Thanks to that, our mood was lifted and, although we’re starving, we enjoyed the ride. Minutes later we arrived at the mall, and as expected, we hurriedly made our way to the new Korean cafe here and have lunch.

Thankfully, since its’ already 1:00 in the afternoon, most costumers are heading out so we went to reserver our seat. We chose the seats in the corner of the shop that people can’t easily apot when entering the store so that ni one cant ecognize us, especially the students in our university. Not that I’m bragging, just stating facts here, most students in our university know and Lili because we are always the top 1 and 2 for the Dean’s Lister and we usually join inter-school competitions like journalism, debate, research and I’m also a chess varsity player in our university. So, yeah. Technically, studnets and faculties know me pretty well.

A waitress came to us and ask us our orders, in which Lili did the choosing of the food and I just went for it since we have almost the same taste. 

“Hey, I just found out that there’s a late enrollee in our department and I heard he’a hot.” she said and acted like she’s daydreaming. “Finally, a new face will appear and complete my hectic and boring college days.” 

Ilaughed at her remarks. She’salways beenhooked to handsome guys but mind you, she never flirted anyone and she’s still single from the moment she was born up until this very moment. As for me, I never really tried looking for a guy to be with. I’m not a manhater, I’m not just interested in them, in general.

”Where dis you find that information again? from your dad?”

”Nope. I found it out in the forum. You know those “Queen Bs” at school, they’re always spotting handsome guys, especially newbies and transferees, at school, post them to the forum and then flirted at them. That’s how their life works.” she said.

”Like...?” I teased. She has always been hating this one particular girl, who for some reason just started picking on Lili ever since we started college. And that is...

”Aya was, is and will be forever the most irritating  and my most hated living organism in this world.” she said with annoyance.

”Because...l I continued.

”She lied to my dad that me and Ryan was in a secret relationship and she even said that she saw us kissing in the men’s bathroom just so she could get back at me for reporting her cheating activities.” she stated without even breathing in between. I giggle while looking at her, now flushed face while pouting.

”And it was two years ago.” 

“Yeah, but she still keeps on picking on me. I just wanna shove her plastic face on the toilet bowl and drown her!”

”Lili...” 

I firmly stopped her. I don’t really like people who curse at other people. I just find it disturbing and unjust. When she noticed my change of mood, she became calm and conposed, realizing of what she just said in front of me.

”Sorry...” she quietly said.

”I told you to never do that. I know she wronged you but doesnt mean you have to curse her or revenger her. Always remember that kondness is the best revenge you can give to someone.” I lectured.

”Noted.” she said then pouts. I was about to talk when the waitress came back with our orders and without wasting any second, we started to eat and some talks. 

I was enjoying the food and our talk when I hear a voice. 

‘Priestess...’

I automatically looked around to find any suspicious person but nothing. Not until my eyes went to a figure of a man wearing a black coat that seems like it was from a magazine that feautures the Victorian style of clothing, his hat that covers half of his face only  showing the tip of his nose and his lips. But what caught me off-guard is his creepy smile that sent shivers to my whole body. Then he said the word...
