Afraid of the dark

When I woke up, my first sight was Adrian. He was looking at the ceiling while his hands played with my hair. When he saw me...we stared at each other..until I started feeling weird. like he was reading through me. I was so loss. But peaceful. Like something heavy left,

me... it was the best feeling even. But then his phone started ringing. That made us snap out of the moment. He picked the call. As it was on loud speaker. And it was Elsa

On phone

"Hello." Adrian said

"Adrian...are you ok?" Elsa asked and he furrowed his brows and said

"Yeahh..why did you ask. Is everything ok?"

"It's just all these days I've not been there. And I'm worried about you." she said

"Elsa. What is it you aren't telling me?" he asked

"Noth--nothing. just check--" she said but didn't complete her word when he spoke

"Elsa!"

"Ok fine... Danny told me you haven't been coming to work regularly. And he was asking me if everything is alright" she said and Adrian frowned saying

"Any. Where did you see him? Because you haven't been to work these days too. I have records."

"I..I... went to his apartment. Actually, mum sent me to give his dad something but he wasn't around...so I had to pass by Danny's place so, he can hand it to his dad." she muttered

"Okay. So, when are you coming to GIC?" he asked

"In three days to come" she said

"Alright..." the was a moment of awkward silence over the phone. When he said

"See you in GIC then"

"Yeah. Sure. Goodbye Adrian" she said nervously

"Goodbye. Take care" he said and kissed her through the phone before hanging up.

I just laid there awkwardly and said

"She seemed nervous. why did you behave like that" he looked at me blankly and said?

"Like what...?" I just gave him a knowing look as he narrowed his eyes at me as he intentionally let his feet touch mine. And I gasp. Then he said

"I'm. So sorry talk bird." like he didn't mean it. I hit his hand playfully as he started laughing. After which he said.

"Let's go watch a movie." I looked at him in disbelieve and said

"So... the " almighty" Adrian watches Tv too" he raised a brow and said

"Who do you really. See as?" I looked away and said

"A clown" he furrowed his brows and said

"Excuse me!?" I laughed 

"I'm kidding. Isn't it obvious? From the name I gave you. It tells how I see at you. Until now. That I realize you're

just normal in your own way and very cool too. That's so charming. I bet if any woman sees this sight of you. She'll die for you. But, then. You have a dark sight of you. That no one will want to stay with you if they find out. No one will tolerate being tormented by A d r I a n." 

I said and his gaze soften as he stared at me

"Can we go now?" I said and he said

"Sure." he stood up and lifted me up in his arms as we went to the living room. It's been long I watched Tv. He put on Netflix. As we watched Horror films. I love horror films. but if you off the lights now. Trust me, I'll be the first person to disappear.

Since I couldn't sit up right. Except, I'm in bed. He brought a pillow and placed on his laps as I laid my head on it. I could have put my feet there instead. But I didn't trust him with that. After what he did in the room.

The cook of the house brought us food. And we ate together, we teased each other and even argued on the film we watched. And during romantic stuffs, I either coughed awkwardly or brought up topics to pass time but immediately the scene is over. The conversation stops automatically. He seemed very calm with the scenes.

I even heard him giggling when I try avoiding those scenes. Places got dark and he offed the light.

"A d r I a n... put it back on!" I said and he smirked saying

"You watch horror films but fear the dark. Interesting.." he didn't turn it on as he came and sat down. I glared at him furiously. He knows I

can't do anything because of my feet.

We kept watching. And in the line, some scenes became so interesting that coursed me to get up from his laps and sat down unconsciously..forgetting my feet hurts. In the process, I sat on my leg as I screamed 

"A d rian!" he looked at me with concern and said

"How can you sit on your leg and, he first names you call is mine!" he just helped me lay down..and I ended up placing my legs on his lap. As he gave me a slow and soft massage. I've been avoiding to put my legs on his lap and here am I..

What you don't want, comes to you but what you want runs from you. What an ironic condition! This life is full of surprises.

We spend the past two days together. and it was the best time of my life. Adrian is really something. When you get to know him. 

On the third day..I could walk well. Because he took good care of my feet. I was still sleeping that morning with my chest against the bed and my back facing up...when Adrian came in and whispered in my ears.

"Wake up talk bird. The sun is up." I frowned in my sleep and said

"And so, am I supposed to photosynthesis!?...please Adrian let me sleep while the plants do their job!" he chuckled at my response as he moved his hands on my side rib and started twinkling me..I started laughing as I jumped and sat upright. He smirked and said

"Next time you give me such response. I'll tie you up while doing that." I looked at him furiously as he said again

"I know you hate me. you don't need to say it"

"I don't exactly hate you, but if you were on fire and I had water, I'd drink it." I said and he narrowed his eyes at me as I spoke again

"Now get out..I need air. And stop looking at me like an inspector!" he was dumfounded. Looking for words but to no avail. He just chuckled and left as I breath out a sigh of relief when he was out of my sight.
