It's been a minute. That I just fired Blaze. And

I and Billie are still on it.

we've been staring at each other for some time now

"You know what. Do whatever you want. You're the boss" she said breaking the silence

"Yeah. I am. And will always be. Billie" I said and she laughed sarcastically. for some time. After which she said

"No... not anymore."  I raised my brows

"Really! Soo... what are you going to do about it?" I said

"It's easy. No need to do anything about it. cause that's how you are. And that's what matters to you. You're just a proud for nothing young man. who doesn't value? His treasures. Just as you did to your previous secretary and Blaze. That's exactly what you're going to do to me anytime soon. So, instead of waiting for that to happen, let me get this over with. I'm fired!" she said and i chuckled saying

"You can't do that!?" 

"I just did" she said repeating the words i used on her and was about leaving when i asked

"You're leaving without taking your thing?" 

"Really! My things or yours? Because. If I can remember. I didn't take anything of mine along." she said and was leaving when I said

"You don't know what you're doing Billie. Lane is not the good man you think. And you feel that." she stopped and came closer to me

"You know what I feel?" she said looking deep in my eyes... I didn't move as she said again

"I feel sorry for you. And. this isn't about Lane. This is about you firing Blaze. How I'm

I even sure. You aren't forming stories!" I sigh heavily and said

"You know I am not forming any stories. You've leaved with me long enough to know that! Infact Lane is one of us. I'm sorry I couldn't explain to you about who my families are but. Trust me Billie." She shrugged as I said again

"And this isn't about Blaze we all know that! Yes, I fired him. I would have done it anyway. To anyone and you know that! This is about. Lane" 

"Oh. so finally, we're talking about this! Okay. So... what is it you're threatening lane about. And how come I don't know about that!?" she asked and I gave her a confused look at first not understanding what she meant

"Wait a minute...did you go to Lanes house along with Blaze?" I asked 

"Yeah of course. When I told you. I went with him. What did you think I was talking about?" she said and I ran my hands through my hair in frustration. She just kept giving me a weird look

"What's up with you Adrian?" she asked and I looked at her unbelievably

"What's up with me! You have no idea what you did by going there. No IDEA!" I said and she furrowed her brows

"All this is so confusing Adrian. I thought y'all were friends!?" she said 

"Yeah we are friends. But I don't get close to him for a long time now. We actually never had the chances but there's more to that! It's complicated Billie. All you need to know now is. he had an unfinished business to settle with me in the past about GIC. 

But..i did find out about who he really is just recently...and I do want to cut the tights for this business but. I can't. So, I have to accelerate it... but he keeps slowing the process." I said she blinked severally

"And who exactly is he?" she asked

"He's one of us but. I suspect something wrong. That's why I'm mad you went there. From who he is, our enemy can really track us down." I said

"I'll need time to really gather all of this information. but you'll first have to re-hire Blaze back." she said and I just nodded

"On one condition." I said and she said almost like a whisper

"What. Condition?" I came very close to her. Inches away and said

"Don't fire yourself." I touched her chick still looking in her eyes..I said again 

"Because. Your contract isn't complete" She closed her eyes because of how close we are and said in a whisper

"I don't think that was a condition. It's clear I have no choice. Adrian" On calling my name she opened her eyes and I let go of her cheek

"And concerning Lane..I want to find about him myself. Please" she said and I sigh saying

"Sure. If that's what you want." she gave me a knowing look and I said

"Not forgetting about Blaze. I'll reach out to him online. this night. Are you fine now?" she just nodded. We stared at each other for some time and she asked

almost like a whisper

"How did you know...?"  I frowned a little saying

"Know what?" 

"About Blaze helping me escape." she said and I stared deeply in her eyes searching something..I

don't know what exactly!

It made her weak..I could see it through her eyes and gestures. And she looked away saying

"I think I know how."

"Make sure you take your dinner. It's getting late. I'll be in my office if you need anything." I said and she looked back at me. And gave me a faint smile. I left afterwards.

I went and read the details of the file Blaze gave me and called Lane

On phone

"Hey man." Lane said

"Hey..I doubt you know why I calling" I said

"Why not. You're calling to settle the case...so, are we finally negotiating on this?" he said and I chuckled

"I was right then. You have no idea why I'm calling. Firstly, we aren't negotiating on anything. You know I

don't do that. 

And secondly, I didn't call to settle any case. the case was already settled when I sent Blaze to you. 

But it seemed to me. you want to start something new. 

But, then. The god you know now is not the same Adrian. You knew then. For your sake Lane. Let's do this natural. If not, you and I know where this will end" I said and he was silent for a while.

"Alright... Adrian. I'll redraw my case." he said nervously

"Now we're talking. Isn't this good? You say friends with differences. That was a good talk with Billie man. Do you really call this friendship!? Know that. Whatever it is you're up to with Billie..I got my eyes on you. Don't forget that." I said and hung up

After which I called Blaze and re-hired him like Billie said.

Like seriously if not for her..I

won't have called Blaze back on duty. He should really be lucky.
