Emily POV

When we got to Easton’s suite, I was amazed. The outside of the pack house was beautiful enough, and he pulled me up the stairs so quickly I couldn’t really take in anything. The furniture in his suite is gorgeous. I love the minimalistic feel, even though I can tell the furniture is not cheap. I truly cannot stand clutter, so the openness and cleanliness of the space is very calming.

He pulled me to the couch so we could call Hannah and Ryan. He put the phone on speaker, and Ryan answered rather quickly. When he mentioned Kate, I decided to tease him and ask where Hannah was. He obviously didn’t know he was on speaker.

It was strange hearing him address me as Luna when he apologized. I laughed his statement about my sister off, because she truly is a bitch and hearing him say that didn’t bother me or offend me at all. Hannah would’ve handled her anyway if needed. I know Hannah was trying to tease me after I told her we were a little busy, but I knew I could make her blush m

Easton POV“Mom, are you saying you think that girl from the rumors is Emily’s mother?”“It could be a very good possibility.” Mom replied. My dad looked between my mother and Emily and appeared to be lost in thought.“Do you remember her name?” Emily asked.“No, dear. I’ll call some of my friends and see what I can find out though.” Mom answered. She then furrowed her brows before adding, “When’s your birthday?”“February.” Emily said.“Do you know your parents’ anniversary?” Dad asked Emily.Emily gasped before answering, “My birthday. They said I was born on their first anniversary.”“How old are you?” Dad asked her. “Twenty.” She answered.Mom looked panicked as we all sat there contemplating. I could feel Emily’s emotions going crazy. She suddenly stiffened in my lap.“It was all a lie. He marked her while my mother was giving birth to me. That was the complication. They killed her.” She whispered.“Baby girl, what do you mean? I asked. Mom and dad were trying to hide their anger

  • The Forsaken Daughter   Overwhelmed

Emily POV There were so many thoughts and emotions swirling through me after Marie told us about the rumor she heard in college. Then when I remembered how my parents “mixed up” their anniversary with how old I was turning it just seemed to click in my head. The parents I had known my entire life were never fated mates, and they marked each other while my biological mother was already marked. They killed her. Whether or not it happened as she was giving birth or caused her labor to start isn’t even important. I’ve heard how excruciating the pain is when your mate is intimate with another. It’s also a known fact that marking another before breaking an established bond can be fatal to some wolves. The rage was about to consume me at that thought. When Marie told me I was likely part Fae, I felt the room begin to spin. don’t know how different the mate bond may be for Fae, but it’s probably similar. I clutched my chest at the new information, and if I hadn’t been sitting in Easton

  • The Forsaken Daughter   Moved In

Emily POVI don’t think I can ever get enough of Easton. Everything that’s happened today is so overwhelming, but having him gives me a sense of security. We finished in the shower and cleaned up real quick before getting out. I didn’t realize until I dried off that I didn’t have any more clothes to wear. I didn’t even have to say anything to Easton because he told me to hang on and came out with a T-shirt and sweatpants for me to wear. “I’ll have someone bring your things up while we’re eating.” He said as he handed me the clothes. “I don’t think I’d mind just wearing your sweatpants and t-shirts every day. They’re pretty comfy.” I told him when we were walking downstairs. He just grinned while he led me to the kitchen. Ryan and Hannah were waiting for us in the kitchen. Hannah rushed to hug me as we walked in. “Em, what exactly happened with your parents? Did your dad really banish you?” She blurted. “I’ll just explain while we eat.” I moaned. My stomach growled and Hannah wen

  • The Forsaken Daughter   Dream Meeting

Emily POV It didn’t take me very long to fall asleep, especially with Easton’s warmth wrapped around me. I woke up in a meadow of flowers next to a beautiful waterfall. I sat up and noticed that it was still dark outside, but the moon was full and shining brightly. It seemed to encompass everything in a silver glow. I looked around for some clue as to how I got here. I saw a regal looking woman approaching me. Her long, wavy hair was the same honey-colored shade as mine, but there were light pink highlights throughout it. As she got closer I saw her eyes were the same shade of purple as Kyra’s. I felt drawn to the unknown woman for some reason. I stood up and she sat on a large flat rock near the water’s edge. She waved for me to join her, so I walked and sat beside her. I sat gazing at her, and noticed that her skin seemed to sparkle. I took in her features, which were similar to mine. “Mama?” I questioned hesitantly. “Yes, my child. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be there

  • The Forsaken Daughter   A Better Morning

Emily POV Easton and I were lying in bed, wrapped in each other’s arms. My thoughts were drifting back to my dream meeting as he lazily traced his fingers up and down my back. “Baby girl, what’s on your mind?” He asked. “I met my real mother in a dream last night.” I confessed. My statement cause Easton to freeze and sit up a little. “What do you mean?” He asked while locking eyes with me. I felt as though his eyes could see into my soul, and I lost my thoughts for a moment. “I woke up in a meadow beside a water fall. A woman with hair my color and purple eyes like Kyra came and sit with me. I noticed our shared features. She was my mother.” I quickly said in one breath. “Whoa, baby girl. Slow down a second.” He said as he sat up the rest of the way. “I think this conversation needs to be had with coffee.” He added. He stood up and went to the closet. I sat on the bed, confused before he quickly returned with a t-shirt for me to wear. I put it on and he pulled me from the bed

  • The Forsaken Daughter   The Tour

I really could get used to taking a shower with Easton every morning. I had never felt so relaxed or cared for in my entire life. I was drying my hair and thinking about all of the changes in my life, when suddenly I remembered that wolves will sometimes know information but not share it with their human. ‘Kyra? Did you know about this the whole time?’ I asked my wolf. ‘About what? That Katherine wasn’t our mother?’ Kyra replied. ‘Well, that and the part about being part Fae.’ I retorted. ‘I knew about Katherine. I didn’t know about you being part Fae until the powers were unbound. I didn’t expect Katherine to act like that though, or I would’ve told you.’ She hesitantly replied. I have no clue where to begin looking for information about the Fae Kingdom, much less how to find it or enter it. I resolve to talk to Marie later. She can help me find my mother’s name at least. Maybe everything else can come in time. I turned the hair dryer off and set it down. I turned to finally ge

  • The Forsaken Daughter   Tour Part Two

We went down and as we passed the next floor and Easton said, “This is the Gamma floor. It’s basically the same as the Beta floor.” “This is where the offices are.” Ryan said as we descended below the Gamma floor. “This is Luke’s office and Callie’s is the one across from it. Then down here is a conference room.” We walked into the large conference room. The table was a deep mahogany and could easily fit twenty people. “There’s a screen over here for video conferences.” Easton said as he slid a large barn-style door to the side to reveal the large screen. “Or just to watch TV.” Ryan added playfully. They walked us out of the conference room and continued the tour. “This is a restroom, and this is a small kitchenette. It doesn’t get used too much, mostly only when the conference room is being used.” Easton said. We walked further down and before getting to a corner Ryan opened a d

Easton and Ryan showed us the rest of the offices and that’s when it finally registered that the Alpha floor was the top story. The floor below the offices and conference room had guest rooms for visiting Alphas, and below that were living quarters for wolves residing in the pack house. The floor containing the living quarters seemed much larger than the ones above it since it was more like a dormitory and didn’t need to deter unwanted guests. In the middle there were large communal bathrooms where the other stories would have been separated to the sides. We walked down the stairs to the bottom floor and I could tell what Easton meant about the front and back being separate. The first floor contained the pack kitchen and dining room on one side, and a large common room on the other side. Walking through the hallway to the back, we entered a large event room. The event room had tall ceiling, and stairs leading up both sides with balconies overlook

  • The Forsaken Daughter   73: Wise Words

Easton POV I felt like I’d lived an entire lifetime in the past three days. I could only imagine how Emily felt. I didn’t know anyone in the pack was part Fae, so it was a shock to learn Kent’s mate Michelle was. When Michelle agreed to speak with us upstairs, I thought we would just be discussing simple Fae abilities and maybe how Emily could use them. I definitely was not expecting Michelle’s grandmother to literally pop in and drop the answers to Emily’s questions right into our laps. I sat quietly while Aisling and Emily spoke, trying to take everything in and wrap my head around it. When Aisling said Emily’s mother was the Fae princess it explained why Emily had such a powerful aura and Alpha command. ‘So she’s technically a princess, too.’ Dallas preened. ‘I guess.’ I replied. ‘Definitely explains why she’s stronger than her dad.’ My heart clenched when Aisling said she would take Emily to the Fae kingdom, but I was quickly relieved when she added that she would t

  • The Forsaken Daughter   72: Real Answers

Emily POV “The entire Fae Kingdom?” I questioned. “Yes, dear. Your mother was the princess.” I blinked a few times as the words registered. I downed the rest of my drink before slowly standing and walking to refill my glass. If my mother was the princess, what does that make me? Surely they don’t expect me to rule the kingdom one day. I suppose that could also explain why Alpha commands don’t work on me and why I’m stronger than my dad. Everyone in the office quietly watched me as I walked back to the couch and sat down. “Who in their right mind marks some mediocre she-wolf when they’re already mated to a freaking PRINCESS?” I half-shouted to no-one in particular. I then remembered Easton saying he bet it was a love potion Katherine used. I turned to look him.

  • The Forsaken Daughter   71: Family

Emily POV We walked into my office and I walked straight to the bar. “Coffee or cocktail?” I offered. “An Old-Fashioned for us, please.” Kent replied. Easton had followed me to the bar and instructed me to sit while he made the four of us drinks. I went to sit on the couch and motioned to the chairs to instruct Kent and Michelle to sit as well. When we were all sitting, I took a deep breath as I contemplated where to begin. Easton gently nudged me. I took a large gulp of my drink before starting. “So, this information is confidential. Can y’all assure me you won’t discuss this outside of this room?” I asked. “You have our word. It remains between the four of us.” Michelle stated sincerely. “After we mated, I learned that Katherine is not my biological moth

  • The Forsaken Daughter   70: Startling Surprise

Emily POV Michelle was the opposite of most of the she-wolves I had met in Silver Springs, or ever, really. It was apparent that she had a no nonsense attitude and I was a bit taken aback at her grave demeanor. I felt an instant connection with Michelle for some strange reason. She didn’t seem to be overly friendly or over talkative, but I could sense something in her that seemed to tie us together. My wolf could sense it as well. ‘I don’t know what it is but it’s intriguing.’ Kyra mumbled to me. I was surprised to learn she was originally from the Conecuh Forest pack. Everyone I had met from that pack was usually playful and unserious. Like Jake without the arrogance and douchery. I told her I was originally from Blue Moon, and she looked at me quizzically for a brief moment and asked, “Who are your parents?” Hannah sensed my hesitancy and blurted, “She’s Alpha Adam’s oldest daughter.” “Well, I’ve always doubted the rumors about you, and after meeting you I’m glad I

  • The Forsaken Daughter   69: Smells like Teen Spirit

Emily POV Easton chuckled and slowly slid out of me. “It’s definitely my new favorite pastime.” He started to move away from me, and confusion washed over me until he reassured me with a light kiss on my forehead. “I need to throw the condom in the trash.” I hummed at his statement as he walked off. My eyes started to flutter closed, and I felt Easton slip back on the couch beside me and pull me close in his arms right before I drifted off to sleep. I woke up when the urge to use the bathroom hit me. I was cuddled close against Easton, and was thinking of a way to get up without waking up. I finally decided there wasn’t a way to do so since we had fallen asleep on the couch and I was between him and the back cushions. I tried to sit up, but he tightened his grip around my waist and mumbled something in his sleep. “Babe.” I whispered. I moved one hand to his cheek. He hummed in response and his eyes fluttered briefly. “I need to get up.” I said. He opened his eyes and loc

  • The Forsaken Daughter   68: Killing Time

Emily POV I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t for Easton to kiss the mark on my neck and ask, “Do you like this?” He continued to lick at the mark and kiss it and I couldn’t stop the small moan that escaped me as he did. “I more than like it.” I whispered. I slid my hands underneath his shirt to lightly stroke his back. His hands cupped my ass and I knew how I wanted to spend the time before dinner. He pulled his head from my neck and our lips met instantly. It didn’t take long for Easton to lift me, and I wrapped my legs around him. I grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it up. He pulled his lips from mine just long enough for me to pull his shirt over his head. I was glad he’d decided to wear a polo shirt instead of a button up. Easton had walked us to the couch, and he sat down with me in his lap. I leaned back and pulled my own shirt off. His eyes darkened as he looked at me. He reached around to unhook my bra, and I let it fall. His mouth went to o

  • The Forsaken Daughter   67: Alone Again

Easton POV I followed Emily into the kitchen and ignored Aunt Evelyn’s teasing. I leaned on the kitchen island and watched Emily start the coffee maker and get creamer and a bottled water out of the fridge. She caught me watching her and leaned over the island to whisper, “Anything you’d like to share with the class, Alpha?” “I definitely don’t want to share this with anyone.” I murmured. Emily stood to walk back and add creamer to her now-finished cup of coffee. She put the creamer back in fridge and asked, “Did you want anything?” “I think we gotta wait for what I want.” I winked. “Well, can’t say I’m surprised by that.” I heard Aunt Evelyn say from behind me. “Well, at least I’m not trying to drag her off with y’all in the living room.” I mumbled. She smirked at me and looked at Emily. “I have that monthly dose for you. It should be effective within twenty-four hours of taking it, so I suggest using other methods for the first day or two after.” She handed Emi

  • The Forsaken Daughter   66: Relief

Easton POV When Emily got out of the SUV I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. I was relieved she was finally back in my sight after only a few hours apart. I gave her a tight hug and started to passionately kiss her, but quickly remembered our audience and pulled away. I looked at Callie when I heard her giggle. “Told you they were miserable.” She winked at Emily. “Babe, you know it’s normal for newly mated couples. Besides, Easton got teased enough today by Aunt Evelyn.” Luke laughed. I turned to glare at him and saw that Luke was watching Ryan and me knowingly. I guess he had experienced this feeling when he and Callie were newly mated. I told Emily they could go upstairs and we’d get the bags, but she said it would be quicker if we all got them. Callie suggested taking them to their suite, so we decided on that. Once we had all the bags, I turned to dismiss Kent and Mitch. I was taken by surprise when Kent and Mitch looked to Emily and asked to carry the

  • The Forsaken Daughter   65: Online Shopping

Easton POV “Aw, come on! Can’t we play a few more games?” Ryan whined. “Fine.” I grumbled. “We’re playing Mario Kart, though.” I knew it would be a good idea to distract myself (and Ryan) from the fact that our mates were out shopping without us. We walked over to the side of the arcade where game consoles were. We sat down and grabbed three controllers to start our game. Several Mario Kart races later, Ryan and Luke were both pouting at my wins. “How do you always beat us in this?” Luke mumbled. I shrugged. “When you’re the best, you’re the best.” I smirked. Ryan huffed in annoyance. “I’ll win one day.” “Not today. It’s time to go back to work.” I said as I stood up. Ryan and Luke followed me. “Why is it so empty in here today?” I asked as we walked towards the exit. “Probably because school isn’t over for the day.” Luke said. I took my phone out to check the time and grumbled internally. Time seemed to moving slower than usual. Luke seemed to know what I
