There were so many thoughts and emotions swirling through me after Marie told us about the rumor she heard in college. Then when I remembered how my parents “mixed up” their anniversary with how old I was turning it just seemed to click in my head.

The parents I had known my entire life were never fated mates, and they marked each other while my biological mother was already marked. They killed her. Whether or not it happened as she was giving birth or caused her labor to start isn’t even important.

I’ve heard how excruciating the pain is when your mate is intimate with another. It’s also a known fact that marking another before breaking an established bond can be fatal to some wolves. The rage was about to consume me at that thought.

When Marie told me I was likely part Fae, I felt the room begin to spin. don’t know how different the mate bond may be for Fae, but it’s probably similar. I clutched my chest at the new information, and if I hadn’t been sitting in Easton
