The alpha wolf and his pack members exchanged profound glances. And I somehow find it hard to read what was running through their minds when most of my werewolf abilities had gone dormant.

My anger and resentment began to burst out when the wolf who dared lay his claws at Christian finally showed up. I smelled Chistian's blood in his claws.

A part of me wanted to charge at the wolf when Christian did nothing to them, yet he still attacked him without any signs of hesitation. However, my only option in my case was to wait for them to evacuate the mall.

Lashing out my anger and resentment toward him would only put me in a tough spot. My wolf was apparently outnumbered, let alone, they had an alpha with them. I don't stand a chance against him.

I believed even miracles would not take my side once I insisted on battling with them. At that time, Christian's survival was my top priority.

He needed to survive by all means. I needed him.

My wolf felt at ease after confirming no one was wandering within the range of my senses around half a kilometer in all directions. I sensed a few human and animal bodies but, I believed, they were all dead. For me and considering Christian's sensitive condition, that case would be a good thing. Those bodies' rotten smell helped and prohibited those werewolves from attacking us or from getting closer to the abandoned house. As long as I remained human, I believed, our chances of survival could be possible compared to my werewolf form. Nothing can disrupt Christian's transformation if given the chance the alpha wolf was right about the rumor. My conscience hoped it would work because I could not live without a Christian in my life. He dies, and I die too. And it will be my fucking fault if things go amiss. After putting Christian's unconscious body on the bed in one of the rooms in the abandoned house along with everything we grabbed from the shopping mall, I took an extra precauti

"Christian? Can you hear me? Where are you?" I cried out, ignoring the possibility that someone might hear my screaming. My wolf regretted leaving Christian in his awful condition all by himself in the abandoned house when a lot of things could have happened to him. The worst part of what I did was that I did not even think or feel worried about him while digging for some information on what was happening in the city from those werewolf hunters. Instead, I waited for them to fall asleep before checking out on Christian. And it took my wolf another sunrise to get past them. Now that I could not find him anymore, my preference to live disappeared in the blink of an eye. "Christian, I'm so sorry, dude. I could have stayed by your side. But instead, I left you without even saying a word. Please, forgive me." From soft uttering, my voice turned into wailing as I started having a hard time breathing. Then I dropped my knees on the rocky surface of the ground with th

  • The Cursed Kiss of the Omega   Chapter 1: The Cursed Kiss

Justine's POV There was this old aphorism from the human world that says, "A kiss is believed to be the best medicine" the world could offer. Most humans believe that even a single kiss could swallow darkness with light, change sadness to happiness, a remedy to all kinds of sicknesses, and most of all, this privilege is free of charge. Sad to say, all of those privileges prohibit me by all means when I freaking believed that my lips were cursed by the moon goddess as it could darken the light, turn everyone's happiness to madness, and worsen all kinds of illnesses. The worst part of my case was that I could not risk offering someone a single kiss. For you to have a quick tour of my terrible and unforgettable past, everything began the second I turned eighteen two years ago. --- Two years ago "Justine... We've been together for the past three years, isn't it?" she whispered as she gently caressed my hairy broad chest. "And today, if I am not mistaken, marked our third anniv

  • The Cursed Kiss of the Omega   Chapter 2: He Fucking Remembered

Because of too much regret that itched my heart, I gritted my teeth to the point that the surface of my lips got a tiny cut. Of all the humans with me in the room last night, the one I bestowed the cursed kiss had to be Christian, my best friend. He was the only human out of the millions living all over Spain with whom I could share everything about myself except for the fact that there lived a beast inside me. The worst thing that my wolf had been avoiding for the past three years happened again. Right in front of my eyes was a lifeless poor human. I should have known better. My wolf would rather consider it acceptable if the one I murdered with my cursed kiss was one of the female humans. But in the end, that bottle of wine got me wasted to the point that I was not even aware of what time they headed out last night. The last thing I remember was that Christian and I crawled onto the bed and then his cold arms around me found solace in my warm skin. Thereafter, everything turned

"What?" Christian frowned. "But I thought you were aware that we kissed and had sex that night. Justine? A part of me wanted to punch you in the face for once because of what you did. Then I realized you were my best friend." I turned around and pointed my face back to the lavatory when my entire face flushed red. Left speechless, I rolled my eyes while gathering the right words to come up with a reasonable answer to Christian's question. "So, are you just gonna ignore me, huh?" he added, "I was supposed to be the one to get mad instead of you. Why can't you explain to me why you did it?" He added. This time, the tone of his voice sharpened. "Christian, I killed someone last night." The confession was the only thing that came out of my helpless brain. I confessed in order for him to get to the bottom of everything - the reasonable answer to his question. Then I mustered the courage deep beneath my core, human and wolf, and turned around and fixed my eyes on Christian. "Can you sa

  • The Cursed Kiss of the Omega   Chapter 4: Any Last Word

"Aren't I supposed to be the one asking you that, Christian?" I frowned while scanning the entire forest. Unfolding the mystery behind my mask was supposed to be forbidden. Worries flashed over me once anyone from the pack discovered that recklessness. My wolf shouldn't have done that in front of anyone or even Christian, but confessing to him was the only way, I believed, to let him stay. "I mean, you just witnessed something extraordinary - beyond human imagination." I continued, "Aren't you scared of me? I killed humans, Christian." To my surprise, Christian bestowed a humble smile on his face and dared slide closer to me. He crouched and reached out to my cheeks. "You're not even listening, are you?" he asked, "Let me say it again. I like you, Justine, either as a monster or as my best friend. Even if we have known each other for a year, to me, I have known you for like... half of my life." Then he caressed the dense fur on my forehead before he continued, "I want to be with

Based on my quick observation, the chances of pulling the trigger were inevitable when my wolf sensed there was no sign of doubt on his face. Sleeplessness and Desperation were floating all over the room. "Chris?" I blurted his name in surprise before he could pull the trigger. "It's me, your boyfriend, Justine." To make him believe that I was telling the truth, I shifted back to my human form. As soon as Christian saw my face, he let go of the rifle and wrapped his arms around me, sobbing. He did not even care if my body was completely naked at that moment. And every fiber of his muscles was trembling in fear. "It's all right, Chris. You're safe now. I'm so sorry if it took me long enough to visit you in your apartment." I caressed his back to help him ease off his restless mind and trembling muscles. "They're all dead, Justine. My entire family was killed by those werewolves." He continued sobbing and tightened the wrap of his arms around me. No words can get back the lives that
