The Test Result

Samuel walked into the hospital and when he checked his watch, he realized that he was very late. He knew that he was late, but he did not know how late he was.

“Good morning, Mr. Fury,” the hospital receptionist greeted Samuel cheerily.

Samuel looked at her but ignored her greeting. He was still angry with her for not keeping the name of the lady who came into the hospital attempting to pay his mother a visit, and worse, she still worked there. Samuel had raised hell that day when she fumbled and admitted that she had actually forgotten to take down the lady’s name, and he had demanded that she be fired immediately, but his mother, with her tender and graceful heart had specifically asked that she should be pardoned.

Well, everyone wasn’t like Mary.

Samuel would never understand how his mother managed to maintain being so nice, forgiving, empathetic and helpful to everyone around her despite what she had been through in the hands of the Fury family, but he was nothing like her. Samue
