In a frenzy panic, Ciara quickly tossed the knife back to its position and sauntered to her room. She had no idea who was opening the door, and she did not even remember the camera when she heard the clicking sound. Whatever the case may be, Ciara did not want to just sit there and wait to be murdered, because it was highly possible that Samuel could have sent someone over to the penthouse to complete what the first man he hired failed to do.

From Ciara’s room; the room Samuel loaned to her actually, found a small opening in the curtains. Inside the penthouse, the walls were glassed, so once the curtains are taken out, you could literally see every part of the rooms and spaces easily. It was a cozy and beautiful setting, but right now, it feels to Ciara as though she was in the lion’s den. If she had known that Samuel was capable of eliminating her, she would have vehemently stood against the order of coming to the penthouse for her supposed safety.

From the opening, Ciara watched and

He knew that he was late, but he did not know how late he was.“Good morning, Mr. Fury,” the hospital receptionist greeted Samuel cheerily.Samuel looked at her but ignored her greeting. He was still angry with her for not keeping the name of the lady who came into the hospital attempting to pay his mother a visit, and worse, she still worked there. Samuel had raised hell that day when she fumbled and admitted that she had actually forgotten to take down the lady’s name, and he had demanded that she be fired immediately, but his mother, with her tender and graceful heart had specifically asked that she should be pardoned.Well, everyone wasn’t like Mary. Samuel would never understand how his mother managed to maintain being so nice, forgiving, empathetic and helpful to everyone around her despite what she had been through in the hands of the Fury family, but he was nothing like her. Ciara jolted awake by the unexpected buzzing of her phone. Somehow, she had managed to doze off after Samuel left the penthouse. He hadn’t said anything to her after their eyes met, and for a second, Ciara thought he was going to storm into the room and strangle her.Instead, he had walked out of the penthouse completely.“Hello, Ciara Summers on the line,” Ciara said drowsily. She did not even bother to check who was calling before picking. She had just jolted awake and reached for the ringing gadget.“Dear, are you alright? I have been worried sick about you,” Aunt Mary’s voice filtered into Ciara’s ears.“Yes, Aunt Mary, I am alright,” it wasn’t true, but Ciara did not want to put the woman through another bout of panic. Besides, she already had her health to worry about.“Aunt Mary was during the prison days, Ciara. I am your mother-in-law now,” Aunt Mary scolded lightly. Ciara could hear her chuckle in the background.Tears welled up in Ciara’s eyes. She would never understand wh

Samuel stepped into his penthouse and stopped in his tracks. He was supposed to be upset at the sight in front of him, but he just could not bring himself to being so angry, not with how Ciara Summers slept peacefully. Since Samuel knew Ciara, and the few times he had seen her sleeping, she had always been troubled, but this time around, she was just sprawled on the sofa, and from all indications, it was obvious that she had dozed off in the middle of eating. Samuel did not know when a light chuckle escaped his lips. She had made what seemed like a mountain of meal. Then Samuel scolded himself for being insensitive. He had dragged her all the way down here without thinking that she might have need to eat. Well, he did not even want her here in the first place which was a good explanation for his reactions. It was a good thing then that she could whip up something.Samuel did not like his place looking like a mess, so he grabbed the littered half-empty plate of food and cans of water

“Never did I think this was going to work,” Ruby said as she sipped from her glass of wine. She raised it in a toast and Linda reciprocated, a coy smile playing on her lips. “I think you have grown better with scheming and strategizing,” Ruby applauded Linda.Linda smiled with pride as she also drank from her own cup of wine. She had waited for the day almost all her life. A day where Ruby would eventually come to the realization that she was just as good as Ruby could ever be, or even more. For years, Ruby, especially had taken Linda for granted. She had always wanted to scheme things through, but Ruby believed that it was better to do it herself.“I learned from the best,” Linda said as she returned her toast. The two women, mother and daughter stared at each other with admiration. “When dad informed us that Samuel Fury was seeking a personal pregnancy test, I almost panicked,” Linda said with a light chuckle. Ruby hissed. “I hate to say this, but Colt can be a little annoying so

She stood there and watched the nurse enter into a cab and drive off. Although she wore a casual outfit and bent her head low to avoid recognition, but Ciara would know her any time, and from whatever distance. In fact, since the day she assisted Ciara in making the doctor not tell Samuel about her pregnancy, she had memorized the Nurse’s face. The question now is, what is she doing sneaking out of the Luscious residence? After the altercation with Samuel, Ciara had stormed out of the penthouse. Luckily for her, the door had been left unlocked, so she had access to leave, and as she left, the only thing Ciara wanted to do was visit her mother’s grave and cry to her. “Let me help you, miss.”Ciara felt someone grab her hands tenderly. The voice was oddly familiar, and even though the hold was gentle and sent a message of help, the person’s palm was coarse, way stronger than Ciara’s palms. Ciara had no choice now as she allowed the person lead her away.“I really need water to wipe my eyes,” Ciara cried. She felt as though she had already gone blind with the aching pain she was feeling deep inside her eyes. Her body was also feeling sticky as a result of the wine Ruby poured on her, and if Ciara hadn’t struggled her way out of the house, they both might have connived together and emptied the entire wine bottle on her body. “Of course, miss. Who did this to you?” She asked as she continued to lead Ciara somewhere.“I just need water,” Ciara cried. Until she cleaned her eyes and felt better, she would not be able to answer any silly questions, especially from strangers. “Where are you taking me?” Ciara asked. She had just realized that what seemed

Ciara entered the penthouse with Samuel. She was shivering, but it had nothing to do with cold. She could not shake off the encounter of what almost happened to her. Everything happened so fast even before Ciara could wrap her head around it.“Thank you,” Ciara said quietly. She noticed that since they got in, Samuel had been looking at her in a weird way. He had seen her scars, well, some of them, and now, he knows a part of her demons, and she knew deep down that Samuel had a lot of confrontations with her.“What I would like is an explanation to things,” Samuel said sternly. He looked and sounded angrier than when he had stormed into the alley, scared the inmates out of their wits and saved Ciara.Ciara opened her mouth, but no words would come out. She did not know where to begin, or maybe truthfully, she did not want to share that part of her life with him.“I need some money,” Ciara stated instead.Samuel became infuriated. “What do you need money for again?” He demanded harshly.

Later that night, Ciara stayed in bed and sobbed bitterly. Samuel Fury succeeded in making her quit her demand by his last statement. In truth, Ciara had no idea how she got released the second time, because the correctional officer did not inform her, but with Samuel’s words, she could not doubt it, because she knew quite well that he had the capability to do so.Those words alone were enough to make Ciara succumb, because there was no way in heaven she was going back to prison; not if she could help it. The terrors in Ciara’s life in prison were out, but Ciara knew that they were not the only ones that bullied her while she was in prison. There were several others, but those had just been random bullies, but these two definitely had something against Ciara to make them want to kill her so badly.Unfortunately, she would not be able to visit her mother’s grave and cry to her like she had intended, and this was why Ciara soaked the bed and pillows with hot tears. Ciara heard a knock on the door and she went to open it without an iota of fear or dread; all her enemies have been put behind bars.Ciara got discharged from the hospital two days ago, and she was yet to make that call to Samuel Fury that she had wanted to make, because she was still dazed about the revelation.“The world is truly a small place,” Ciara had said to herself, breathlessly.Who would have thought that Samuel’s son would be birthed by the same doctor? Heck, who would have thought that the mysterious man that Ciara had spent that night with was Samuel Fury? Ciara trembled at the thought of telling Samuel that her son was his, because she fully believed the doctor even though she was yet to see Samuel’s left thigh, and that was primarily because they hadn’t been really intimate.Ciara almost passed out when she opened the door and found Samuel Fury standing before her. They stared deeply into each other’s eyes for a couple of minutes without saying anything, and Ciara could

It had been several months now, and Ciara was glad that she hadn’t been found, because deep down, she knew that Samuel Fury would be looking all over the country for her. Her bump was big now, and the doctor she had begun seeing already told her that she would be due any moment from now. Ciara wanted Samuel to find her, desperately for that matter, but she knew that if she let Samuel find her without closing this chapter of her life, she would never be complete.Ciara was free now, and she knew this because she was lucky to be present at a coffee shop when Colt and Ruby’s court verdict was read. She wondered why Linda Luscious wasn’t also in the stand, but Ciara pushed that out of her mind. Her only goal and desire right now, before she had her baby, was to see her mother’s grave.“Coffee, as usual?” The coffee server asked Ciara. He was an elderly man who seemed to have seen better years, Ciara almost felt pity for the man, but then again, he seemed to be doing what he loved.“Yes,

They looked devastated, but Samuel was not moved. As he sat there, he felt relieved that he would be getting the justice he deserved, as well as Ciara Summers. Jess had tracked Hayes down when he was trying to run away, and had handed him over to the cops. A lot had happened since Ciara walked away and never returned,

  • The Contract Bride: Falling For Fury    What Truly Happened

“It happened two years ago…” Linda began as her mind drifted back to that day years ago.Linda was involved with a perverted old man. This was all because of how reckless she had been living.“Why don't you show me some love toots?” The old man crossed the line, touching her in ways that were unacceptable.“Stop it...” She did her best to resist the man’s grip and the two engaged in a struggle. Eventually, Linda drove her stiletto heel into his skull. The man plopped to the floor completely lifeless.Linda’s heart pounded as she stared at the lifeless body, “He’s dead.” Linda covered her mouth after realising that she had taken the old man’s life.“Think Linda, now is not the time to panic.” She took a series of deep breaths to calm herself as she wiped off her fingerprints from the heel. “What do I do now?” After a while, Linda called her mother.“Mom...” Her voice was shaky.“What is it?” Her mother asked, a hint of worry was evident in her voice.Linda shared her current predica

Ciara waited patiently for Rudge to show up in the location that he sent to her. She was not agitated. She was not afraid. She just wanted to be fully and completely free. When it would happen, she would no longer live her life in bondage, or under the mercy of anyone, but she would know what happened that exact day, and she would be completely free, because Ciara knew that she did not kill that man. Ciara was not even capable of murder, and what happened with Lori’s baby had been a huge mistake. Ciara hadn’t thought of it before now, but she was certain now that Linda and her parents framed her and caused her to spend time in prison for a crime that she did not commit. She wouldn’t be surprised, because several times, aside from the incident that happened on Linda’s twentieth birthday party, there had been other cases that Linda had lied on Ciara, and Ciara had taken the fall for Linda’s recklessness. The only problem was that Ciara did not know exactly what happened.Once Rudge tel

Ciara was still shaken from the whole episode that happened at the cabin. She had been dazed for hours now, unable to react at all. Martin had meant to kill her. He would have driven the sharp knife into her stomach, and then, he would have killed not just her, but also her baby. Martin hadn’t called her to confess a thing to her. Instead, he had tricked her into coming just so that he could avenge the death of Lori and their baby.Suddenly, instinctively, abruptly, Ciara got out of her shock. She looked around frantically; she was back at the penthouse. Ciara jumped up as though the couch she sat on had caught fire.“How did I get back here?!” Ciara asked no one in particular, because she was alone in the living room. “Samuel?” She called out, but no response. She continued to turn around frantically until Jess arrived from the kitchen, carrying a glass of warm water.“Who are you and how did you get in here?” Ciara asked Jess as though she was about to launch an attack on her.“Don

“Miss Luscious, this is not a risk I would advise you to take,” the doctor said to Linda. It was still morning, and Linda had left the house without her parent’s knowledge, but she knew that she had to do what needed to be done. Linda was still angry with her parents, especially with everything that was unfolding, and it was beginning to dawn on Linda the severity of the situation.“I have to do something,” Linda had said to herself the night before, “Because I cannot go down with my patients, because I wasn’t even there when they did most of what they did.”Linda had begun to make escape plans. For days now, she had been starving, although she usually sneaked into the kitchen, but it was usually almost futile, because she only met crumbs of canned food. Ciara entered the cabin, and she was met with an eerie silence that threw her off balance. At first, she thought Martin had tricked her into coming to the cabin, because it looked and felt oddly deserted. “Hello?” Ciara called out calmly, not wanting to be too loud so that Samuel who was outside would not get the wrong signal. It was late and quiet, which meant that any noise at all was liable to travel far. “Is anyone home?” Ciara asked, but she remained rooted in her spot. She could not bring herself to even check the other parts of the cabin to be sure that it was completely empty, because somehow, even though Ciara could not explain it, there was something dreadfully dangerous about the cabin. It did not feel like the cabin that hosted her some weeks ago.“Is anyone home?” Ciara called out again, but she was met with absolute silence. Then her shoulders dropped in disappointment; Martin had tricked her into coming here. When would this ever end? Why did it always feel like Ciara

You have been in worse situations, Samuel Fury, so why are you jumpy?” Jess asked and looked at Samuel, and she became more shocked when she saw that Samuel was visibly shaking and sweating. “Damn, Samuel, are you about to faint?” Jess could not help but ask.Jess looked at Samuel, seeing him vulnerable and scared to his bones for the very first time since she had known him, and it dawned on her that Samuel was this way, because Theresa went to the cabin on her own, in danger. There was no other logical explanation to why Samuel was acting as though he was being faced with death.“Oh, I see,” Jess said with a grin.Samuel looked at her, confused. “When you grin like that, you are being mischievous, and now is honestly not the time for that,” Samuel said, angry and irritated. “Don’t you read the room?
