Ciara paced around the penthouse not knowing what to do. She could not take her eyes off the knife. What was the knife doing in Samuel Fury’s penthouse? She could clearly remember when he told her that he was even more dangerous than her suspect.

Did Samuel Fury try to murder her? Did he send someone to the luxury apartment to kill her?

First of all, he acted as though they needed a gardener for the lawn, and suddenly, right after they returned from their trip, Ciara found the same man she suspected must have wanted to attack her in this same penthouse. Still, Samuel denied seeing anyone behind her; the same penthouse no one knew about, so how come Ciara’s attacker knew the place and almost attacked her there? It was all now beginning to come together. Samuel Fury was after her life. He forced her to marry him, but that was solely because he wanted to please his dying mother, and now, Samuel wants to get rid of her by all means.

Ciara shivered.

She fell on the floor and sobbed sorro

In a frenzy panic, Ciara quickly tossed the knife back to its position and sauntered to her room. She had no idea who was opening the door, and she did not even remember the camera when she heard the clicking sound. Whatever the case may be, Ciara did not want to just sit there and wait to be murdered, because it was highly possible that Samuel could have sent someone over to the penthouse to complete what the first man he hired failed to do.From Ciara’s room; the room Samuel loaned to her actually, found a small opening in the curtains. Inside the penthouse, the walls were glassed, so once the curtains are taken out, you could literally see every part of the rooms and spaces easily. It was a cozy and beautiful setting, but right now, it feels to Ciara as though she was in the lion’s den. If she had known that Samuel was capable of eliminating her, she would have vehemently stood against the order of coming to the penthouse for her supposed safety. From the opening, Ciara watched and

Samuel walked into the hospital and when he checked his watch, he realized that he was very late. He knew that he was late, but he did not know how late he was.“Good morning, Mr. Fury,” the hospital receptionist greeted Samuel cheerily.Samuel looked at her but ignored her greeting. He was still angry with her for not keeping the name of the lady who came into the hospital attempting to pay his mother a visit, and worse, she still worked there. Samuel had raised hell that day when she fumbled and admitted that she had actually forgotten to take down the lady’s name, and he had demanded that she be fired immediately, but his mother, with her tender and graceful heart had specifically asked that she should be pardoned.Well, everyone wasn’t like Mary. Samuel would never understand how his mother managed to maintain being so nice, forgiving, empathetic and helpful to everyone around her despite what she had been through in the hands of the Fury family, but he was nothing like her. Ciara jolted awake by the unexpected buzzing of her phone. Somehow, she had managed to doze off after Samuel left the penthouse. He hadn’t said anything to her after their eyes met, and for a second, Ciara thought he was going to storm into the room and strangle her.Instead, he had walked out of the penthouse completely.“Hello, Ciara Summers on the line,” Ciara said drowsily. She did not even bother to check who was calling before picking. She had just jolted awake and reached for the ringing gadget.“Dear, are you alright? I have been worried sick about you,” Aunt Mary’s voice filtered into Ciara’s ears.“Yes, Aunt Mary, I am alright,” it wasn’t true, but Ciara did not want to put the woman through another bout of panic. Besides, she already had her health to worry about.“Aunt Mary was during the prison days, Ciara. I am your mother-in-law now,” Aunt Mary scolded lightly. Ciara could hear her chuckle in the background.Tears welled up in Ciara’s eyes. She would never understand wh

Samuel stepped into his penthouse and stopped in his tracks. He was supposed to be upset at the sight in front of him, but he just could not bring himself to being so angry, not with how Ciara Summers slept peacefully. Since Samuel knew Ciara, and the few times he had seen her sleeping, she had always been troubled, but this time around, she was just sprawled on the sofa, and from all indications, it was obvious that she had dozed off in the middle of eating. Samuel did not know when a light chuckle escaped his lips. She had made what seemed like a mountain of meal. Then Samuel scolded himself for being insensitive. He had dragged her all the way down here without thinking that she might have need to eat. Well, he did not even want her here in the first place which was a good explanation for his reactions. It was a good thing then that she could whip up something.Samuel did not like his place looking like a mess, so he grabbed the littered half-empty plate of food and cans of water

She raised it in a toast and Linda reciprocated, a coy smile playing on her lips. “I think you have grown better with scheming and strategizing,” Ruby applauded Linda.Linda smiled with pride as she also drank from her own cup of wine. She had waited for the day almost all her life. A day where Ruby would eventually come to the realization that she was just as good as Ruby could ever be, or even more. For years, Ruby, especially had taken Linda for granted. She had always wanted to scheme things through, but Ruby believed that it was better to do it herself.“I learned from the best,” Linda said as she returned her toast. The two women, mother and daughter stared at each other with admiration. “When dad informed us that Samuel Fury was seeking a personal pregnancy test, I almost panicked,” Linda said with a light chuckle. Ruby hissed. “I hate to say this, but Colt can be a little annoying so

Ciara stumbled blindly towards the Luscious residence, but she stopped short when she noticed Samuel Fury’s nurse sneaking out of the premises.Ciara was shocked. She stood there and watched the nurse enter into a cab and drive off. Although she wore a casual outfit and bent her head low to avoid recognition, but Ciara would know her any time, and from whatever distance. In fact, since the day she assisted Ciara in making the doctor not tell Samuel about her pregnancy, she had memorized the Nurse’s face. The question now is, what is she doing sneaking out of the Luscious residence? After the altercation with Samuel, Ciara had stormed out of the penthouse. Luckily for her, the door had been left unlocked, so she had access to leave, and as she left, the only thing Ciara wanted to do was visit her mother’s grave and cry to her. She wanted someone to talk to, and her mother was the only person she knew could openly talk to and pour out her heart. Her mother was the only person, dead or

“Let me help you, miss.”Ciara felt someone grab her hands tenderly. The voice was oddly familiar, and even though the hold was gentle and sent a message of help, the person’s palm was coarse, way stronger than Ciara’s palms. Ciara had no choice now as she allowed the person lead her away.“I really need water to wipe my eyes,” Ciara cried. She felt as though she had already gone blind with the aching pain she was feeling deep inside her eyes. Her body was also feeling sticky as a result of the wine Ruby poured on her, and if Ciara hadn’t struggled her way out of the house, they both might have connived together and emptied the entire wine bottle on her body. “Of course, miss. Who did this to you?” She asked as she continued to lead Ciara somewhere.“I just need water,” Ciara cried. Until she cleaned her eyes and felt better, she would not be able to answer any silly questions, especially from strangers. “Where are you taking me?” Ciara asked. She had just realized that what seemed

Ciara entered the penthouse with Samuel. She was shivering, but it had nothing to do with cold. She could not shake off the encounter of what almost happened to her. Everything happened so fast even before Ciara could wrap her head around it.“Thank you,” Ciara said quietly. She noticed that since they got in, Samuel had been looking at her in a weird way. He had seen her scars, well, some of them, and now, he knows a part of her demons, and she knew deep down that Samuel had a lot of confrontations with her.“What I would like is an explanation to things,” Samuel said sternly. He looked and sounded angrier than when he had stormed into the alley, scared the inmates out of their wits and saved Ciara.Ciara opened her mouth, but no words would come out. She did not know where to begin, or maybe truthfully, she did not want to share that part of her life with him.“I need some money,” Ciara stated instead.Samuel became infuriated. “What do you need money for again?” He demanded harshly.

“…You have fallen in love with Ciara Summers.”The words of Doctor Pedro continued to tug Samuel’s heartstrings.“That is a blatant lie. Doctor Pedro has no idea what he has said,” Samuel said vehemently to himself, fighting strongly against Doctor Pedro’s words. “He is a bloody medical doctor, not a love therapist,” Samuel added as he stubbornly resumed his position by the door of Ciara’s ward.He had convinced himself that Doctor Pedro was lying, so why couldn’t he discard the words. Usually, Samuel never engaged himself in words that were even remotely related to love, so he could not understand why he couldn’t stop thinking of those words. In order to distract himself, he called Kingston.“Have you run the errands, Kingston?” Samuel asked.“Yes, I have,” Kingston answered without stuttering this time around.Samuel still felt skeptical about his delivery, but he did not have the time to dwell on that.“That is impressive,” Samuel said, and for someone who acted as though it was im

He hadn’t still gone in to check up on her, but he believed the doctor when he said that Ciara was doing just fine.“I have to stay here until she is ready to be discharged,” Samuel said.Doctor Pedro looked at him in shock. “You can’t possibly stand here until then. You have been standing right on this spot for hours, Mr. Fury. You will get yourself exhausted if you continue to do so,” Doctor Pedro tried to warn Samuel.Samuel had been in the worst situations. He almost told Doctor Pedro that he had been in more tedious situations, and hadn’t broken down, so this was little compared to what he had been through before.“I am good, thank you,” Samuel said firmly. He had a lot of things he was worrying about, so it would not be ideal to add Ciara’s s

He still had unfinished discussion with Jess; Ciara’s distress call had interrupted it. The moment Samuel had picked Ciara’s call, he had dashed out of Jess’s place, but Jess’s last statement stayed glued in Samuel’s head.Something was wrong, and he knew now that he was close to finding out. Jess already told him that Colt Luscious was responsible for the most horrible experience of his life, but he needed to know why, and without a doubt now, Samuel knew that Linda was not the woman he spent that night with.“Then who was she?” Samuel asked himself, deeply worried. “Oh, Jess is going to be swamped with a whole lot of craz

Samuel tried to drive as fast as he could without drawing the attention of the patrol officers, because that would only make things messier and more complicated. Ciara had stopped screaming now, but she was groaning in deep pain that Samuel felt deep in his bones.“Ciara, are you okay?” Samuel asked, turning to take a quick glance at her. His heart, against his will, shattered at the sight of Ciara in severe pain.“Mm-hmm,” Ciara hummed in response, unable to talk. Her voice was overwhelmed with the pain she was experiencing. Samuel’s heart squeezed in agony. Looking at Ciara now made him remember seeing his mother in her own pain. Samuel did not understand why women, who are tender and fragile, needed to be going through pain. If he could, he would have gladly taken on the pain from them, especially his mother, and now, Ciara Summers.“Just hang in there. We are close already,” Samuel said in an attempt to soothe Ciara. Deep down, he was scared that something would happen to her…or

“What should we do now, Ruby?” Colt asked his wife, tensed. They had both been restless ever since Colt got off the phone with the head cop who informed him that things did not go as planned. “I need a moment to think,” Ruby said.“We don’t have a moment, Ruby!” Colt said desperately, his voice almost reaching the roof; he was losing control again. “Samuel Fury is up to something, and I know it. If he ever finds out, then we are doomed!” Colt continued.“Well, I will not be able to come up with a concrete plan if I keep hearing your loud voice in my ears,” Ruby said, but deep down, she was deeply worried; more worried than she was letting on.She knew the consequences of being caught by both Samuel and Ciara. All their dirty dealings from the past would come to light, and they would all go to jail. Ruby couldn’t let that happen. But then again, she was even more worried because she had been unable to come up with anything useful recently. It was as though her mind was beginning to f

She still hasn’t been able to get in touch with Rudge and meet his demands, because clearly now, he definitely knew something that would help her. “I am so close. So close!” Ciara said desperately to herself. All that she had fought for were coming to her with ease, but yet again, Samuel had managed to make it far from her reach. If she was still in the woods, she would have just driven down to the cabin. The last time she was there, he refused to tell her what she needed to know, but now, by some sheer luck, he was even offering to talk. Ciara wasn’t exactly sure why he now had a change of heart, but she knew that sometimes, conscience did lead people into doing the right thing.“I need to get out of here,” Ciara said desperately to herself. If only Samuel would show up, then she would be able to get out at night, whe

It had been hours, and it was getting dark, Samuel was yet to return. As the pregnancy progressed, Ciara noticed that she had become easily hungry, tired, and sleepy now, and this really scared her, because it also meant that she might not be able to achieve most of what she wanted to achieve.Ciara was yet to visit the hospital and register for antenatal health care, and that was another problem that plagued her mind.It would be difficult to achieve, especially now that she was hiding out in Samuel’s penthouse, and was being sought by the cops.Ciara’s phone rang, jolting her out of her t

He knew that Ciara might be worried about where he went, and also, he needed to tell Ciara about the recent development, and they did need to have a long discussion about what to do next. One thing that Samuel was grateful for was keeping his penthouse completely private, and even so, no one would ever be able to get in except he gave them the code. His phone rang, and when he looked at his screen, it was Jess that was calling him.“What have you found?” Samuel said the moment the call connected.“Slow down, mate!” Jess said, laughing. “Days ago, you weren’t so eager, so what changed?” Jess asked lightly.“Not everything is a joke, Jess,” Samuel said.
