Demons and Scars

Samuel stepped into his penthouse and stopped in his tracks. He was supposed to be upset at the sight in front of him, but he just could not bring himself to being so angry, not with how Ciara Summers slept peacefully.

Since Samuel knew Ciara, and the few times he had seen her sleeping, she had always been troubled, but this time around, she was just sprawled on the sofa, and from all indications, it was obvious that she had dozed off in the middle of eating.

Samuel did not know when a light chuckle escaped his lips. She had made what seemed like a mountain of meal. Then Samuel scolded himself for being insensitive. He had dragged her all the way down here without thinking that she might have need to eat. Well, he did not even want her here in the first place which was a good explanation for his reactions. It was a good thing then that she could whip up something.

Samuel did not like his place looking like a mess, so he grabbed the littered half-empty plate of food and cans of water
