Mariane’s left cheek turned red from Geneva’s slap, while Mariane just silently accepted the anger of a mother. She couldn’t blame her. Her son was now on the brink of death after saving Mariane and Jacob from danger. And if she was in Geneva’s situation, she would surely be angry with the person who had a reason why her son was on the verge of death.
