Chapter 58

It was 9pm and it was raining heavily. Ember walked into the house with a gift box in her hands. She closed the door, took off her wet shoes and put them on the side. The house was quiet which was normal since all the maids and servants had already left and the only one who would be awake would be the butler, Catherine had gone to be as well. As she walked further into the house she noticed that the refrigerator was opened and that there was someone in the kitchen.

She already guessed who it would be. She walked towards the kitchen and to no one's surprise Axle was in there boiling some water to make a cup of strong coffee. "Would it hurt to go a day without drinking that strong coffee?" Ember asked, entering the kitchen.

"I didn't see you there, what's that?" He asked, pointing at the gift box that Ember was carrying.

"It's a gift for you." She said. She put the gift box in front of him on the kitchen counter.

"You rarely buy me a gift, so what's the occasion?" He asked. Ember rol
