Ember took her phone and looked for her mother's number. She was the only one that she could think of at that moment because she had nowhere to go if she left. Her old apartment was already occupied and she didn't think of getting herself a house while still living with Axle because she didn't think that a day like this would come. A day when she had to leave this place and probably never come back. As soon as her eyes landed on it she called it. Her father was in prison and her mother had finally reunited with Robert so her siblings were staying with her. "Hello?" Catherine said."M-mom…" She was still crying, she couldn't stop herself from crying, even though she wanted to sound strong when talking to her mother."Ember, what's wrong? Are you crying?" She asked. Ember wiped her tears, but more tears just kept on falling from her eyes."Mom, can you come and pick me up tomorrow morning?" She asked."Why, what's wrong?" "I'll tell you everything later, just come and pick me up early
After almost an hour they arrived at Catherine's and Robert's home. Catherine and Ember hadn't said a word to each other except for when Catherine asked Ember what it is that she wanted to eat when they arrived at the restaurant to order food. They both got out of the car and a maid walked out of the house to help them with Ember's luggage. After Catherine had shown Ember the room that she'd be sleeping in. She then left her alone to unpack and just be with herself. The closet wasn't as big as the one that she had back in Axle's place but it was big enough to fit all her clothes but not shoes, so she had to put them somewhere else. The first thing that she opened was a bag that she had just packed some random things in. Even though she didn't have a lot of time to think and pack what was right she was still able to take pictures of Jaden with her. She felt like crying the second her eyes landed on that picture but she told herself not to, it's not like everything was her fault anyway
A few days later Axle filed for a divorce. Ember didn't question it she just went on with it, she was lucky that she didn't lose Jaden because Axle had allowed her to see him only on weekends when he's at his parents' house and had to watch her every time and that made Ember feel uncomfortable because she had never had anyone watch her play with her son with hatred and anger burning in their eyes, but she had no choice but to get used to it because that's just how things were going to operate from then onwards, she had no say in anything. Her days didn't get any better there, Karen tried to kill her on multiple occasions but she kept on failing because Elias kept on getting in her way and ruining her plans before she could even get on with them. Axle didn't know about that because Elias didn't tell him, he didn't see a need to since he wasn't with Ember anymore so he just kept an eye on Karen and the things that she did, so that he could figure out her plans. So far it has been qui
Ember slowly opened her eyes as she tried to adjust to the bright light that was right above her. As soon as she was able to fully adjust to the bright light she was finally able to look at her surroundings. There were no windows, the only light in the room came from the light bulb that was right above her. She tried to move but she couldn't, it seemed like she was paralyzed, aside from that her hands and legs were tied to whatever it is that she was lying on. She could tell that it was not a bed because it was very uncomfortable. The room was empty, the only things in the room were her and the thing that she was laying on. It was quiet, very quiet. She didn't like it at all. The door was right in front of her but she couldn't move. So she had to wait for someone to enter the door. She wanted to be as calm as she possibly could even though she had no idea where she was and who the person that kidnapped was and what they wanted to do with her. She closed her eyes, she wasn't trying t
Ember's eyes widened in shock when she heard Karen's words and saw Elias' body on the table. "Karen, are you crazy? How could you do this? What did he do to you?" Ember asked. She knew that Karen was capable of a lot of things, murder was one of them too, but she didn't think that she would ever have a reason to kill Elias."He kept on getting in my way, so I had to eliminate him. And guess what bitch? You are going to be blamed for it." She said, smiling at Ember. It was not a friendly smile, it was an evil smile."And do you seriously think that everyone is going to believe you?" Ember asked, scoffing."All I need is evidence, the murder weapon is right there in your hands." She said, pointing at the gun that Ember was holding. Ember quickly threw the gun on the floor."Don't worry I already have your fingerprints on it." She said and then she picked up the gun. Ember only noticed then that Karen was wearing gloves. Ember quickly stood up from the couch, wanting to snatch the gun fr
After a few hours, the car came to a stop in front of a huge mansion, it was Royal's mansion that he lived in. "Come on, let's head to the helicopter. Time is what we don't have." He said pointing at the helicopter that was in the yard. Ember didn't question him or anything. She didn't know why he was helping her or if he was helping her. She was going to save her questions for later. They both got out of the car and ran towards the helicopter, one of Royal's bodyguards opened the door for them and they got in. As soon as they did, the helicopter took off not wasting any time.Ember watched as they moved up from the ground. She knew that they were leaving the city, maybe even the country. She never imagined that there would be a day in her life when she would be escaping her home country. A country that she had called home ever since she was born. Tears fell from her eyes, she couldn't control them. Royal wiped them for her, she looked at him, she was a bit shocked by his actions. "N
"Madame, it's time for you to wake up." Aliyah, the head maid said, knocking on Ember's room. It was 7:30 in the morning and Ember still felt like sleeping some more. "Okay, okay I am up." She said, covering her ears with her hands. She sat up on the bed and stretched her arms and she yawned. She looked at the windows, they were still closed. She got off the bed and walked towards the windows and opened the red and white curtains, she was met by the bright and beautiful sunrise that was emerging from the mountains. She opened the windows, breathing in the fresh air. This was her first morning in a foreign country, a country where nobody knew her. It felt good because no one was going to label her as the woman who cheated on her husband with her ex-boyfriend even though she didn't. She wondered what Jaden was doing at the time. The country that she was in was six hours ahead of her home country. So Jaden was sleeping at that time. She looked down at the pool that was right below her.
Axle was brought back from his thoughts by a sudden knock on his office door. "Come in." He said and the door opened, and a man in a black suit walked in. He sat down on the chair that was right across from Axle. "So, did you find her?" He asked. The man sighed and he shook his head. "Well, sir she was seen jumping into the river. And you know that that river flows heavily, so there is no way that she might have survived." He said."She jumped into the river?" He asked. The man nodded his head. Axle sighed, shaking his head. "Damn it! You have to search more and find her. Even if she's dead you have to find her. She murdered my brother and I can't let her get away with it, do you hear me?""Sir it will be impossible to find her, besides no one can make it out alive from there. So sir the only assumption that we can make right now is that she didn't make it out alive." The man said."You are dismissed," Axle said and the man stood up and he walked out of the office. Axle leaned on hi
