Ember sat in her room, tears were streaming down her face uncontrollably. Her mind was flooded with a lot of questions that she knew she had no answers to. She felt like she was losing breath, everything seemed to be happening so fast for her. The man that she married in the name of love turned out to be a liar. She blamed herself for being stupid and blind, for trusting a stranger. A man that she had never met before. Maybe if she had said no to his proposal she wouldn't be sitting here crying. Maybe if she had just gone back to her apartment after Dean dumped her, she wouldn't have gone to that party and she wouldn't have met Axle. She could have seen it at first, because Axle just seemed to come at the perfect time. She saw him as her knight in shining armour, he appeared at the moment when she needed someone to be by her side, she knew that a man as perfect as him was out of the ordinary but she just ignored it, she even ignored the little voice in her head that was telling her t
Ember, how are you feeling?"Elias asked as he sat down on the bed next to Ember. "I don't know how I am feeling or how am I supposed to feel. I just don't, I have lied to for months. I can't believe I actually fell for his lies. Elias did you know about all this?"She asked."Well to be honest, yes. But I didn't like the idea so I tried talking to him after I found out that he had proposed to you but well you know Axle, he's stubborn, he only does what he thinks he's right."He said."But why did he have to lie to me, couldn't he have just told me the truth in the first place instead of just lying to me like that. I was just stupid, who in their right mind would agree to a proposal from a stranger?"She asked. It felt more like she was asking herself and not Elias."Hey it's not your fault. It's all his fault for approaching you for the wrong reasons. You don't deserve this, you deserve better."He said. "So m what are you going to do now, stay or…"He asked."I don't know but I don't thi
Axle stood in his office looking at the busy window through his big window. His mind was flooded with thoughts he did not want to think about at all but he just couldn't help it. He kept asking himself questions that he thought he didn't know the answers to but he did. The cup of coffee that he was holding in his hand was starting to get cold, he had not even drank half of it because he was not even focused on drinking it. He knew that he was most probably not going to get a cold coffee so he just put the glass on his office table.Just then he heard a light knock on his door and then he said."Come in."He said it loud enough for the person to hear. The door opened and Karen walked in with a smile on her face. She sure was feeling snug about what she had done. "What are you doing here?"He asked. He was in no mood of talking to her or even seeing her after what she had done. To him she was the guilty one, not him. He just did not want to blame himself. "Am I not allowed to come here? I
Axle sat in his car looking at the house that was in front of him. He tightened his grip on the steering wheel. His eyes were filled with nothing but anger and fear. For the first time ever in his life he had felt fearing him. He felt like slamming his head on the steering wheel just thinking about everything that was happening. Ember had stopped talking to him and she refused to sleep in the same room with him, which was understandable but not to Axle.He still didn't see a reason for her to ignore him, to him she would have already forgave him by now and just moved on like nothing happened at all, to him she was just being dramatic. He checked the time on his wrist watch and he saw that it was 5:36pm. He smiled a little, Dr Lee was going to be back any moment now. Be sure to look out for his car because it was going to pull in at any moment now. After a few minutes a black jeep pulled into the house that he had been looking at for the past hour. And he saw Dr Lee coming out of his c
"Ember can we talk?"Axle asked knocking on the door of the room that Ember now sleeps in. She hadn't been talking to him for a while now. She even refused to sit in the same room with him so she demanded her own room. At first she wanted to leave but Axle's father told her not to as that would look bad on the family so the just gave her her own room. She had her food brought into her own room, the only time that she went out of the house was when she was going to see her friend of just going out to get some fresh air.She avoided seeing him or bumping into him everyday. She always ignored his presence, she just acted like he never even existed. She just wanted nothing to do with him anymore."Just go away."She said loud enough for him to hear."Ember, I know that I am the last person that you want to see or talk to right now but please just give me a chance to explain myself."He said."You are not even the last person that I want to see, I just don't want to see you or even talk to yo
The next morning Ember woke up ready to leave the house. She didn't know where she was going to go, her apartment was not an option at the moment. Maybe she was going to go to her parents' house, but her mother would probably not let her in. She would just tell her to go back because she finally had something to grab about after Ember got married. So it would not look good if her friends saw Ember there, so her parents' house was not an option either. She didn't know where to go but she was probably not going to stay there. Axle had frozen her bank card and the one that she had before she met him was taken by her mother because to her she didn't need that money anymore, so she had no money on her.She would go to Sophie's place but she did not want to burden her friend and get her involved in all of this. She looked at her suitcase and then she sighed. She thought of asking Axle to give her some money or unfreezing her bank card but she did not want to do that. He did not want her to
Ember stood there waiting for Axle to give her the answer that she wanted to hear, but he just looked down on the ground. He wanted to tell her the truth but it felt like the words were stuck in his throat. His heart was pounding so hard that it felt like it was going to come out of his chest. He took a deep breath and he looked up.at the ceiling. "What do you want me to tell you? I told you why last night. Didn't I?"He asked."Then that's not a good enough reason to convince me to stay."She said, wiping her tears."I don't have any other reason."He said."Then why are you avoiding eye contact with me?"She asked."It's just that I…"He couldn't finish his sentence because he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. He put his hand over his chest and he knelt down on the floor. "Dammit!"He said, breathing heavily."What's wrong?"Ember asked, kneeling down in front of him. She put her hands on his cheeks. "J-just call for help."He said. The pain seemed to be getting worse by the second.
Ember took her suitcase and she walked back upstairs. She didn't know whether she should go to her room or go back to Axle's room now that he was not feeling well. She was angry at him but she was worried about him at the same time. She figured that it was not a hard decision to make so she decided to go back to his room. She walked on the hallway towards his room, but as she was about to put her hand on the door handle Payton slapped her hand away."What are you doing here?"She asked."I want to unpack my stuff."She said."Did you forget where your room is?"She asked."I want to sleep in this room again."She said."No, this is my son's room not yours. You were given your own room, so go to that room."She said."I want to sleep here so that I can look after my husband."She said. Payton rolled her eyes, if it were up to her then she would have kicked Ember out of the mansion, but she knew that she was the only one that could save her son so she couldn't. "He's my son so you are not al
