Chapter 21

Ember walked down the hallway quietly. Her heart was racing and her palms were sweating. She felt like she was going to collapse on the ground. She stopped in front of the door that led to Axle's parents' bedroom.

They had called her and told her that they wanted to see her, from the sound of their voices Ember could tell that it was nothing good. She took a deep breath and she knocked on the door. She then heard them saying 'come in'. She opened the door and there she saw Axle's parents who were seated in the room. They watched her as she walked in. The looks that they were giving her made her body tremble in fear.

"Sit down."Payton said, pointing at the chair that was across the room. Ember nodded her head and she went there and she sat down on the chair.

"Ember I am sure that you are wondering why we called you here."John said, Ember nodded her head. Payton stood up and she walked towards the nightstand, she opened the drawer and she took out some papers that were stapled together
